Reboot
2011-01-18 22:27:00 In my Roger Hodgson fan chat yesterday, my friend Marie from the UK inspired me to start blogging again. (Thanks, Marie!) Last year was a time of reset for me. There were things in my life that I was allowing to control me, rather than the other way around. I have grieved both physical loss ...
Good Intentions
2011-01-18 22:27:00 I had an idea for a blog post today, had it well thought out, but I simply don’t have the energy to get it done. (In fact, I just used my last bit to scoop the cat box before I typed this sentence.) I’m not sure what has happened to me, but it seems like ... More About: Good
The journey of grief
2011-01-18 22:27:00 When my father-in-law, Frank, was in the hospital in October before he died, I had gone to the gift shop one day before visiting. I spotted a stuffed bull that I thought was cute and it reminded me of not only of his personality but also the enemy he was fighting. Clever, I thought. I ... More About: Journey , The Journey
Mundane Moments are Bliss
2011-01-18 22:27:00 Tex-Mex comfort food for lunch. Now I’m lying here typing this with football playoffs droning, the cat curled up and snoring on my legs. Warm and soft. It’s Sunday and I’m upstairs in the “loft” with Randy and Wylie (Star is scared of the stairs, poor baby, so we turned the TV on downstairs so ... More About: Moments

Chapter?s End
2010-10-27 21:14:00 Although I won’t go into detail, another phase of my life is coming to a close involving a labor of love that has spanned several years. It’s bittersweet but I am finally learning to listen to what God is speaking to my heart. Faith has kept me moving forward to whatever He has in store ...
Therapy, or fighting the beast
2010-10-27 21:14:00 It’s funny, human behavior. Since I quit drinking, I have discovered several other distractions. I guess one habit has to be replaced with another, or in my case, multiple. I can’t believe I’m actually writing this, but one of them has turned out to be jogging. Yeah, me…the one who is allergic to exercise. Since ... More About: Fighting , Therapy
It?s God on Line 1
2010-10-27 21:14:00 Not that I’m taking any credit here, but I find it really interesting how things happen around here. All the time. After posting yesterday about my longing for fall, I saw this morning on Weather Underground’s forecast that our first “cool front” for the season is arriving midweek. OK, OK…so it’s only going to drop ... More About: On-line
Clarification
2010-10-27 21:14:00 Don’t misunderstand me. Because I tend to use blogging as an emotional outlet, one gets the impression that I’m unhappy. Actually, that couldn’t be further from the truth these days. Sure, the depression demon has taken its toll on me through the years, but I can tell you I’m happier than I ever have been ...
Are you ready?
2010-10-27 21:14:00 Just when I thought I couldn’t take summer anymore, we found out purely by accident that the NFL Network was just added to our “open” cable lineup. (Randy is an endorser for Suddenlink.) You would’ve thought we won the lottery or something. We have been so desperate for some football, anything to remind us that ...
Indelibly Absent
2009-09-08 01:15:00 I’m back again for the moment. This is the first day I’ve felt like posting something here in a very long time. Like all the other creative aspects of my life, I find myself losing interest at some point. It’s strange. I start second guessing. Am I putting too much ... More About: General
Facebook
2009-08-02 16:06:00 I’ve been posting most of my “deep thoughts” and other blah-blah on Facebook . Really haven’t done much with this blog lately, so you might want to come visit me on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=72 9577135&ref=profile I’ll probably post here from time to time, but I’m on Facebook every day. Laughter ? The BEST Medicine
2009-07-27 13:49:00 We all need the clowns to make us laugh… Randy saw that my favorite BritCom, “Are You Being Served?” was showing on KERA last night, so he set the DVR to record it. I’m excited! For those of you who aren’t familiar, here’s an ep from YouTube. Enjoy… More About: Medicine , General , Laughter

2009-07-26 15:11:00 I’m torn. Don’t know whether to make a doctor appointment or not. I had to call Randy on Friday morning while I was working because I was typing along and became overwhelmed with tears. He’s my lifeline and without him, I really don’t think I’d be here right now, to be honest. I ... More About: General , Page

2009-07-24 13:43:00 Welcome to my Pity Party. Here I am at almost 47. Pretty much all of my dreams of being successful at something have vanished. I was going to be an artist. I don’t even like to draw now. I was going to be a musician. I was even offered a music ... More About: General , Page
Santa Fe Countdown
2008-06-08 15:22:00 I’m getting a day off on June 30th, and we’re leaving on June 28th, dark and early, for Santa Fe. Only two nights this time (sniff), but it will be sweet. While sitting here sweating this morning, I decided to look at Santa Fe ’s forecast for the week, just for grins. Forecast for Sangre ... More About: General , Countdown
Hanging On
2008-06-07 22:39:00 Randy still has a job, at least for the next 2 months until Arbitron ratings come out. I still don’t know where these so-called “budget cuts” are going to come from. I took Randy to see Sex and the City. Yes, I had to see it again and I wanted him to see it with me. ... More About: General
Happy (Belated) Birthday, PK!
2008-06-06 12:15:00 I wanted to post this yesterday, on the day, but didn’t have time and then was too exhausted by the time I did. My “baby sister,” Paula, turned 40 yesterday. 40!!! This just blows my mind. I hope she enjoys joining the 40-and-up crowd. LOL Love you, girl!! Isn’t she a doll? More About: General , Happy , Birthday

2008-06-04 18:44:00 The powers that be are coming up to Randy’s place on Friday. Keep those positive thoughts coming. I realized my mp3 didn’t work from yesterday’s post, so let’s try again. Hope of Deliverance - Paul McCartney More About: General , Part
Hope of Deliverance
2008-06-03 13:58:00 The head honchos from Gap Broadcasting are coming in sometime this month for “budget cuts.” When you consider that the group of radio stations that Randy is Ops Manager for is already running on a shoestring, you pretty much read between the lines. Since Randy’s station (oldies format) is not the money maker, and his ... More About: General , Hope
Summer. June. Yuk.
2008-06-02 18:31:00 It’s supposed to be 103 tomorrow. I miss winter. I dread our electric bill, although we keep the thermostat on about 78-79 F. Portable fans are my friends. By the way, the Sex and the City movie was a good balance of fantasy and reality. I really think you guys might find more than a few ... More About: Summer , June , General
Twist Off
2008-06-01 14:21:00 We were out doing our usual groceries-at-Wal-Mart thing yesterday morning, when we decided to do a day trip to Fredericksburg. It had been way too long since we’d seen the city limits sign. We’re such rebels. We took off in the Honda S2000 and arrived at F-burg at straight up noon. We went to Fredericksburg Brewing ... Break Out The Estrogen
2008-05-30 12:33:00 I’m going to a movie tonight. Alert the media. I haven’t been to the movies since “Jurrassic Park-The Lost World.” (No, I’m not kidding.) Angela, my friend who happens to live down the street, called and invited me to go with her and her next door neighbor, Holly, to see the Sex and the City movie tonight. Woo-hoo! She’s going to try to get the tickets today on her lunch hour. I wish her luck with that, as I’ve heard that tickets are going fast. The way my morning started yesterday, with poop and then my most-dreaded dictators in my ear as the tears ran down my face as if they would never stop, I am hormonally primed for this event. Watch out. Oh, and don’t try this at home: More About: Break
Poopy-Doopy
2008-05-29 13:54:00 This morning, it’s all about poop. Â I can tell it’s going to be a good day. Â Let’s just say that I don’t think Gracie appreciated that photo being posted yesterday. Â The excitement never ends. Â That’s all I have to say about that.
Manic Mode
2008-05-27 13:51:00 Oops, I did it again. Saturday, Randy and I were killing time at Circuit City. Â I then asked if we could go to Best Buy. Â I was frustrated because my ASUS was sitting on a truck at the UPS facility here and their office was closed. Â I know, boo-hoo. Â We turn the corner to walk toward Best Buy from inside the mall, and the first thing I see is a sign that says “Apple Store Now Open.” Â I did a double take. Awhile back, I had asked someone who worked there if they carried Macs in the store. Â (They have them in their ad circulars.) Â Unfortunately, they were only available online. Â I had been interested in getting my hands on a Mac for a long time, really since I acquired my 40GB iPod Photo years ago. Â My heart started pounding as we went into the store. Â Randy spotted the “Store,” which is actually a table with several Mac toys on display. Â We made a beeline. Â I felt like my head was spinning from the endorphin rush. Â Crazy, I know…but if you... Remembering What Is Important
2008-05-25 20:40:00 My dad sent me this, and I wanted to share. I’m proud to be American and thankful for those who gave all. God bless you and your families. It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the VETERAN , not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble. Play Time
2008-05-23 14:17:00 I am not in the mood to work today. I logged in and there is no work in my pool yet for the account that I’m on. That’s not motivating me much. Music With Meaning
