Photo Hunt #28 and 29: Wrinkled/Beauty
2008-08-30 05:28:00 I am re-posting the image below, same one I used in last week's PH. For some reason, I couldn't leave my comment and link at the PH home. Anyways, I used the photo again because I think last week and this week's theme can be found in the said photo. Her face may be marred by age and years of hard work , yet, I find her beautiful. Who says being wrinkled and old can't be beautiful? The picture above portrays both. More About: Photo , Beauty , Travels , Nepal , Faces
Friday Fill-ins #007
2008-08-29 08:47:00 1. When I'm sick I'm always telling myself that think that I am not sick.2. When I take a walk, I think about happy thoughts. 3. Money can't buy happiness but it can make your life comfortable.4. Cotton makes me wish to be a little girl again and leather makes me go ooh-lala!5. The strangest person/character I've had lewd thoughts about was Sirius Black. 6. My favorite color these days is green because after a quick scan of our bedroom, I noticed a trend - there's green bedsheets, pillow cases, blankets, drapes, etc. 7. And as for the weekend, tonight I?m looking forward to dinner and movies with my husband, tomorrow till Sunday my plans include driving to Kep with my husband for our first (wedding) anniversary celebration! Extreme Acai Berry
2008-08-28 08:00:00 Since returning from Thailand, I already lost 3kgs. For the first time when I am not trying hard to lose weight, my weight decreased. Actually, I don?t have any radical change in my diet nor skip meals but what I do is eat only healthy food now- more veggies and fruits.Despite the 3kgs weight loss, I am still far from my ideal weight. My arms still look like jumbo sausages and my thighs are as big as logs but, at least, now, they don?t rub together when I walk. I know it?s going to take a long time of exercise and discipline before I finally achieve my ideal weight. But for others who want instant results there are safer and more effective ways to complement dieting. One product that?s getting mixed reviews is the extreme acai berry diet pill. The acai berry usually grows in the Amazon rain forest and its high level of nutritional and health properties are extracted to produce an all-natural weight-loss pill. The pill helps rid the body of all excessive toxic build-ups in the body ... More About: Extreme , Berry , Acai
Hello, we're still here!
2008-08-27 11:06:00 Dear family and friends ? hello! I have gotten out of blogging recently ? sorry for the "blog-blackout". As you can see I am trying to shake procrastination off of me and get back into blogging as I realized it?s already been a month since we returned from Thailand. And when I was finally out of it, that?s when the internet connection went awry due to the road works in our area.So what?s new, you might ask?Nothing much for me. Let me rephrase that ? nothing much that I am unhappy about. After returning from Thailand, we?re pretty much back to normal. Fresh from the Thailand course, Rob is back in the swing of things at the international school where he?s now handling the primary school English. With new teachers in the primary department?s roster, he hopes to implement the new plan for the English curriculum this year. Some teachers were not too welcoming about the changes that he is introducing, and surprisingly the ones clamoring are the Filipino teachers. They think my husband ha...

Black Friday Online - your holiday shopping site
2008-08-22 10:10:00 Last year, I made my Christmas list earlier and it helped me save time and money. I am doing the same this year, but, I will make sure I include my own Christmas wishlist. It is so much easier to have a list already prepared way before the holidays and save you the time and energy when d-day comes. In countries like United States and, perhaps, Canada, there's one major shopping holiday that's marked in every shopper's calendar. It's called the Black Friday and it happens the day after the Thanksgiving. This is one of the most-awaited shopping holidays and almost always the event is one helluva shopping experience. Most retailers publish their ads online offering great discounts and promotions attract customers to various online shopping portals on the net. BlackFridayOnline .com is one of the most popular shopping portals there is and they recently published their offerings for this year's Black Friday event. As early as now, shoppers can now see the products there so they could ... More About: Shopping , Holiday , Site

Tracing telephone numbers
2008-08-22 06:31:00 Recently, just after returning from Thailand, I was deluged by prank calls in the wee hours of the night. I ignored it at first because I thought it would just stop. But it didn?t, so I picked it up only to find out that the most of the callers wanted someone to talk to, like a phone-pal. In other words, they want to practice talking in English. Come on, at that unholy time? And when asked where they got my number and how did they know that I am not a local, the uncouth callers won?t tell or give made up answers. This is one reason I hate having telephones. I wish there?s a caller ID system here where you can trace the prank caller?s name and address and report to proper authorities for actions. But for people in the US and Canada, this is not a problem. People who are constantly victimized by prank and/or annoying callers and telemarketers, there's a company that offers a free look up service where they look up the owner and address of any unknown telephone numbers. My friend who... More About: Numbers , Telephone numbers , Telephone
Litratong Pinoy #009 : Mithi (Wish)
Iyan... More About: Travels , Pinoy

Gas and Electric Fires
2008-08-14 07:36:00 There is something about fires and fireplaces that conjure romantic images in my head ? couple cuddling, sipping wine or making out in front of a fireplace ? blame it on all romance novels that I read during my adolescent years. Romantic notions aside, we humans have depended on fire that it is unthinkable to live without it. Fire is source of life and growth here on earth; it provides us light and heat. In cold countries, there is surely a fireplace ? a common fixture ? in every household to warm them come winter time. Nothing is more comfortable than sitting by the fireplace in a cold winter night. Fireplaces come in many forms - there are wood-burning fireplaces while there are also wood-fed stoves. However, most people want to avoid the hassle of cleaning the fireplace everyday. Thanks to online retail companies like www.hotprice.co.uk, there are now alternatives to messy wood-fed fireplaces. It provides an extensive array of all the leading brands of fireplace manufacturers wi... More About: Fires , Electric

On tenterhooks
2008-08-01 10:35:00 Today is our last day here in Phuket and while I write, R is still in his class, probably being told whether he's a pass or a strong/satisfactory pass. The course is a highly practical one and follows the Cambridge-approved syllabus. The assignments and tasks are not that many but they require the trainee's utmost commitment and concentration. The assessments, both by tutor and by the trainees themselves, are regular. Over-all it was very intense and I admire him for his tenacity and perseverance... So now, I anxiously wait for him to arrive and tell me the good news. We both want this to be over and done with... shake off the dust and get home.

A friend asked about the best diet pills
2008-07-31 08:47:00 Because of my posts about diet pills, I was surprised to receive an email from a friend whom I haven?t seen for a long time. This friend of mine is also horizontally-challenged like me. Besides the usual formalities, she asked me two things: 1) why I didn?t post a picture of me in my sweet bikini, and 2) where to get the best diet pills? So yeah, why is there no bikini photo? My dear friend, the answer to that is very simple. I do not want Blogger to shut down the site. *lol* Yes, I mentioned about the results I am getting from exercising and yoga but my dear, losing weight is such a slow process that whatever results I am noticing, still it doesn?t show much! And believe me, it is even more difficult to lose weight when you are on holiday and there are temptations (read: food!) all around. I think, showing you the bikini is enough ? you just let your imagination go wild!As to best diet pills, it's difficult to say as I am not a user, but fret not, it?s very easy to find out, tha... Photo Hunt #23 - Myself
2008-06-01 11:02:00 Ta Prohm TempleSiem Reap, CambodiaMy first visit to Angkor Wat was unforgettable. It was when going to the great land of Angkor Wat, and walking the same path as the ancient Khmers who lived thousands of years ago; seeing the crumbling ruins, some still hidden in the midst of the jungle - unleashed the Indiana Jones in me. Above is a photo of me at Ta Prohm temple. It is an eerie sight - rubble all over the place with overgrown trees and tangles of tree roots that seem to grab at unsuspecting tourists (see pic) and give it an almost supernatural feel. I got so carried away most of the time, hopping from one pile of rubble to another, that I forgot I was with someone (my husband), and that I was just one of those millions of excited, camera-toting tourists who visit Siem Reap every year. Litratong Pinoy #5 - Hangin (Wind)
More articles from this author:2008-05-29 06:13:00 Windchimes from Japan Ito ay mga wind chimes na gawa sa Japan. Translation:These are wind chimes from Japan. I took this photo two years ago when I was in the Asakusa area of Tokyo. Everywhe... More About: Travels , Wind , Pinoy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
