2008-01-30 23:11:00 I don’t know if anyone is aware of the Macromedia Flash came to be. I wasn’t aware of it, but last night, I decided to drop by the #actionscript (irc channel). The channel that I used to go online to since I started using flash - around 2001. Anyway, there were talking about some guy asking if Adobe was the one who created flash, heck no, even Macromedia themselves didn’t create it but instead they bought the program and it wasn’t called “flash” in the first place. So, I’ll just quote some of its history. How it began Flash began as Jonathan Gay’s dream of being an architect. While designing sketches of houses, Gay came to the sad realization that there was not a lot of opportunity for him to actually see his designs in final form.
