Animal Style!
2007-10-21 00:14:00
Hey guys.. My goodness.. I didn't even realize how long it has been since I last update! Time passes so fast here! Its like I'm in another world and everything on earth is still passing by while I'm having my own life here. Its so weird! Hard to describe but..I miss Malaysia.. Boohoo.. I miss the food especially. I know that's what all Malaysian says when they are overseas but I tell you.. the food in Malaysia is really one of a kind. I can't find any Malaysian restaurants over in O.C. Or maybe I just don't go out of my university. Whatever it is.. I'm totally deprived of Char Kuew Tiao, Nasi Lemak, Fried rice, Maggi Mee Goreng, Asam Laksa.. Sigh.. I should stop torturing myself here.. Boohoo.. They do serve curry here once in a while, but its either Japanese curry which doesn't really taste like real curry, or the Indian curry here which also doesn't really taste like the curry we have in Malaysia. It doesn't have the authentic feel that we have in Malaysia. The taste is...

Do we have the same moon?
2007-10-02 04:03:00
I love taking pictures of the moon nowadays..I dunno.. but I have this feeling that the moon over in California is much bigger than in Malaysia. I know.. I am not logical at all but I swear.. the moon here is so terribly big and bright. Just the other day, I saw the moon rise from the mountains! It was so beautiful! Moon rise! Haha.. Ever heard of that?People say that you look at the moon when you miss someone that is apart from you because the other person may be looking at the moon thinking of you too..Do you think that is true? When you really truly miss someone, and when you look into the moon, you somehow feel closer because you are looking at the same moon? But what about the time differences? Did they have the explanation for that? How can people from different parts of the world look at the same moon when the moon comes out at a different time?I miss Cody..http://www.text-link-ads.com/xml_bl ogger.php?inventory_key=074S6E16OYNQXLZR0 FKM
Holidays are here!!!
2007-10-02 03:46:00
Oh my goodness, I can't believe how fast time is passing for me! One minute is August where I just checked-into my dorm rooms and now its October and everybody is preparing for Haloween! Its so crazy I tell you..Halloween here is a totally big celebration. As I am speaking now, my university is setting up commitees to have a haunted house in the university itself! In Malaysia, Halloween is just another day of school or work. Its interesting how when you actually know about all these holidays but just don't celebrate them. I mean, I read about Halloween and Thanksgiving and how its celebrated in books and even watched it on TV, but to actually experience it real life is a totally different story. I'm quite excited! Hehe..Wonder if there's gonna be anybody that will invite me to their place! =PAfter that is Christmas Holidays ! Even now, I noticed there are Christmas decorations around the malls.. People are actually starting to shop for presents! And now with the wonders of the int...
What is a Malaysian Chinese?
2007-09-28 18:18:00
Ever since coming to the United States, people have been asking me where I come from. Well.. the obvious answer would be from Mala ysia. I'm proud to be a Malays ian . As a matter of fact, I'm the only Malaysian in the whole campus! Haha.. Well.. there's actually another girl who's a Malaysian too but she moved to the United States when she was around 11 years old and she wants to give up her citizenship! So.. haha.. that doesn't really count! =PBut what people don't understand is when they ask what race am I! Am I a Chinese ? When I say I am, they would then give me a wide-eyed look and say, "Really? So you're from China?"."No.. I'm from Malaysia""Huh? But you're a Chinese!""Yeah, but I'm Malaysian.""Oh? So you're a Malay Chinese?""No, Malay is Malay. Chinese is Chinese. We have a lot of races in our countries. We have Indians too""Really? So you're not a Malay? How come? What is a Malay? How do they look like?"This question is so funny I tell you. I'm sometimes am speechl...
Do you have Home Insurance?
2007-09-28 18:08:00
This is a sponsored post.My family is looking to look for a new house to buy. Because my dad is transfered to another country, it is important that my family feels at home especially since its a totally different country from where we came from. It is really important that my mother feels at home and not feel homesick because its a totally different environment of what she is used to. Looking for a new house is definitely not easy. Once you get through the exciting part of actually finding your dream house, you still have to go through all the boring paperwork to finally have your house under your name.Do you have insurance for your house? What if something bad happen to either your house or the things inside? Home insurance is important for the what if's of the day. You just never know! Its scary to think about it but its better to feel safe than sorry. Don't you agree? That's another thing that people should really take into consideration. Make sure you find an insurance that i...

Dell Printers
2007-09-21 18:04:00
Being in college is really a huge difference compared to being in high school. You really wont know how much of papers you need until you actually get here yourself. Practically everything is paper. You write papers, you read papers.. Everything!!!I print papers by the hundreds every month. I feel so bad for the trees I know but.. =( I don't like reading PDF files. You can't highlight them or mark them. And your eyes get so tired after a while. There are printers all around the campus for me. But sometimes, when you finish your paper 5 minutes before class, and you realize the printer in your dorm is having one of her moods again, you know you're doomed!!!Its really that bad. I'm not exagerating. Printers are students lifeline now. It can either save or break you. That's why I really want my own printer.Better yet if its a printer scanner copier. Dell Printers are personally my favorite. They are definitely a trustable brand and you get can it online easily. Online shopping is o...

Lunar Eclipse
2007-09-18 10:11:00
I know this is long overdue but there was a lunar eclipse recently in my university. It happened September 4th around 2am to 5am. I was so reluctant to sacrifise my sleep but I was thinking of my wonderful imaginary readers that I thought, "What the heck! What is a few hours of lost sleep compared to the joy of my imaginary readers right?"See how great I am?Well.. it was also more towards thinking that this would be my last time seeing a lunar eclipse if the thing about it appearing once in a 1000 years is true. The start of the adventureSlowly..Beautiful right?Uh-Oh.. the moon is disappearing!Oooh.. Note the color change?I love this!Sorry guys.. this is the end of it.I din stay up till 5 am so you will notice that the pictures only go one way. It climaxes but doesn't go down! Haha.. But its almost the same right? You just put the pictures the other way around. You know what I mean. The process was so slow it was torturing. The last time I saw an eclipse was like just 30 minutes. Want a healthy skin?
2007-09-18 06:22:00
This is a sponsored post.Ah.. ever since coming to the US, my skin has taken a rather bad turn. I though after turning the big two-O, I would escaped the horrors of being a teenager which mainly constitutes having major acne problems. But NO... No such luck for me. I'm having small little 'friends' popping out on my sweet young face and I'm not loving this at all! I thought my skin would love it here because its not as hot and humid as our wonderful good ol Malaysia but alas.. she doesn't seem to like the dry windy Californian weather too.My skin is so confuse I tell you!I heard somewhere of the wonders of the Gāc (Momordia Cochinchinemis Spreng) fruit, which is a tropical superfruit, is found abundantly on vines all over sub-tropical Asia, especially in Vietnam. It contains Beta-carotene, a natural carotenoid antioxidant which helps boost the immune system and assists the skin?s cellular rejuvenation process. It also contains carotenoids which basic function is to protect the p...

Ok.. I really don't want to be mean or anything but seeing this video really makes me laugh! Haha.. Oh my goodness..Blame the education system for churning out students like these!!! Though I think we can't really blame her because she was under pressure and everything.. but..Sigh.. this just goes to show how the 'aware' the people in our world is. Not only the United States but every other place. Youth are basically not as aware as they should be concerning world issues. I admit I'm not as aware as I should be. I don't like reading the newspapers. But if we really wanna take action to make the world a better place, we have to equipt ourselves with as much knowledge as possible.Poor girl. She's just one of the many million 'average' kids but everybody is making jokes at her expense. Tired of the boring old places?
2007-09-17 19:09:00
This is a sponsored post.Do you often go to the same old places over and over again? The Steakhouse down the street, the old pub that you visit every weekend. DO you frequent these places because you love it or you have no idea where else to go?I know I face that problems sometimes. I get so bored with the usual places that sometimes I rather stay at home and sulk! I always love to try new places but where do I go? I don't wanna just go into a random shop and discover that the food they serve is horrible. The Trustedplaces.com is a wonderful site to discover new places to eat, drink, or just plain chilling out in London or anywhere in the world. What's more, if you find a place that you absolutely love, you can even post a review and share it with everybody. So what are u waiting for? Remembering September 11th
2007-09-12 05:45:00
Being here in the United States has a different feel for the tragedy of September 11th . I remember when this happen, my family and I were having a holiday in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and during breakfast the next day, we saw the news on TV. We didn't know what really happen or how serious the whole thing was. Innitially, when we saw the flashbacks of the plane crashing onto the twin towers, we thought it was some kind of show.Only after watching it for a little while longer did we realized what was happening. But even then, it really didn't hit us. When we got back to KL, I had some friends who told us that they were watching television that night itself (the time difference is that it was during the night when it happen!) and the show suddenly stopped and there was this news showing the twin towers crashing down. Some kids actually thought it was Gozilla in the making. But today, my university had a memorial service. And listening to the students and faculty talking about how it was ...

Looking for furnitures for your new home?
2007-09-11 03:42:00
Ever since moving into my dorm room, I have been obsessed with finding stuff to decorate my room. But everything seems to be so expensive! Being a student is really not easy. Students are broke!!! And that is the absolute truth!!!Though I have my own room in my dorm, but it is really small. I can't really fit in any other furnitures. But in this experience, I got a taste of how decorating your own place would be like! I would definitely start with my dining furniture because that's the place where I would eat!!! I love food! I can't wait to start buying my own dining room furniture, decorating it with paintings and stuff!!!Maybe I would even buy formal dining room furnitures for my house! Who knows, I may be some great politician when I grow up and the president of United States would come for dinner. By then I'm sure it would not be the current US president. God forbid!I would have a super long Dining Room Table with elegant table cloth, and candles on top. Wouldn't that be ni...

Celebrating Independance Day alone!
2007-09-08 00:51:00
Hmm.. living in US for around a month now has really made me appreciate Malaysia more. Its undeniable that the standard of living here is much higher and the shopping here is absolutely fantastic, but one still misses home. Even though it may not be as good.I celebrated Malaysia's National Day alone here. I was the only Malaysian in the whole university so there wasn't anyone for me to go 'Merdeka!' with. It's funny though. I never really fully appreciated or felt the need to go out and celebrate, but when you're the only one, it's kinda different. I felt that I had the responsibility to tell everyone that 31st of August 2007 was Malaysia's National Day and we're celebrating our 50th Anniversary.I didn't do any elaborate party and cook curry chicken for everyone. Though I wanted too but had no idea how. I just went on and wore my baju kurung (Tradisional Malay outfit) to class that day. It was kinda weird though, everyone wearing jeans, acting all trendy and fashionable an...

Storage Cabinets
2007-09-05 19:43:00
This is a sponsored post. One thing about Malaysian's house is that we don't really have such thing as garages. I remember watching American shows and noticing that they have a special room just for their cars. I was super amazed by it. The garage door would slide up and down and sometimes people would accidentaly knock their own garage door! And what's more, some garage is not only just to put their cars, it is a place to fit all your junks, or tools. Hence garage sale right? To most people, the garage is like a rubbish dump. All the unwanted stuff are all inside there and can't be seen by the public eye. Fortunately, garages don't always have to be like that. When I have my own house next time, my garage would be nice and comfortable. For my little pink Volkswagen. =)And to fit all my precious junks, I would need nice beautiful Storage Cabin et s.And carguygarage.com has beautiful storage cabinets to put all my stuff in. I just love my campus. Occasionally after having a full meal of the great cafeteria food, I'll take my camera and go around taking pictures. And I found out I have a new love!I love taking street lamps!Don't they look all classy and elegant? It is timeless! Time just stops when you're looking at it. It like you have captured the essence of time in your picture.I know I'm crapping but seriously.. don't you think it's nice?Reminds me of the story in The Little Prince. The part where the Little Prince came to this planet where there was only this boy and a street lamp on the planet. His sole purpose was to on and off the lamp according to the location of the sun. And even though his mission was merely just to on and off the lamp, he did it happily and with great responsibility.Gives you a whole new perspective in life right? What do you think?http://www.text-link-ads.com/xml_bl ogger.php?inventory_key=074S6E16OYNQXLZR0 FKM

Smiley face!
2007-08-20 11:09:00
One thing that I noticed the most when I was in California was how different the car plates were! The car plates here have a totally different style and individuality. Gone was the boring old WGB2133, BGB4932 or what not! What they have over in California is totally different! You can literally put anything that you want! And I mean anything!!! Does this mean that when you register for your car or something, you really put a smiley face on the section where you're supposed to put your car plate number? That is so cool I tell you!!! Seriously!!!It'll certainly put a smiling face to whoever that is dealing with you! I'm sure the owner of this car has everything going on for him or her because he or she brings smile to everyone.Or maybe not. Drug Rehab Referral Service

This is a sponsored post.Back in Malaysia, we have a death penalty punishment for anyone found drug trafficking. I don't really know the details of it but it is enough to know that anything to do with drugs will have a terrible impact on myself. The university that I am in also takes very seriously people that takes drugs. They have a zero tolerance for drugs and violence. And I think this is a very good thing. The heavier the scare, the more it will frighten people from trying it.But what about those that are already addicted to drugs? Its really hard going away from it right? I know of a guy that took him 3 months to be totally clean from it. And it was certainly not an easy path for him. Even after making the determination to stop, you still have a long journey to fight off the addiction. Some people resort to staying with a family or friend to fight off the addiction or some may seek help from a addiction treatment center. Whatever the choice is, the most important thing is that ...

The awareness in making our earth a more healthy place to live in is slowly growing and improving but we still have a long way to go. Plagiarism Checking Services
2007-08-01 01:56:00
Now that I'm gonna start my university life in the states, one of the things that I worry most is regarding plagiarism. I have heard so many stories on how plagiarism can actually ruin your whole learning career! Esp in the States where everything is so strict and unbending! You know why is it so hard for me to adapt? That's because in Malaysia it's much much more lenient. Students do it all the time. Whenever there is a project or assignment that needs to be completed, all the student needs to do is log onto the internet, find the information, copy and paste and you're done. The lecturers will accept it without any questions. Some lecturers may go the extra mile by asking you to do it in another language so you can't copy and paste, but students just translate it literally!I'm not saying that everywhere in Malaysia is like that but it is generally not so strict there. And I don't know whether I can complete my assignments in future with all the strict marking and everything. I...
