How to show your support for Muslim extremism?
2008-05-31 09:40:00 Just wear the black-and-white scarf, and people will think that you are giving your support for the Muslim extremism. That was what happened to Rachel Ray on the Dunkin Donuts Advertisement.Conservative blog says black-and-white scarf is symbol of support for Muslim extremism.Dunkin' Donuts has pulled an online advertisement featuring celebrity chef Rachael Ray after criticism from conservative U.S. bloggers over her choice of scarf.Ray, while promoting an iced coffee, was wearing a black-and-white scarf, similar to the kaffiyeh, a scarf commonly worn in the Middle East.Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez once donned a kaffiyeh in a gesture of solidarity with Palestinians.Critics, including conservative commentator Michelle Malkin, argued that Ray should not be wearing such a scarf because, they said, it has come to symbolize Muslim extremism and terrorism. The kaffiyeh "has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad," Malkin said in her blog last week."Popularized by Yasser Arafat a... The measurement of absolute smart
2008-04-24 12:54:00 I always heard that one says that particular person is smart, and heard from almost everybody that yes indeed that particular person is damn smart. But when I met other group, this group who happen to be working with this person say the opposite thing about that particular person. That person is not smart, s/he just damn lucky, s/he is at the right time and the right place, and so on.Make me wondering, so when one mention that this particular person is smart that doesn't mean that s/he is really smart. When we were in school we have the proof of our smartness, the grade and the report book. When we're in college, the same thing. But when we are in the professionalism world, we might think that one position on the company ladder is the proof of how smart someone is. That might be true and might be not true.I know few people with good position but somehow according to his/her team/subordinate or people who worked with him/her, s/he is clueless about what s/he should do in that positio... How tall is your career?
2008-04-20 05:17:00 Ok, you might want to correct my sentence above, but I wrote that way intentionally.I'm reading this book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking. It's really interesting book, however I found some of the topics the author talking about is not really something new, it's just the basic things that sometimes you forget. About the intuition, I do use it toward my works. When you are in this business for quite sometimes, you will have that intuition that sometimes you didn't realise you have it, by just looking at the creative works you will know that if the client won't buy it. It's just there.. the hunch, the common sense...But, what I want to talk about here is about the Warren Harding error. The Warren Harding error is the dark side of rapid cognition. It is at the root of a good deal of prejudice and discrimination. He was the perfect man for president based on physical well-being and sincere kindliness of heart. But Warren Harding was not a particularly intelligent man... More About: Career , Tall

Crazy days lately, but I'm sure everything will be fine soon, keep praying and optimistic.2 days ago after 2 back to back meeting with total 6 hours, I got this email from my new Ozzy Boss. He asked about something related to the creative output and after I explained with the situation and agreement with client, He reply back with saying "No Dramas, We need to brief creative soon"My take out was:He thinks that I'm buying time to brief creative and stalling the job.I was soo mad at him, how come He treats me like that since I am the one who taking care of the jobs and manage everything to be done within given deadline, really tight one.I reply back to him says "which drama are you referring to??" But he didn't reply anything until I go home.I was cranky that night and I made my mind to confront him the next day.Me: telling Sam that I hate him and bla bla bla cursing him and tell Sam the whole story.Sam: calmly says "Baby, what does... In Hawaii, you will find Spam® at all grocery and convenience stores, many restaurants and in most homes in Hawaii. This street festival is great for all ages, as the event includes Hawaii's top restaurants, two stages with free entertainment, and a variety of Hawaiiancrafter. This is also a special event that benefits the Hawaii Food Bank, thelargest non-profit in Hawaii that feeds the needy.According to fist time visitor to Spam Jam Waikiki, the taste of Spam is salty goodness and meaty and I was thinking that maybe it has same taste to canned corned beef.Beside Hawaii, there is also Spam Jam celebration in Austin,...

Energy use dimmed during Earth Hour
2008-03-30 04:58:00 Following up article about the Earth Hour event.Energy authorities say the impact of last night's Earth Hour event was the equivalent of two large power stations being temporarily shut down.National landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne's Federation Square were dimmed, as lights were switched-off across the country to help combat global warming.Paul Bird from the National Electricity Market Management Company says it prompted a sizeable drop in demand for power."We're still finalising the data, but we do believe that there was at least 1,000 megawatts reduction across the national grid, which is a significant reduction across the states, south-eastern and eastern states of Australia," he said.Earth Hour encouraged people to turn-off lights and electrical appliances for an hour, to help combat climate warming.Mr Bird says demand dropped during the hour, but then rose again."There was a significant energy reduction, not only in the capital cities, we also detected it ...
A movement that spans the world
2008-03-29 05:42:00 FELLOW electricians Justin McInerney and Tony Bautista have never met, and probably never will, but the pair are playing their part in Earth Hour tonight.Eighteen hours apart and on opposite sides of the world they will throw the levers that turn off the lights above their cities' great bridges, as the event sweeps through 35 nations at eight o'clock local time tonight. In San Francisco, Mr Bautista will turn off the lights above the Bay Bridge, the busiest in the US. It will signal the 60-minute shutdown across the city, from the Golden Gate Bridge, to City Hall and at least 70 buildings in San Francisco's financial district, as well as other tourism landmarks. In Sydney, the darkened Harbour Bridge will be joined by the Opera House, dozens of city skyscrapers and hundreds of thousands of homes.Mr McInerney said he was proud to flick the switch that dims the bridge's non-essential lights.Earth Hour will bring millions of people around Australia and the world together to make a st... Earth Hour
2008-03-26 12:57:00 Earth Hour is an international event that asks households and businesses to turn off their lights and non-essential electrical appliances for one hour on the evening of March 29th at 8PM local time to promote electricity conservation and thus lower carbon emissions. It is promoted by World Wide Fund for Nature Australia (WWF), an environmental lobby group, and the Sydney Morning Herald. The first Earth Hour was held in Sydney, Australia between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on 31 March 2007. The 2007 Earth Hour is estimated to have cut Sydney's mains electricity consumption by between 2.1% and 10.2% for that hour, with as many as 2.2 million people taking part. A second Earth Hour, in 2008, is planned to be an international event held in Sydney, many partner cities, and individuals around the world participating.OriginsEarth Hour, under the working title 'the big flick', was conceived by members of WWF-Australia's communication team in December 2005 as a possible campaign to engage all... SJP is "Unsexiest" Woman
2008-03-25 07:35:00 "Am I really the unsexiest woman in the world?"That's the rhetorical question actress Sarah Jessica Parker posed to Grazia (which actually bills itself as Britain's "first glossy magazine"). She was responding to the title of "Unsexiest Woman Alive" bestowed upon her by a poll of the readers of another magazine, Maxim. In questioning their choice, Ms. Parker fails to notice that she's acquiescing to the notion that there really is an unsexiest woman in the world. But she deserves credit for bravely admitting that it caused her significant pain, enhanced, in turn, by her husband's anger."Do I fit some ideals and standards of some men writing in a men's magazine?" she asked. "Maybe not." (Plaudits also for taking the trouble to Q & A herself, thus lightening the interviewer's work load.)Again, Ms. Parker is on the right track, but only halfway there. She herself illustrated the point in the 1991 film LA Story. Playing SanDeE*, a dizzy, flirtatious young woman, she beguiles th...

Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
2008-03-17 13:13:00 Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? is a television game show format based on asking grade-school level questions to adults. (The format was claimed to originate in the United States on the Howard Stern Show; however, it is based on a similar premise that originally aired on an Art Linkletter show in the 1960s, which Stern probably watched as a child.) The show has since been replicated in several foreign countries; some under the same title, and some under modified titles. The first season of the show ranked 28th in the Nielsen Ratings, with an average of 12.8 million viewers per episode.GameplayEach game is played by a single contestant who earns money incrementally based on a payout ladder by answering simple trivia questions, with the game themed as a school quiz. The contestant is presented and entered in textbook for the grade level of the particular question. Some questions are multiple choice or true/false; others require the contestant to answer without any options. Each corre...

2008-03-16 03:57:00 Saturday, March 15, 2008The best sex should last between seven and 13 minutes, and even three-minute sex is "adequate", a major survey of US experts has concluded. But Australian sex therapists commenting on the new research say most men Down Under wanted it to last considerably longer while most women were "not bothered" if it was over with fast. The sex study is the first to review what the experts believe is the ideal length of time to have penetrative sex, with the random sample of Americans and Canadians labelling seven to 13 minutes most "desirable".Intercourse lasting between three and seven minutes was deemed "adequate", but anything less was "too short" and beyond 13 minutes was "too long".The study, published today in the international Journal of Sexual Medicine, is designed help calm couples' unrealistic beliefs that healthy sex should last a long time.US studies show Americans expect penetrative sex to last between 15 and 20 minutes, even though self reports indicate it i... "It would be good if in the center of every town in Russia ... an oven was built, like at Auschwitz, in which ceremonially, every day, and better yet, twice a day ... the infidel cops were burnt.
