Carpe Diem
2008-03-24 14:44:00
I took my chance today, I seized the day. And bloody hell I applied for a job today. Damn, right! I did! Yay!I've been thinking a lot about applying for a job as a call center agent. I didn't have the confidence to do it before even though my blogger friends advised me to apply as one. And I did today (I've applied online before but never got a call, xcept for one but I couldn't hear it..they haven't called back).I was forwarded by JobStreet Select in some call center agency in Sucat. I was not going to go this morning but i thought, it's now or never. I'm going to seize the day, take my chances and be brave. And I think I did it today.I arrived this morning at the company, not really knowing where I was going I know I was going to get lost but I didn't. Anyway, to make the story short I got there, waited, took an exam, got through the exam, waited, interviewed, waited, took a speed exam, waited, and got a final interview. Yay!After the final interview the guy who interviewe...

My Holy Week-End
2008-03-22 14:00:00
These last three days had been fantastic. The Holy Week trip is a very much awaited trip for our family. It's the only time that we get to go far (sometimes really far) from our province and enjoy ourselves. Yes, Holy Week isn't anymore a week of prayer and fasting, it is a time for vacation. THE RIDE This baby may be small but this thing had been to Pampanga and Zambales. It's actually pretty slow but I prefer this than riding in a car. In this small truck we do have a centralized air-conditioning system and a natural air freshener, very natural. For this trip it ran 30-50 kph on paved/good roadsand it runs 5 kph on rough roads, which apparently we passed by a lot of times probably more or less 10 kms of rough road. And so I'm begging Governor Vilma Santos-Recto to please fix the road leading to barrio Hukay for better access in that place. The beach there was definitely good.THE INTRUDERS Japi (me), MiMi, KenKen and Jeri Together with my parents, my uncle and my siste...

I came home today from a job interview. I was going to talk about that but apparently I'm running out of time it's almost 8 and my favorite soap will be on in 30 minutes and I'm chatting away in MySpace...arghhhh!!!Anyway, I've been completely lost all day. The job interview was kind of good. I was really lost the the second part of the interview and I also felt kind of clueless (who's interviewing me?) and I forgot if I was going to wait for the result etc.I'm so running out of time I just wanna that I'm going to be gone for Maundy Thursday and Friday (what is friday called?)...I'm going to be on...V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N...and we're going back on Saturday...Lots of pictures to show and stories to tell...I'll be back soon. I hope you guys have a wonderful Holy week! Remember God!
Books, Books, Books!
2008-03-18 09:03:00
I don't know if you guys already know, I'm addicted to books. Yes! I am addicted to books.Today I was searching through entrecard gift shop and I saw some books for sale there (it was just 2 books) and I thought it was fantastic! I have a lot of credits and I've absolutely no idea where to use them. I once bought an ad for a day in some website but books, real books! (not e-books, God forbid...I don't like those things) the idea is extremely good, I think. I got really excited and sent a message to the seller. Apparently the add covers only the US territory. I asked the seller if he would consider sending it in the Philippines for twice the amount of credits he advertised...he told me that he'll have to know how much it would cost him.I want books...books...books to add in my collection. So if anyone is interested to send me they're USED BOOKS for the entrecard credits or for an ad on my blog...just send me a message on the shoutbox and let's see what I can do.I was wondering...

Online Dating
2008-03-18 03:58:00
Yesterday I satisfied myself with looking for a job online, specifically call center jobs. My mind was totally blank at that time. I kept thinking what should I do to have a difference in my life. I thought and thought while I was searching for call center jobs and then I remembered the survey I took a couple of weeks ago. There was a question about online dating there. Honestly, I never did like online dating much. I sort of think people who are so desperate to look for a partner sign themselves up on an online dating site. I also think it's not safe.Well, nothing is safe. Blogging is not safe. Posting your picture on social websites is not safe. Walking is not safe. Eating is not safe. Drinking is not safe. Breathing is not safe. See? Nothing is safe at all. It's a matter of taking chances and that's what I did. That's what I've been doing for quite some time now, I've been taking chances. So yesterday I signed up for an online dating site (not telling you all what site). Lol...

Palm Sunday
2008-03-16 07:04:00
We went to church this morning for the celebration of the Palm Sunday , there were tons of people. Since there were so many people inside we satisfied ourselves in standing outside the church, where it was so hot. It didn't really matter to me, it's nothing compared to what Jesus experienced.I don't really remember anything about going to church on palm sundays at 'yung palaspasan..maybe it was the first time I attended one, idr.Anyway, there were a lot of kids outside with their families and I think it's not good at all that they're there. Sure the parents want to bring their kids and show the tradition...but imagine it was so hot, there were too many people and we can't even move and there's a baby who's under the sun...he doesn't even know why he's there...poor thing.By the time the mass was ending the priest said that he will bless the palaspas and that we should not move in our respective places and that he'll just come to us. When the priest got to the place where ...

Reminiscence of the Holy Week and more
2008-03-14 09:40:00
I dunno how long I've been gone but I felt like it's already been a week since my last post, I dunno. I've been oh so nervous about finding a job and you'll all be glad to know that I did actually apply to 2 positions in the government. No results yet. The first one I applied yesterday and the second one just a couple of minutes ago via internet.Yesterday after applying for the job in Intramuros I went straight to Manila Cathedral and prayed that I may be considered when the position is vacated and I would pass the exam for the position.Enough of that sob, boring, depressing talk about finding a job. I want to talk about other things: Like how beautiful Intramuros and the Manila Cathedral is (I'm so feeling the Holy Week Season now), how I love having the Holy Week Season and Reminiscence about my past Holy Week Vacations/Trips.INTRAMUROS and MANILA CATHEDRALDuring the Spanish times Intramuros became the center of the Spanish Government and nobility. And the Spanish influence i...
Proud To Be Pinay?
2008-03-12 06:34:00
Recently the Philippines is becoming more famous worldwide not because the country is getting rich or the Filipinos discovered the fountain of youth but because we're number 1! Yes...number 1! Number 1 most corrupt country in Asia!Isn't that fantastic?Nah...it's really depressing..well there's more things to be depressed about. I just hope it would stop!Am I still proud to be a Filipino?Of course. I an and always am proud to be a Filipino. Even if corruption is widespread, even if the education is declining and even if most Filipinos doesn't care. I am proud to be a Filipino.Well it's not only about corruption. Our kababayan Ramiele Malubay is on the top 12 of American Idol! Fantastic...In season 3 we have 2 representatives, Jasmine Trias and Camille Velasco (I don't even think they can speak Filipino, LOL)..Anyway, here's our girl..singing...Don't forget to watch this afternoon on QTV 11 6 pm live via satellite and the replay is...not sure..^_^

I am setting aside my cover letter task for tonight just to give you all an update of what's happening with me for the last few days.FRIDAYI heard my parents and my sister talking about me. About me being jobless and not putting my mind onto the last job I got, i.e. my substitute teaching. That night I missed my favorite primetime tv shows. SATURDAY Silence. Silence. Sobs. Sobs.SUNDAYStarting to find jobs on the net. I applied for some esl teaching I saw in some websites, esl teachers wanted in China. I never checked if it's real, I was so desperate I kept filling up those forms they have.I also bought the newspaper. Saw jobs that are so not exact, I wonder what they really want. I'm answering to one of the Ads now, and I'm making a cover letter for that tonight but apparently I have to set it aside for a while to blog (I miss you, oh blog!). My fortune increased by 1,000 pesos. My mom came home from the supermarket with Shawarmas, pitas, and donuts. Yum!Our poor little dog die...

My Horoscope Today
2008-03-07 10:11:00
I don't know about other people but I love, love reading horoscopes. Here's what my horoscope says for today:LeoJuly 22 - August 22 Your sign is particularly inspired by and sensitive to crisis situations. But what that means is that you cannot stand to see other people suffer... but sometimes even you suffer, because you don't allow yourself to do the things you like best, and the things that help you to feel fulfilled as a person. Why don't you think about going easier on yourself, just for today. Try it, you might like it!So true...*sobs*Hmmmn..I just remember my horoscope for this year said I'm gonna be lucky, right....hmmmnnn...Nasa tao ang gawa, nasa Diyos ang awa. In my case there's no gawa so I guess Diyos is not looking up on me..whatever that means.

2008-03-04 15:06:00
*Sigh* Today, my father and I went to the Napolcom Regional office to inquire for the examination required to enter the police force. *Sigh* I was asked if i had a waiver, a height waiver. Apparently I'm a little less than the required height which is 5'2. I'm 5'1 and a half. *Sigh* I was determined to take the exam and enlist in the police force. There are those police who doesn't know anything and I believe I can do better than them. *Sigh* So my father and I went to go to other office in the neighboring province. It was far. We got lost. We were tired. The wind blew even harder.*sigh* We got there. And well I asked if that was the place to get the height waiver. They told us that there's no such thing. The only thing you can get is the Cultural Minorities Waiver, that is someone who is a member of an Indigenous peoples, which I am not. Regardless, you have to get the certificate. A policewoman who was in the office (she's not in uniform) said we can get it in a c...
Oh, It's March!
2008-03-01 16:56:00
It's already the 2nd day of March ! How time flies!I've been thinking:Are cops in the Philippines exempted from paying transportation fares? When I was in the University and traveling by bus a policeman rides the bus and he doesn't pay. Last week I was in a jeepney and a policeman with a woman rode the jeepney, the woman paid but the policeman she's with, didn't. So are they exempted in paying jeepney and bus fares? And is it really okay to take ambulances and police cars on Sundays or any day not related to work. Like, the other day it was some neighbor's birthday...and he knows everybody. He invited people with cars and one of them has the police car. It parked in front of the door of our store and we're open! We're obviously open! And he parked in line with the doorway...how do our customers can come in easily. I told the cop not to park there. And he said he's on a hurry...it wasn't even a crime seen and even if he's on a hurry he wouldn't park it there...it's not a c...
The Worst Helper Of All Time
2008-02-29 21:27:00
Well, that would be me.Yesterday I got the realization that I'm really sucking the helping my mother thing and well...I never actually follow orders, I do what I want. I hardly get them anyway, when I do I get annoyed i.e. if it's something that I already know I should do.I wake up late but not today it's like 4:30 am and I'm blogging away. The standard time for waking up to help my mom is 5 am, so that I can prepare the ingredients she needs to cook the foods we're selling. I wake up at about 6 am, yesterday 6:30.In the mornings 'til 1 o'clock pm (our 1st closing time), I pretty much do whatever I want. And I have the feeling she wanted to scream at me for not doing this and that. She can't do that, I'll get pissed and my work will be terrible. But I got pissed yesterday morning. She was talking about my celfone, which I still don't have and it's just annoying. I got piles of dishes to wash and she's blah blah blah blah blah.I'm not such a fan of helping her, not becau...

President Evil
2008-02-18 15:59:00
They just called Honorable Madame President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo "president evil" today at the hearing in the overpriced ZTE Broadband deal held at the Senate. Very clever, I wouldn't even thought of that.I wonder where will all these hearings on the senate and the ombudsman go? Nothing ever happens.Anyway, I just want to say that the poor Filipino citizens are very much unhappy with everything that's going on in the Philippine Political Arena. Meat prices are so high, my father sells meat and I'm not sure if he's still selling tomorrow...it's getting expensive these days and my father is not earning anything out of selling 'em. Small businesses are closing. Prices of goods are just way way expensive. Apparently, this is not an issue. Not an issue! What's going on! The government's priority is saving their asses from the ZTE Broadband scandal (which may apparently be true) and to strengthen the peso...which we don't even get what we benefit from it. They say there's pro...

By 2025 Every Woman Will Have 4 Husband
2008-02-17 08:08:00
I was scavenging on some old papers and magazines yesterday and I found a MOD magazine dated March 9th, 1984, three years older than I am. It's from my aunt's old magazines collection, more like junk.I've read a couple of articles from different MOD magazines and they're pretty interesting. For this issue, March 9, 1984, what caught my attention is not the article about Natalie Wood's tragic death but a certain article about predictions for the year 2001."By 2001 every man will have 3 wives"--in big letters, interesting.I'd like to focus this blog post in that specific PREDICTION.Sure, some men have 3 wives, may be more or less, in 2008 since 2001 is way way over. But I believe this is more common in Islam. I'm excluding the fundamentalist religion somewhere in America where men have 15 (more or less) wives, saw that on CNN.How come men get all the fun? What if, by 2025 every woman will have 4 husband and she'll never have to lift a finger for the rest of her life.4 types of h...

The New Drama on TV
2008-02-12 09:02:00
We Filipinos love soaps and dramas on TV. I love soaps and dramas. I even cry and get mad when the antagonist does something terrible with the protagonist. I am that crazy about soap operas. And oh I even stop using the PC when my favorite Filipino soaps and Korean dramas are on tv.Being a drama/soap opera fanatic it's just normal that I make up my own tv dramas in my head. Like if the soap last night is sooooo lame I would think of something to make it better. I even thought I could make my own TV drama, i wanted to make it like the ones they show in America. Like Kyle XY, I think it was really good unlike the sci-fi fantasy series/soap opera/drama they show every night with not so believable computer animation. It's really lame...and lol I watch it anyway. There's also a drama about politics. Why not make a drama about politics? In America they have this show called The West Wing and others. That will be a good idea for a TV show and it's never been done in this country before....

The Flower Farm Tour
2008-02-10 14:53:00
We went to Tagaytay yesterday afternoon with my Uncle's family to visit a fair. We all kinda thought it's going to be a festival (i.e. me and my mom) but we ended up in a fair, it was cool though (it cost a hundred pesos per head, shocking!)...a first time. Well initially when we were told we're going to a farm we thought we're going to see lot's of flowers...ah...but no...we didn't see any at first. We only saw a lot of flowers at the latter part of the trip when we were toured in the farm. This is what greeted us, old trees with tons of spiders I'm not sure if this particular tree has one. Ewwwwww!!! I hate spiders. I couldn't even look up the trees. Spiders are everywhere at that place, really scary. This is our tour guide in one of the green houses. This greenhouse houses sunflowers and other flowers that I don't know the names. One thing's for sure there were also light bulbs, for lighting. This reminds me of a chicken coo my grandma used to have, there were light bulb...

How I lost my Job in One Day
2008-02-07 16:56:00
Didn't I said I got a job yesterday? Well, I just quit today.I did got the substitute teaching position in some elementary school near town yesterday, after submitting the advice letter from the District Office on Tuesday. When i gave it to the principal he immeadiately considered it. I was accepted. He gave me an overview of what I should do (I guess). Here's some of what he told me:He (the principal) was frank and brutal. Knowledge is not that important because it can be build in the next grade levels. What is foremost important is to teach values. Always make sure that the inside and outside of the classroom is clean and show that you are strong in front of the children so they won't scare the heck out of you.But the problem is, that's not really what I need to hear as a substitute teacher. If I didn't ask what subjects I was going to teach and what grade level, he wouldn't have told me and I'll be surprise to the max! He told me I will be teaching 3rd grade students and I...
