Price of A Life.
2008-05-06 06:15:00
As I’m doing my research for a term paper I have to do, I found this article called Sometimes in War, You Can Put A Price In A Life . The article talks about different ways and situations where prices are given to human life. If you would ask anyone rational the price of life they would say that it’s priceless. Apparently some people have thought of “great” ideas of giving price to life. In a certain case they considered $2,000 a reasonable price for Afghanistan’s life. This is a ridiculous low amount for a life, at least in my opinion. This price was given to people who got shot during the war but were innocent people. In the same scenario 50 other people got injured but received no money. It is true that war brings out the worse in people. Even people who die in airplane crashes get more money than this and those are really bad accidents. War is less than an accident. But this is just my opinion. Yasser

2008-03-24 23:27:00
The United State’s is known as the fattest country in the world. And it is slowly getting to be known as one of the most uneducated countries (statistics, not calling people stupid). I came from Dominican Republic where my mom would cook almost every day a decent food (by decent I mean not full of ...

U.S. Border Patrol and Racism.
2008-03-02 21:48:00
Immigration and border patrol’s have now been more focused on catching illegal immigrants at bus stops and at train stations. Yesterday I witness the way they treat people who don’t seem to have the write papers to prove they are legal in the country. When I got in an Amtrak train, border patrol was checking ...

Curious Histories of Generic Domain Names.
2008-01-25 16:21:00
I found this great article in ITworld.com about the history of five generic domain names: milk.com , meat.com, music.com, eat.com and car.com . These would be names worth a lot in the domain real estate business but yet none of them started as what their name says, they were all geeky websites. It would be ...

How To Do Things.
2008-01-19 17:53:00
The great thing about the internet is that when we want to learn how to do something we no longer need a book. We can always search for it online and hopefully find a good website that explains things slowly or at whatever speed you desire. Sometimes it is hard finding these websites that have ...

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
2008-01-15 03:02:00
Finally a new show that I could look forward to watching. The Sarah Connor Chronicles started yesterday (Jan. 13th) and it was a great first show. It reminds me of the first time I saw Terminator I and Terminator II. They even used some famous quotes from the movie like “come with me if you want to live”. They also used the same house where they killed the guy who “created” the war of robots. Just from one episode I could say that it is going to be a great show this season and I recommend it to anyone who likes good shows, specially if you were a fan of Terminator. The whole series is based on what happened after Terminator II, the kid is a bit older and new adventures await. Don’t miss it. Yasser

Steal This Wi-Fi by Bruce Schneier.
2008-01-10 18:09:00
The security expert Bruce Schneier has recently written an article on Wired.com about using Wi-Fi networks that don’t have password protections. His position on this topic is, use it. His own wireless network is not protected so others can use it. The way he sees it is that other people benefit from it. This might ...

Iowa Caucuses, The Presedential Race.

I haven’t been following politics lately because I already feel informed of what is going on. As usual Mike Gravel is always excluded from talking and lately from participating in the Iowa Caucuses . Surprisingly, Hillary Clinton didn’t win at Iowa but it is no surprise that she is in the lead and to me it ...

Changing The World.
2008-01-03 05:10:00
A great way to start 2008 is by thinking of others. We all see the commercials on tv and remember that there are people and kids out there that are less fortunate and need our help. I’m a college student and can’t really afford to be giving away money but I can afford to give ...

I just read the sad news that AOL is discontinuing the Netscape Browse r . This might not mean much to many because they don’t know the importance of Netscape in web development.
