Speaking out
2008-01-26 02:35:00
I just have some things to say. Thats the good thing about blogs, they can act as your personal psychologist. You just talk out stuff in your head and feel at ease. The only difference is, you don't have to pay here. If you are looking for humor at this point, go read the post below this. Those who decide to read, I warn you, this might bore you. Honestly I don't even feel like writing but I figured might as well say something out. Weekly absences are not good. Its a herculean task really, getting everything organized. Well, maybe I am exaggerating a little but its definitely a time consuming process. So, what have I been doing all week?Firstly, my novels have finally been arranged properly, as per category and interest. This took me around seven hours. Well, when you sort out around 1500 books, its bound to take time. Don't get me wrong, I do not own 1500 novels. My collection of "novels" amounts to a mere...wait a second...let me check my list... ah, 226 novels, out of which 82 a...

What a wonderful day it is today. Well, its not that great, but I managed to get out of bed at 10.30am. Thats a once-in-a-year phenomenon. So early. Some should have taped the awakening.Lets see, today I am going to tell you about the hazard that is (cellphone beeping) err...excuseme.(on cellphone)Me: "Hello?"Person On Other Side: "Hello and good morning sir. Myself XYZ from HDFC bank. We have a fantastic new offer that we wish to discuss with you. See, our bank has..."Me: "Not interested."POOS: "Sir, its totally my opinion, but I think you are quite mistaken, see we have a special offerthat allows you to.."Me: "When I want your monkey brained opinion I will rattle your cage. Stop calling me."Idiots.Ah, where was I? Oh yes, today I am going to talk about the hazard that is these annoying banktelemarketers. I never had this problem before, because I never had that much money in my account. Now I do... got to have cash to go abroad. Ever since that I am getting dozens of credit card o...

The secret of a good post thats to be read online must satisfy two basic things.1. Should be concise.2. Should have a very unique introduction. Something that hooks the readers' attention. We may very well throw the first suggestion in the trash. This is a LONG post. So, most of you will be turned off by its length and close this window...unless I start out with something that intrigues you.Honestly, its been nearly 3 weeks since I last wrote anything, and may have got a bit rusty. I tried writing an intro over 22 times, each time typing it, deleting it, typing it again, deleting it...so on.Finally I came up with the perfect intro. Here goes.Ahem.Exams went ok. Went to jodhpur. Lived in a desert. Imagined a 50-foot scorpion. Came back. Math exam sucked. Going to Singapore to study multimedia. In two months.Got your attention now?Good. Lets get started. For the new readers, first a warm welcome to Hershey 's cave. Do not be alarmed. You will rarely read posts of such length. Do not t...

Rejections and break ups
2007-12-29 11:30:00
I am in a gloomy mood. I was just reading something I had written a few weeks ago, and after that the memories came flooding back. Don?t know why I do such things. I am well aware that if I read up such posts they wipe the smile of my face. Technically I am gloomy right now, on 27th December, 2007. Its 3am. This post however, if you can read it, then success, I managed to access my blog from err?think I will be in jodhpur on the day I post this. If you read the note in the last article, I mentioned that I am leaving a couple of things in my drafts. This was technically not supposed to be one of them. Spur of the moment situation here. Break ups and rejections. They are a part of life. One learns to accept them slowly. For people like me, we get so cautious that we hardly allow anyone to come that close again. We keep testing their level of commitment, calculate how much you can trust them, and genuinely evaluate whether it?s worth a heart break. Only then we go forward. ...
Old Age
2007-12-26 22:04:00
Gah! It?s so troublesome to write something after a week. Not because you don?t have any topic, but you have so many that its extremely confusing. So I am just going to get into it, dive straight in and sort everything out later. Considering Christmas and New years being probably the most hot topics around, we aren?t going to read about that over here(for a while). But I may use some small references regarding Christmas here and there. Old age. I was thinking about it a few days ago? everyone has pondered on this question, ?What will I be when I am old?? Usually they refer to careers, I took it in the literal sense? when I am say, 80, how will I behave? Turns out it?s not a pretty picture. Let?s compare today?s older generation with the future one so you can understand what I am trying to convey. Old guys, most of them anyway, are so sweet, nice, dignified. They have class?listen to nice music, have impeccable manners etc. You ever listened to some of their recor...

How to Color a Dragon tattoo
2007-12-19 18:46:00
All right. So, yet another time I have deleted my art blog. Face it, I am not meant to have more than one website. Therefore, once more, I am transferring all posts from there to this site, luckily there was only one post this time.Lets get some facts straight about my artwork now. For future references.1. I will assume you have some knowledge of photoshop. This means knowing stuff about layers and blending effects and how to use all the tools available in the left side menu.2. I am no genius with this software. All of my coloring work is done by trial and error. So basically, you have to tamper around with the settings to get your results.3. I will not be giving details all the time and on certain occasions I will just show you the initial design and the final product. Will naturally tell you how to go about it, but there will be no step by step visual aids.Today I picked out a simple dragon design. I will leave out the part as to how I drew it, not much to explain there anyway.St...

Ok for all the GRE test takers out there...and for the ones who are interested in learning new words...This is a list of what I considered to be the important GRE words...mind you, these will not help you get a high score...you have to solve exam papers too. Here these are my custom made word lists:http://www.esnips.com/doc/8c575108- 1046-40ab-beac-e03bb45c7426/abatehttp://w ww.esnips.com/doc/1a25e4ea-ecf6-438f-a3a1 -4c5ccb9d9998/Abscondhttp://www.esnips.co m/doc/05c50590-96d9-4e6f-b9a0-b2f2f8e959c a/acumenhttp://www.esnips.com/doc/1b83646 9-e69d-4557-b455-b1b25cd651b2/acerbicIts these 4 lists that you should probably read daily once. Along side do the big book papers, and pick out words that you don't know and are not in this list.Best way to learn I guess. YAY! I have just recently found out that I am banned in China. Well, not me exactly?my website. It?s so cool. I never liked china that much anyway, was more of a Japanese fan. I do like Chinese gals though (what? They are pretty) Check to see if you are banned or not:http://www.greatfirewallofchina.org/t est/ Anyway, its been such a boring annoying miserable regretful time these past couple of weeks. YES!!!! It?s the ?exam phase?. You should know it by know, at least if you are regular here. As soon as the exams come closer I have to whine about not being able to study and how exams are pointless. Funny how often I have to say this?can?t help it. Exams take place twice a year. Last for a month each. Complaining begins around say, a month and a half earlier. So if I blog for a whole year, 5 out of 12 months go in whining about exams. See, I can do math. So, GRE on 30th October. Preparation? Nil. Excited? Not at all. Panicking? A bit. Taking action to relieve stress? Well?I at...

Survival guide to life 2
2007-12-13 09:37:00
continuing from part 1 Survival Tip #6When you are in a ghost house...do not have sex. People make a lot of noise. It draws attention. It also makes you a prime target to be killed. I admit, its a nice way to die, but nonetheless. Besides, the goons never let you finish so whats the point. Right?Survival Tip # 7Don't you people see movies. What are you thinking by saying "oh god! Finally, its over! And I am alive!". Thats the one line that will make sure there is a part 2 and you will die then.So better be quiet and give out a SILENT prayer. And pray the director of your life doesn't plan on giving you a sequel.Survival Tip # 8You know when you are in a big group and you draw straws to see who goes into that dark cave first?Well even if your straw is the shortest, just shove someone else in the cave. Hey! survival is toppriority. Gotta do what you have to do.Survival Tip # 9God said, " Do unto others as they do unto you". Or something like that. Anyway, what it means is, if someon...

Many have been asking whats wrong with me lately? I have been behaving strangely over the past few days. The ones close to me have felt this unusual change, but still unable to figure it out.I am assuming the ones who know me via this blog have seen some sort of change... Something not quite right. If you couldn't tell, then look at the weather... hasn't stopped raining for three days. Its not even the normal rain. There isn't even a little brightness out there. Its filled with gloom. A dull and dark atmosphere. Grey clouds enveloping the sky. It "feels" sad.Naturally thats supposed to happen, seeing as the rain god's favorite (me) is upset. Add to that the fact of me being a cancerian. Water makes me happy...mostly. Rain makes me happier. And when it doesn't, everything around me becomes dull. The sun itself goes into hiding.I have been eating food without realizing what it is, have grown a bit more chubby due to that. Didn't even know until I looked in the mirror. Then I saw...

What will it take good merciful lord, for me to graduate?Yo. It?s been ages since I actually wrote something hasn?t it? Well, procrastination rules supreme.Let?s speed up to the events that have taken place so far. My vacation sucked. Want to talk about it but rather not. And would the vampire version of you even be you? It's all too much to contemplate. I was 18 back then, and not a lot has changed since then..except that I can probably last a bit longer. You thought I am going to talk about sex? PERVERTS!!!!! IS SEX THE ONLY THING YOU CAN THINK OF!!Sigh...when I said "do it once" I meant taking shots.Anyway, vodka, scotch, rum, wine, tequila...the basic alcohol groups. Regardless of how each rate in their alcohol content, it has no meaning when you gulp them down faster than the eye can see.Do you know you can get high on something as simple as Mai Tai if you drink it under 60 seconds.See I didn't know that... this was recent mind you... happened in july of this year. But we will come back to that late...

Something valuable lost.
2007-12-13 09:12:00
I write this post with a lot of regret and difficulty. Never have I felt such pain and frustration, well thats a lie, but I have rarely experienced such agony.I lost something very very valuable to me. It may take days to recover it. Until then, I am powerless and all my posts shall be filled with pain. It was my own fault for losing it. My ego screwed me over again. I have lost my LEFT HAND!!!!!Well, not the hand per say, just the fingers. They are cut at the tips. If it weren't for my rapid healing powers(a.k.a. Super high speed blood clotting) I would have died. Stupid stupid guitar strings.I spent 4 hours nonstop trying to play Kryptonite(3 Doors down) on the guitar. Found a video which teaches you step by step. But the chords, the guitar chords are horrible.Firstly, it is fucking impossible to bend your fingers that way. You have to be made of rubber for that. Some how, after nearly 40 minutes, I managed to get them in place.Mind you, this is only for the first verse of the ...

Hello again. So, finally a new post after days. I apologize for the long delay. Was going through my " too-bored-and-lazy-to type" phase. You know what I need, one of those softwares that convert speech to text. That would make like a lot easier.I have tons of things to talk about. Well thats an exaggeration, but I count atleast seven cool topics. Sadly for you, I am not going to discuss any of them right now. Nope. I will just give you my lovely diet plan.As you all probably know, my exams are approaching, and as a result, I start eating a lot more than usual. Its one of those unexplained phenomenons. Try it out. Sit up late one night and study for an exam. You will automatically get the urge to munch on something. But this was never a problem before, I used to gain like 2-3 kilos which were easily lost once exams were over. Its a little different this time. With being cooped up in my room all day for the past 3 months and barely going out at all, whatever little exercise I used to g...

Love. Relationships. Dating. Its all so overwhelming. The excitement of feeling something new, the fear of approval, the joy of having a partner, the pain of their betrayal. So very confusing. Whatever happened to good ol love. Since when did it get so complicated. My guess is when Eve gave Adam an apple, or maybe when Romeo called Juliet fat...oh, juliet definitely smacked Romeo at that time. She took his old age guitar, whatever they call it, banjo or mandarin maybe, and just went *BONK* on his head.In these days there are literally thousands of ways people can hook up with each other. You rarely heard of cases in olden times when two people from different cities fall in love. Most relationships were bound in their community. But now, two people can be continents apart and still fall in love. Thanks to this wonderful internet.Lot of questions arise here. This post, by the way, was written after reading Nisha's and Preeti's posts. So you can see some influences from their sides to...

Bah. Mondays .I hate them. Waking up all groggy in the morning, nearly toppling out of your bed. Barely avoiding tripping over your clothes, which are on the floor. Not being too lucky and making a big impact on your chair, grumbling a bit and moving forward, thereby banging your knee on the small table. Now cursing along, you open the door and the bright warm rays of the sun glisten on your face...blinding you temporarily. At this point you start speaking a different language. You begin to curse in japanese. Chi-kussssooo...kuso kuso KUSO!!!! But the day has just begun. Oh yes, now the bathroom escapades. You enter the bathroom, and show disgust on your face. The floor is wet. I hate when the floors are wet. And slippery, Ow!!!, my poor bottom. The soap has that soap scum all over it. Ewww. Get to shampooing your hair, and then condition it, but wait... there is no conditioner. Grrfrangrafrngraar!!!! The cleansing process is finally done and now its time to dry off. Eh? where is my...

A not-so-happy ending
2007-12-13 08:50:00
It has come to my attention that, until now, all of my stories have been happy ones. All the stories which had Alex and Kathryn as the lead characters all had a happy ending. Even the times when Kathryn rejects Alex, he used to never give hope and try again another day. This is all fine and well, but, as a writer, I should delve in all aspects of literature. Therefore, I need to learn the element of grief and sorrow too. So, with that in mind, I proceed to write my first sad story. Mind you, it?s my first time so bear with me.Setting: college time. Meaning, all characters are in their college era.Alex slouched on his sofa. He was lost deep in thought. The past few weeks had been a real roller coaster for him. After an entire year of being rejected by Kathryn, his persistence had finally paid off. She had grown tired of his daily routine of waking up early morning and asking for a date. She decided to get it over with and agreed.Never did she think that it will be a nice experience. A...

How to avoid boredom when the lights go off
2007-12-13 08:46:00
Welcome to another "HOW-TO" edition of Hershey's cave.Recently I have been getting a lot of power cuts in the house, which would be fine because we were prepared for it. Unfortunately the inverter doesn't seem to be working. Damn electricians. They could hook the damn thing to my fan but couldn't attach my lights. So basically at night I am thankful for not feeling hot and sweaty(wish I could though...but under different circumstances...ah..crude guy humor) however, I can't see my hair because the room is pitch black.I like my hair and prefer to see it before falling asleep.Anyway,Sometimes when the lights go off I tend to get a little crazy, do goofy things, say funny stuff, make silly noises etc etc. Gets rid of the boredom. Also, if you are in a group, it works wonders to get a few giggles. So what do i do? A lot of things, but lets make a list of what YOU can do. My top 5 favorites.1. Pay Per Post?
2007-12-13 08:45:00
So, I finally started using the PayPerPost program. But what exactly is PPP?Let me explain in the simplest of terms. You are a blogger. You log in each day and write about events and incidents that occur around you. Or you basically ramble on and rant all day long.If you are good enough, and you seriously enjoy writing, why not earn some money on the side? This is where PPP comes in. These guys have a bunch of specific topics they want you to write about and basically, if they like what you have written...Cha-ching! Instant money.Too good to be true? It is. There was definitely a catch.First, your blog has to be atleast 3 months old, with meaningful posts, nothing copy pasted of other websites.Second, your blog needs a google pagerank. If you don't have this, then you can't access majority of the posts. This is where I took a fall way back in September. But after finally getting a decent pagerank, I just can't wait to start using this program. The post topics they give, are mostly ...
