Danny & Su Yin's Wedding

*This is a backdated postI was going to post this when I was in Penang but did not have the time. Anyway, just wants to CONGRATULATE both of them again! Congrats Danny and Su Yin! By the way, the wedding was held at the Equatorial Hotel Penang.Didn't take much photos though. It was great to meet up with some of my ex-schoolmates, though, not too many as I have hoped....but never mind..Better than nothing..haha..Oh yes, the band that was hired was real bad!! Steel Guitars, it's called...out of tune and all sorts. We were seated at table nearest to the stage and at the end of the day, we were half-deaf. It was just like going to the disco except that disco is probably better..jeez...the singing was bad 90% of it. We were so glad once it was over.... Food was alright..not bad actually, a lot of left overs. But the party favour was quite nice...a pair of chopsticks with table mat. Overall it was a very slow and steady night..would have loved having all my good friends there....Annet...

Guess what!!! No, it's not a new present....but..my long-lost gold chain!!!! How I miss you so much my beloved!! I will never lose you again!! *SMOOOOCH* Remember I lost it a few months back, you can read from the post here.. Yippee!!! Father Christmas came early..haha..not early enough though... Why? Because I bought a new gold chain with the Guan Yin pendant when I was in Penang..and it costs me nearly RM2k!!! The pendant alone was RM800!!! What to do...Anyway, Father Christmas came in what shape?? Haha..as a little boy? Yup...Ian...he was playing with his vacuum cleaner when suddenly I noticed and heard the jingle of my pendant and saw that he was wearing my chain around his neck..giggling.. Well, I will consider it an early birthday present too from Ian..haha..so happy... But now, I have 2 chains..how..wear both..muahaha...all this good things happen must be because I went to pray at the temples the day before I left and nearly missed my flight...Thank you all the "ang kongs" ...

Home Sweet Home....NOT..haha..It is bloody FREEZING here...especially when we go out.. No snow but the wind...is freezing... Been back 4 days now, jet-lag? Ian more likely... but I am slowly adjusting him to the time.. it is better except that now he doesn't want to sleep alone in his room!!! He has been sleeping with Mummy for 2 months. So every night I try putting him to his cot, he will scream...jeez.. So I have decided to sleep on the floor next to his cot..he is happy like that..mummy suffering, very cold... and backache.. What sacrifice! Hehe.. So once he is asleep, I will creep up and sleep in my own warm, comfortable bed. But because he is jet-lagged, so he sleeps at 6pm and wakes up at 3 am or 5am. He will wake up crying because he can't find mummy. If he wakes up early, I will have to go and sleep on the floor again..sigh! I hope he will sleep through the night soon. Back Home!! What a NEAR NIGHTMARE!!

Yes, I've reached home now. Jet-lagged...it's now nearly 2 am and Ian and I are awake because we have slept for 12 hours straight..haha..Anyway, what near nightmare..nearly didn't get home..why..because this GREAT mum....haha..moi....was so careless and didn't check the plane tickets till last minute...THANK GOD I checked it...at about 5pm.... on Friday..and then shocked myself..hehe.. Looked at my brother's pc and then screamed... my tickets are online you see... OMG!!! The date..it's today!!! Shucks!! I quickly dump everything in my luggages!!! The maid help to fold it..yes, I practically threw everything in the luggage.... too many things to pack!! Even bought 2 bolsters earlier that day..hehe..it arrived safely with the luggages... Got myself and Ian ready..simply wore whatever that is available...my clothes was in the wash! I have been busy lately..that's why I haven't been updating my blog or blog-hopping....sorry.. I will try and visit your blogs as often as I can. My mum is better now...but I still have to help her with her business..so I am basically stuck at home...really bored shitless!! Where have all my friends gone??!!! Not around I suppose...this is NOT a holiday for me...I have to wake up at 4:30am every day to help with food preparation and work till 10pm at night before I can go anywhere... So tired by then....afternoon I have to look after Ian and have afternoon nap...really cannot take it..can't wait till I am back to the UK. On my trip back here...I find that people have changed... have snob-berish "fake" so-called relatives, people who don't even bother to call and etc... unless they need a favour from you and also people whom you never hear from ages but it is you who are the one keeping in touch with them...why I even bother, I wonder.. This dish is known as "acar" pronounced Ah Chat in Hokkien... It's a Nyonya dish, I was told... Was helping mum to make it....easy..chop everything up and mix it..hehe... It's a Malaysian Nyonya Salad....I would call it, unless anyone knows that it is called something else.. I only know how to eat :)

I helped my aunt to make these "Chai Kuey" or vegetable dumplings, I think it is called. It is made of dough and mixed vegetables then you just steam it..very simple...and also yummy with the right spicy chilli sauce.

I always know that life is never straight - forward for me. Sometimes, it is never this way because I chose it and sometimes it is God's will. I would rather sacrifice anything just to see my parents especially my mum healthy. Before I came back, she has been ill for a while now about 3 weeks. Didn't get any better even though numerous trips to the doctor's. She is weak amd she can't eat anything. Has fever on and off despite taken her medication. I fear that her illness has relapsed. She has polycystic liver disease in which hers is quite severe because her liver is covered all over by cysts and it can malfunction if the cysts grows bigger and overtake her liver's function. This happened 3 years ago and she was truly near death until the doctor did a minor surgery to "make the cysts smaller". After that surgery, she recovered at tremendous rate and now it appears that the devil is at work again. It is not confirmed yet but she will go to the GH for another check-up and then w...

I am finally back in Penang. Well, all in all the journey was smooth with just some slight bumpy ride with Ian. Bumpy ride as in he was considerably quite good except when we are taking off and landing. He didn't want to wear the seat belt. So I sort of half held him with no seat belt on. What to do! He was crying and screaming his head off refusing to be restrained even though I tried to distract him. Throughout the whole journey, he only had an hour and half nap. He was up and down the seats and playing with the toys. Luckily he did watch some of the kid's programme on the plane as well like Dora. So that kept him on the seats for a while on and off..haha. I was lucky to get an empty seat next to me so we had the whole row. Not bad.By the time we reached Penang, he was really tired because overall he had been awake for almost 24 hours (woke up at 5am the day we flew out). So, I am still a bit jet lag, Ian as well, sleeping and waking up at odd hours. He loved going out and seems...

What Else Can Go Wrong???!!!!

This is just great! Just when I hope that everything would go smoothly before I go back this Sunday....*shake head*.. In my last post, I mentioned that Ian was not well. He was quite bad actually, had to take him to the doctor's twice last week. Once on Wednesday, and then Friday. He was given amoxicillin (antibiotics) and prescribed Ventolin and becotide inhalers with the contraption that goes with it ..haha..I don't know what it is called.I thought that he would be alright after the first visit but no...had to go back because he was coughing non-stop the whole day and night..couldn't sleep.. I was scared that he will be asthmatic because I am, you see. So went back again on Friday. The doctor gave him some steroids called Soluble Prednisolone Tablet 5mg, just 9 tablets enough for 3 days. It worked wonders..immediately and effectively though, he is still a bit phlegmy but at least he is no longer wheezing or coughing badly.Phew..thought that was the end of all that caper...BUT N...
