Some time back, I mentioned I was approached to contribute my recipes to a newsletter for the only Halal Food Chain in Singapore. Dancing crabs out of the sea

It's ??'s school graduation cum concert today. The day all parents were waiting for and I can tell you it was worth every minute of waiting!! Overall this year's performance by the students were better than last year's. Their theme this year is God' Marvellous Creation so we saw lots of cute animals and of course under sea creatures like ??, the crab. *wink* We were laughing at some of the performance as their actions were so cute! The costumes were very bright and colourful too! Definitely lots of hard work were put in for this event. I think their hard work were paid off because I can see everyone there enjoying the whole performance.Kudos to the teachers and the children. Thank you for giving us a great performance!

Easy money from Nuffnang

Yeah! I finally got my cheque from Nuffnang ! My first 'pay' cheque after more than 5 years staying at home as a homemaker! It felt good to 'earn' my own money. I just do my blogging as normal and the money just come in. How hard this that?!Anyway, I have read about other Nuffnang members 'complaining' that the money is little and they rather use Advertlets. My goodness! I would give up Advertlets anytime if need to. I'm getting good money from Nuffnang. For me it's about about five times more compared to Advertlets and more ads are coming in for my blog. Thanks!So for those who intend to put up ads in their blogs, go for Nuffnang!

?? when to school today and realised that he didn't have his homework in his bag. I remembered him completing them and also asked him to keep it in his bag. My mistake for not checking.Anyway, I went home and couldn't find that 2 pieces of paper. When I went to fetch ?? from school, we went to see his teacher. I told her we have misplaced the papers and asked if we could have a replacement. This was what happened ...Waving her hand as she walked (she didn't even stop to speak to us) ... ??(teachers)????????????????And she disappeared through the front door leaving us behind.Oh, okay. I'm sorry I ate into your lunch time and it's our mistake for misplacing the homework but shouldn't you being a teacher give a better answer even if the answer is no? Why do I get a feeling that this is a 'too bad, nothing I can do' attitude? To me, it was really rude of her to talk as she walked. We were like half a meter apart! Tell me my expectation of a teacher is just too high.

BBQ-ing in the kitchen

I have a few good friends whom I'm still in touch with after I got married and have kids. Everyone has their own agenda so it quite tough to arrange a gathering. Most of them are busy with work except of me, busy with housework. *giggle* I hardly meet up with friends after I have kids as I find it very tiring to bring the kids along. By the way, I'm the only homemaker. The rest are either single, married with no kids (career women!) or married with kids BUT still working. That's why you see my face is having this light shade of yellow and it's not Jaundice. LOLAnyway, Becky and I were in Facebook sending each other messages last week and the idea of BBQ-ing at my place came up. Yeah, we had BBQ and steamboat in my kitchen. Don't pacify me

I managed to wean-off the pacifier for ?? when he turned one. He cried for a week and it was over. ?? is almost two and a half years old now and is still very attached to it. I decided yesterday I had to do it.My intention was to boil it with bitter gourd (so it will taste too bitter) but I couldn't find those small ones in the supermarket. So, I snipped it almost off instead, leaving half of it hanging on. I showed it to ?? when she asked for her 'tu-tu'.?? : See, tu-tu is spoilt.?? : Ahhh ... spoilt ... (tugging it and it came off)?? : O-oh! Tu-tu ... spoilt. No more!?? : Yes, no more. ?? don't want tu-tu, okay??? : Yeah ...She did asked for it but I kept showing her the snipped off tu-tu to remind her that it was spoilt. The poor girl sobbed to sleep but at least she did not cry loudly and it didn't take that long for her to stop sobbing, compared to ??, who cried non-stop. No wet pants

?? was at home without diaper and I was lazy to let her wear one before we went to a nearby coffee shop for lunch. After 1 1/2 hours later, she did not ask to go to the toilet and was still dry. Yeah!!I'm going to try doing it again next week, bringing her to ??'s school, have breakfast, then to the market. Hehehe ... But this time, I must remember to bring an extra set of clothes and a plastic bag ... just in case.

My plant has been sprouting and blooming again recently. Does this explains why I'm so lucky?! (wished it was money luck though :p)I just received an email from a certain company, who is planning to publish their own (free) magazine, asking to feature my craft ideas in their magazine with byline! Wow! The email mentioned that they will be featured as my column. Does that mean it will be a regular thing? They want to meet me to discuss. Hmm .... I will call them to find out more.This is a pleasant surprise for me as my craft blog has the least visitor count and the least hits compared to my other two blogs. I had to read it thrice to make sure I read it correctly.Anyway, all this got to wait till tomorrow after I speak to them to see how it works. Wish me (more) luck!

The third crab

?? has been very grumpy recently. He told me his teacher switch his place for the graduation performance and now he is the third crab. He grumbled that till now, his teacher still has not change him to the original position.I told him teacher did that for her reason and it okay since he will still be in the performance. Then I found out he is concern that we may not be able to see him as during certain part of the performance, being the third crab would mean the last crab. Sigh! Anyway, I assured him that we would find a good place so no matter which place he is in, we would still have a clear look.Satisfied with my arrangement but still grumpy.

Birthday Dinner

It was ??'s birthday yesterday. I bought him a shirt (boring gift but I can't go to far with 2 kids in tow) with the money I earned through advertisement placements in my food blog. Thank you Nuff Nang! This is the first time I buy a gift with the money I earned since I'm a SAHM. I couldn't have done it without Nuff Nang, so give me more ads, okay? Anyway, I saw ?? looking at that shirt a few times when we pass by the shop. So I guess I shouldn't have made a wrong choice even if it was a boring gift lah.On top of that, I cooked him a sumptuous dinner (sumptuous - I said one lah ... hahaha) a day before his birthday because he said he might need to work late on his birthday. And yesterday, I bake him a cake and made him Longevity Noodles aka Mee Sua. Air-Con in a cup

We bought the kids to Chinatown on Sunday. I haven't been there for years and it's still as messy with so many upgrading works around.We went to Yum Cha for lunch. Our first time there and probably would be our last time too. We would rather go to Crystal Jade if we are going to pay those prices for those standard of food. Anyway, I ordered the Mango Sago and it came with dry ice for the smoke effect. The kids were so excited over it, I had to remove the bowl holding the dessert to let them 'play' with the dry ice. The first thing ?? said when she put her hand in the 'smoke' was .... Air-Con!! Haha ... It did felt like air-con. Smart girl. *wink*We only left when there is no more the 'air-con'. haha ...

Is it worth embarrassing yourself for $9?

Shop & Save have this way of attracting shoppers to buy at their store. For every $15 you spend, you will get a stamp. Get 12 stamps in a month and you will get $9 rebate. Their stuff are not really cheap but since it's the only supermarket near my place, I have no other choice. I don't shop there to get the stamps but if I'm close to complete the required 12 stamps, I'll just buy whatever is needed for the home to keep stock. I don't 'beg' from strangers for stamps.You see, if you go there on the last 2 days of the month, you might be approached by strangers asking you if you have the stamps and if you could give it to them because they are short of a few. Just how many is a few? If it's one or two, go buy something useful to top up lah. If it's more than you are not just short of a few. You might as well give yours away or share with a friend. Two of the regulars doing this are someone I see almost everyday. They are SAHMs. We often see each other on the street.Yesterday,...

Am I a good boy today?

?? had been a VERY good boy yesterday. He tried to be nice and polite all day. No screaming and shouting at ?? and ?? was so happy to play with him. There will lots of running and jumping around. Lots of laughter. They enjoyed each other company.I told him at the end of the day that if he wants to have an enjoyable day everyday he must learn to control his temper. And since ?? is learning from him, if he start shouting and screaming at her, she will do the same to him and he didn't like that.I have to remind him daily and hopefully such behaviour will continue.

?? is toilet-trained. I think.I have tried to make ?? get used to doing her big and small businesses using the potty and the toilet bowl for a while. But she cried each time I wanted her to sit down so I gave up training her. I didn't want to stress her. About 2 weeks ago, I made her diaper-less during the time she was playing at home. The floor was wet for a few times. Lately, the floor had been dried the whole time she was diaper-less. Hopefully, she is able to hold her bladder better then I will bring her out without her wearing diaper.

The other day when we were out, ?? telling me how he would remember the spellings of the words that we taught in school. He emphasised the sound of the first letter of the word before spelling it.All of a sudden, ?? said Air ... Elephant . I was surprised but thought I could be mistaken. So, I test her on a few more letter sounds and she could either say out the alphabet associated with the sound or a word beginning with the sound. And it looks like she knew almost all the sounds of the alphabets. I haven't even taught her phonics!Wow! How, when and where did you learn them, ???!

When we are not fighting

I'm not sure about yours but my kids fight a lot and they fight for all sort of stuff. Basically, because the younger is bossy and holds on to everything and the elder one gets angry over the sightliest thing. The elder one doesn't want to ask or talk nicely to the younger one but the younger one will only share if you ask or talk to her nicely. Haiz!Thank God they don't fight all the time. Of course I have to remind them constantly to be nice to each other. I'm waiting for the day when I don't have to remind them. It will be a long wait. Being Crabby

?? has been telling me about how crabs walk for a long time. I was wondering why is he so interested in how it walk and why he loves imitating it, till his school send us a consent form for our kids to participate and buy their costumes for their Gradation Concert.His classmates and him are putting up an item about sea creatures and he is the crab! So that's the reason why the sudden interest in crabs. LOL Looks like they have been practising for a while. He even showed me how the other sea creatures move. So cute!I can't wait to the their performance. He is already 'acting' so cute without the costume. I wonder how it would be like with all the fishes, seahorses, clams, jellyfish and crabs together. Bet it will be very colourful and adorable. Guess what's the song they will be dancing to? *Wink*
