During the last weekend at RWS, we had not much to do. We went for a movie War of the Worlds. It was a nice movie, the concept was well thought off. Something that has been happening in our world itself ( Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies ). Myself and adarsh did some shopping too, we went around Stanford Shopping Center and Hillsdale Shopping Center I left for India on August 7th; reached here on 8th, took the day off on Tuesday. Tools and the ACT needs to be completed by 18th so lots of work ahead :-).

San Diego - Contd

Friday tad,erik and myself went to tour the aircraft carrier USS Midway, anchored at San Diego . It was in awesome condition; it was in service for almost 50 Years, the last one being the Gulf War! Wow. We then had lunch at San Diego and returned back to tad's place. Tad was hosting a barbeque that day, we went to VONS to get the food stuff. Got back and started arranging for the barbeque, this was my second barbeque in my life (first one was at Ujin's place, when i vistied his place last year.), people started coming in late in the evening we had tad's brother come over, erik's mom, patti, carson, his girlfriend and her mom. Ate nice food, hung around there till around midnight and went to back home. Saturday erik and myself went to carson's house to check out his place, he had an awesome mini-bike. Then we went to pickup david(Erik's friend) from the airport. On our way back we raced at K1 Indoor Racing , it was fun racing there, i was the slowest:-(. Then we went back home...

Fidleity Oncenter Issues

Last week i tried to find some time to update the site but was caught up with work :-((. Had to complete 5.6.2-6.0.1 and 6.0.0-6.0.1 upgrade verification in 4 days. Imagine our entrire suite contains 13 applications and about 10 minor tools :-O. To top this i had to do a continuous 40 hours sitting at the offcie last thursday. Aparently our Once nter was throwing Out Of Memory exception when deployed on to a Websphere server. I tried to analyse the application for possible memory leaks using JProfiler. And that itself went dead while taking a heap dump. Finally i had to write a small web application to simulate the memory leak scenario. The issue at last was that when a web application is destroyed Websphere does not relieve the application. So if the application was holding onto some resources, that continues to hog the memory. After some more web application restarts there is no more memory left. As a fix i had to add shutdown and cleanup code all throughout the application, touc...

I have added some more snaps.A set of snaps from Kemmanagundi Trek, this was taken using Bibek's Camera. Another set from Manali Trek - 2001, this was taken using Sangeeth's Camera. This trek is by far the best one that have ever attended. I have also added a comment section for each blog entry. Wow 2 weeks went just like that, could not update the site at all :-((. Hectic schedule both at home and at office. Did my code completion for Keyrotation and CVV2 Backup by 11th, had to goto Sabarimala on the 14th and 15th, had my exams on the 19th and 20th and finally did code complete for Incremental Recaching today ! Phew. Looks like one more round is going to start tommorow, hemant mentioned today that i have to start work on some SDK Autologin stuff with SSO-SAML. I have added Mana li 2005 trip snaps and some personal snaps this time. Though this was supposed to be a trek, bad weather forced us to cut short the trip. I will give it another try sometime this year. In fact it looks like i was not supposed go out during that time. I took about 15 days off from Dec 23rd till Jan 10th and planned for a trip to thailand. Our man Alfred who was supposed to come along had to drop out due to some urgent issue. I thought of updating the blogs section yesterday night. But we had a heartly dinner from Mayuri, so i was feeling too sleepy. :-) I finished the blogs control in the morning. I also refactored the What's New control fixing some minor bugs. Since i was out on the KG Trek last week i have a whole lot of clothes to wash :-((. I also need to trim my hair and need to finish up with my code complete at office. So planning for the next trek has not caught up well. Next weekend may not be possible for Abhijit, the week after that i have my exams and Bibek is going out somewhere. That leaves the last week, looks like the shifts for the production guys may clash :-(. Most likely the last week of feb we can expect something.

Code Refactoring

I have modified the thumbs rendering code to render a max of 6 thumbs per page. Now the thumbnail pages should load quickly. I will stop updating pictures for now, i will add a blog page next.

I have also added snaps that abhijit had sent. I think with a slow connection not all the thumbnails are being loaded, I will modify the thumbnail rendering code to show only a bunch of the thumbs at a time. Next update would be Manali 2005 trip :-O

After pondering for about 6 months finally i have decided to give another try with my website. This time i am determined to get to the bottom of this,(Amar :-)). I am leaving for a short trek this weekend. From monday onwards i will start updating the site in full swing.

On the bright side last week i saw some nice movies. Since the next episode of Smallville is not due till April, missing Allison :-((Bought Shrek 2 from Landmark on sunday. This one was kind of OK not comparable to part one.Nanda had got special screening tickets to Constantine on monday, the movie was awesome.Went for Meet the Fockers with Gaja on wednesday, this too was great :-P.Went for Mayavi with bro on Saturday, This also was good. The story is somewhat different. I am still humming the Seettu Kattu Rani song :-))I had also bought some old tamil movies from Landmark. I have finished Madurai Veeran, Chakravarthy Thirumagal and Malai Kallan. Another 6 more to go. Too bad could not find Mannathy Mannan and Nadodi Mannan.

Now my site comes first when searched with the keyword Peru sWorld , but comes second when searched with Saravana Perumal :-(( Any SEO advice is greatly appreciated.

San Diego

I am at San Diego at present with Erik, visiting his place. Took a 3 day off from office. Drove down to San Diego on 19th night. We are staying at Patti's(Erik's aunt) place. She has got an awesome place, she has decorated the house with all sorts of paintings, snaps, etc. The walls are fully covered with them. On 20th we hooked up with Tad(Erik's dad) and Carson(Erik's brother - He looks like Matthew McConaughey put on some weight. ) went to Del Mar for the opening day of the horse races :-). We watched 8 of 9 races and we sure did some betting ;-). I made about 50$ and lost about 40$, Tad made about 60$ and Erik made about 80$. It was fun there, the place was crawling with people(beautiful people :-)). End of the day we went to the Del Mar plaza to have our dinner, that too was crowded with people coming back from the races. Then hung around there for quite a while, and then left for a bar around the corner. It was amazing to see how much Erik and Tad drank that day. Since i...

Happenings

A lot has happened in the last 45 days. Got an opportunity to visit the US office, went to the Chennai US Embassy for visa and got B1/B2 Visa for 10 years :-). Left for US on July 17th; I am staying at the corporate appartments. It is an awesome place; fully furnished with everything. I have added some snaps of the appartment in the gallery. We went around a lot of places this time. During the first week of arrival, guys here had arranged for the Go Game at San Francisco, it was awesome. We got a long weekend because of July 4th, so went to Santa Cruz and then went to San Jose to see the fireworks. I will add the fireworks videos later. The weekend of 8th July was memorable as we went to attend the Moto GP at Laguna Seca. We camped at Big Sur for three days and drove to the track. It was and awesome experience. I have added all the snaps in the gallery, so check them out.

Updating almost after 2 months.Got a chance last month to go to Coorg with Gajendran,Erik,Adarsh and Alfy. It was fun, i will be adding those snaps taken with Erik's digital camera.Then early this month went out on a trip to Honnemardu dam, that was awesome we spent 2 days in the water swimming, snorkeling, canoeing and surfing. We had camped at one of the islands in the dam. It was a refreshing trip.I had also gone home last week, we booked a Tata Indigo. I test drove it. It was pretty smooth. Thought of working one some new additions apart from photos today. But could not do so as i got sucked in by the Da Vinci Code. Every day i used to read about 2 chapters before going to bed, since today was holiday i thought of reading about 4 chapters continuing from chapter 10. But could not resist, the more i read the more i wanted to read. I ended up reading the whole book. I had also bought Cracking the Da Vinci Code, anticipating that i would be needing some thing like this after read...

I was supposed to have left for a 3 days trek from Kodaikanal to Munnar this thursday. But could not make it. At the last minute hemant asked me to cancel it due to the Fidelity Performance issue :-((.

Got a surprise mail from Ghoshal on sunday, informing me of a yahoo group for our class 10A/B guys. I got an invite from sampath on monday. Even as our QA guys were biting my head off over the Fidelity issue, i couldn't resist going through the postings in the group. Wow the group is alive and kicking. Nice to hear guys and thanks a lot for fishing me out ;-). Also received a mail from Suresh Babu. Last time i saw him was when i was in class 11th, and it was for some competition i belive and place was Erode. Oops it is already 3:50 in the morning i need get some sleep, as tomorrow is the first build to QA with the Fidelity patch hope everything goes fine :-D.

So Long Yodlee

After almost 4 years in Yodlee i have decided to move on and today is my last day at Yodlee. It was amazing working at Yodlee, i learnt as much as i could and contributed as much i could. Being there from 5.x,6.x and 7.x i see the tremendous progress we have made. I am proud to be part of the team. The products are awesome and will sure have an impact in the market. I wish the very best to the team and thanks again for giving me an opportunity to work there.
