Happy Birthday To Me!
2009-05-26 06:08:00 I'm getting ever closer to the big 4..0. I'm 38 today and I'll cry if I want to. LOL!!!Hubby took the day off of work for my birthday. I have no clue what we are going to do considering it's going to rain all day. Honestly, sleeping in, going out for breakfast, coming home and taking a nap sounds good to me. Then later going out to dinner would be a bonus.The older I get, the less happier I am about having a birthday and any kind of hoopla surrounding it. But a little pampering never hurt anyone. LOL! This Eagle Cam was installed to provide researchers with an opportunity to monitor a pair of nesting Bald Eagles without any disturbance to the birds. It is being shared with the public to provide viewers with a glimpse of wildlife in its natural environment.This Eagle Cam was made possible thanks to a collaboration with the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey, a non-profit organization dedicated to New Jersey's rare wildlife and providing place-based wildlife education, a requirement of the New Jersey Wildlife Action Plan. The Foundation carries out research projects, develops management plans, encourages conservation practices and educates residents of New Jersey about the wildlife living on their doorstep. Swine flu little risk to pets
2009-05-07 01:24:00 The ASPCA has a message for pet parents worried that the outbreak of the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu, might affect their pets: The virus appears to present little risk of infecting companion animals. ?Currently there?s no data demonstrating any risk of dogs and cats contracting this strain of the virus,? said Dr. Louise Murray, director of Medicine at the ASPCA?s Bergh Memorial Hospital in New York City, in the organization?s recent online newsletter. ?However, owners of pet pigs, as well as farmers, should monitor their animals? health more closely and take steps to limit transmission from humans to pigs and vice versa.?The World Health Organization says the virus is being spread through humans, and that a swine herd in Canada likely was infected by a farmworker who returned from Mexico, according to an Associated Press report Sunday.The ASPCA is advising people who have pet pigs to consult with their veterinarians about a Type A influenza vaccine, which is available and re... Update On Gunner
2009-04-23 02:38:00 GUNNER'S SURGERY WENT WELL. THEY TRIED TO GET MOST OF THE ARTHRITIS OUT OF THE AREA. VET SAID HE SHOULD MAKE A FULL RECOVERY IN TIME. HE HAS EXCELLENT HIPS AND BONES THOUGH. I COULDN'T GO AND GIVE GUNNER LOVE BECAUSE WHEN I CAME TO VISIT HIM, HE WAS JUST FULLY WAKING UP AND HE WAS CRYING FOR ME. THEY JUST CALMED DOWN AS I ARRIVED AT THE VET HOSPITAL. I DID GET A PEAK AT HIM, HOWEVER I HAD TO BE VERY QUIET SO THAT HE WOULDN'T GET EXCITED ALL OVER AGAIN. THE VET ASSISTANTS TOLD ME HE KNEW I WAS THERE, HE PROBABLY SENSED ME EVEN BEFORE I SPOKE A WORD IN THE RECEPTION AREA. I HAD TO CALL THE HOSPITAL A LITTLE WHILE AGO BECAUSE IT'S THUNDERING OUTSIDE AND GUNNER WILL TRY TO GET UP AND GET CLOSE TO SOMEONE. I KNOW THEY DO NOT WANT HIM TO BECOME STRESSED, SO I THOUGHT TELLING THEM WAS A GOOD IDEA. NEXT COMES THE HUGE BILL...ESTIMATED AT $2300.00. I AM LOOKING INTO PET INSURANCE, BUT IT'S A LITTLE TOO LATE FOR THIS GO-AROUND. I ALSO WENT TO THE DOCTORS TODAY AND WAS PRESCIRBED MUSCL... More About: Update , Gunner
