2009 All Star Game
2009-07-15 06:17:00
Congratulations to the American League (again *grunts under breath*). I wanted the National League to win of course. I am not certain about what the issue is, but one of the announcers feels that it has to do with the designated hitters.  Minus three points to Most Valuable Player Carl Crawford mispronouncing President Obama’s name.  ...

Happy Independence Day
2009-07-05 05:24:00
Happy Independence Day United States of America.  This morning started off very gloomy with lots of rain and cloudy skies.  This fortunately allowed the entire family to sleep in late.  The twins woke up before me… I know because I heard them, but JT and I were able to sleep until 9:15 a.m. and I ...

Rest in Peace Michael Jackson
2009-06-26 06:59:00
After work today, I headed to the ice machine to load my cup with ice and water.  As I passed the breakroom, I saw Breaking News on CNN: Michael Jackson taking to UCLA after cardiac arrest.  I paused and wondered if he was okay and then I went on about my business.  Of course as ...

The graduation ceremony last Saturday was everything that I thought it would be plus more. The turnout was very nice for a classroom of about 21 children. There were many loved ones and friends supporting the graduating preschool class of 2009. William and Keisha, along with their classmates performed songs and dances in the ...

On Saturday, June 13, 2009 my wonderful children, William and Keisha, will graduate from headstart.  My husband and I are very proud of them.  They have learned so much over the past school year… things like: writing their first and last names, counting to 100, improving on handwriting skills, letter recognition in words, spelling two, ...

Restaurant City on Facebook
2009-06-09 06:22:00
Sadly, it does not take much for me to get addicted to internet crack. My recent addiction was Spymaster and now Restaurant City . Restaurant City is a simple Sims-like game that is integrated with Facebook . What makes the game simple is that there are not many actions that you can take. Your job is ...

Are You Thinking What I?m Thinking
2007-03-03 14:41:01
Why does it feel like shortened work weeks are more difficult than an entire work week? Monday was a holiday, so I was off from work. Four days. Four days that should have been easy… Of course not, you cannot apply logic and reason to anything that has to do with my job. The week ended a lot better than it began thanks to a few pep talks from dear friends. The highlight of my night: William counted to ten on his own for the first time. I was very excited. I cheered for him, congratulated and hugged him. Keisha could not be outdone… she immediately ran over to count to ten. She did it about 5 or 6 times before I stopped her by asking her to go get her pajamas. I have a feeling my twins are going to be very competitive as they grow up. This evening I began to clean off my desk. I threw away a lot of crap but as I look down at at… it doesn’t look like I did much to it at all. My desk stays cluttered. I think the only time my desk has been clean is 1....

Six Stages of Change
2007-03-03 14:41:01
Prochaska, DiClemente & Norcross: 1. Precontemplation: A person is unaware of an issue or unwilling to change something. Common questions/statements in this stage: “I don’t think that there is anything wrong with doing this.” “I don’t see what the big deal is?” 2. Contemplation: A person considers the possibility of change. Common questions/statements in this stage: “I don’t feel that I can ever change but I can’t stay like this.” “I wonder if things can ever get better?” 3. Determination: A person is ready and determined to make change. Common questions/statements in this stage: “I can and I will overcome this.” “Chan g ing will be difficult but it is better than staying the same and being miserable.” 4. Action: A person is ready to take actions that will modify identified issue. Common questions/statements in this stage: “I know that self injurous behavior reduces my q...

Windows Automatic Updates
2007-02-23 02:39:01
I generally update all of the Wind ows Updates … especially the security ones. I do not have any of my computers set on automatic. I have it set where I see the popup and I can make the determination of whether or not I want the update. I refuse to download Internet Explorer 7 and the following: Windows Geniune Advantage Notification. According to Microsoft, this tool notifies you if your copy of Windows is not geniune. If your system is found to be non-geniune, the tool will help you obtain a licensed copy of Windows. Even if your copy of Windows is geniune, why would you want this update? I just think this is more crap that Microsoft wants on your PC.

Pimple from Hell
2007-02-21 08:36:01
I have a pimple from hell above my right brow and I cannot get rid of it. The bastard came about a few days ago and now it is bringing about headaches. It feels larger than what the actual size is… probably one centimeter. I put a hot press on it this afternoon. No luck. I am going to look up some home remedies. My mom suggested applying Preparation-H or toothpaste. I don’t think that I have any Preparation-H in my medicine drawer. Never had a need for that. I suppose that I will try the toothpaste. I’ll try anything within reason because my head really hurts and this pimple is not giving up. I’ll keep you posted on the results. If you know any reasonable pimple remedies, drop a comment.

You Send Me Swingin
2007-02-21 08:36:01
I have had a great deal of mood swings in the last week. This has been the most that I have had in several months. I really cannot put my finger on one thing that has caused the mood swings. Some of it stems from financial concerns, crap at work and communication issues at home. The one thing I do know for certain is that I need to get back in the gym. Not just to get into physical shape but also for my mental well-being. When I was working out consistently for three weeks straight, I saw a drastic positive change in my mood and presence. My muscles ached terribly but it was tolerable. I was not as impatient with JT and the twins and I was more active at home. I miss that feeling. Now to get the motivation and get up early enough in the mornings to work out before my shift starts at work. Thankfully, the gym is in my building. I have a locker with all of my shower goods so I can freshen up before my duties begin. That is my goal for the week. I need that feeling back bec...

10 Foods I Hate
2007-02-21 08:36:01
A couple of weeks ago I posted 13 foods that I love as a part of Thirteen Thursday so it is only appropriate to do the 10 on Tuesday today: 1. Sardines. The smell eats away at my soul. I cannot believe that my children like this crap. 2. Liver and Gizzards. I have never tasted this and I never will. I just cannot bring myself to eat a liver. What the hell are gizzards anyway? 3. Artichokes. Number 3 and 4 on this list go hand in hand. I get the two mixed up, don’t ask me why or how. I just know that they make me want to blow chunks. 4. Water Chestnuts. See the reason above. 5. Mushrooms (unless they are fried). These slimy creatures err fungi scare me. Unless they are fried… then yummy! 6. Sushi. Raw fish… no. 7. Peas. I was forced to try these green bastards when I was little. I think the trauma alone made me not like them. 8. All beans except green beans and baked beans. Navy beans, kidney beans… all those beans equal creepy. 9. Most of the ...

One?Two? Three Pokes? You?re Out
2007-02-13 20:34:02
Oooh what a crazy day. I am so emotional today. Anyway, I forgot to write about the hospital appointment the other day. On Wednesday, William had his type and blood cross. His hemoglobin count was 9.9 that day… very good for my son and JT and I were very happy. Dr. T. decided to go ahead with the transfusion on Thursday. JT and I previously scheduled off that Thursday for JT’s birthday weekend. William originally had his transfusion scheduled for the first of the month, but Dr. T. delayed that by one week because his hemoglobin count was over 10 at the time. We made it a family affair. JT, Keisha and I all joined William and supported him from the beginning to the end. I normally take William by myself to the hospital for transfusion day so it was nice to have the whole family attend for support. William weighed in at 33 lbs and he is now 38 and one half inches tall. The nurse unsucessfully prepared William for the IV twice before Nurse M. came in. She is the e...

And Now It?s Time?
2007-01-30 14:31:02
To say good bye to Vongo. I am officially fed up with their small selection of movies. I keep wanting more and Vongo just cannot keep up with my needs. I have now had the service for a few months with a sticker price of $9.99 per month. Perhaps instead of paying for Vongo, I will cancel this service and go over to GameTap. Any game service that has Contra is okay in my book. I need a new controller to play the games on my laptop. We shall see. I also need to cancel my webhost plan with GoDaddy because I know have an account with Host Department. Other than my decision to part ways with Vongo and GoDaddy webhosting, I am extremely exhausted. I will call the two companies tomorrow to disconnect the service.. I need to get up very early in the morning to work on a project. Good night.

You?re Going to Love Me
2007-01-30 02:30:02
I am very surprised that JT and I were able to see two movies in three days. On Friday we saw Stomp the Yard and this evening we saw Dreamgirls. I enjoyed both movies, but I have to admit that I enjoyed Dreamgirls more. Jennifer Hudson really did an outstanding job in the drama musical. Musicals are generally not my thing but every moment of Dreamgirls had me alert and connected with the development of each charcter. Of course the highlight of the movie for me was Hudson singing, “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Goin g .” JT and I had no choice other than to applaud Hudson after she put it down. Several other people throughout the theatre were clapping as well. I truly hope that Hudson wins an Oscar this year. Jennifer Holiday- And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going And I am telling you I’m not going You’re the best man I’ll ever know There’s no way I can ever go No no no, no way No no no, no way I’m living without you I’m n...

Best Video Ever
2007-01-28 08:27:01
There are only a few minutes left of my 29th birthday. I had a lovely day with my family. The day started off with JT making breakfast for us… pineapple pancakes, turkey sausage and eggs. Yummy. We had a long nap in the afternoon and in the evening we went to Red Lobster for dinner. As I suspected, there was a long wait… an estimated time of an hour and one half. We grabbed the pager from the hostess and waited in the van. The temperature seemed to be dropping by the hour so we definitely had the heat pumping while we waited. JT and I helped the time pass by singing children songs to William and Keisha, counting to 10 in every language we knew and singing the alphabet. Before I knew it, the pager was vibrating in just under 45 minutes. We had calamari with veggies and jumbo coconut shrimp for appetizers. I took Keisha to the restroom, came back and there was only one shrimp left. I was thinking to myself, what the hell? JT looked at me and said, “Your ...

Some of my co-workers ordered out Chinese food for lunch today. I had the number two lunch special: sweet and sour chicken with white rice and two crab rangoon. Pineapple Vess for the drink. I really wanted a nap after that meal, but I had to head over to three hours of training. Oh but wait, as usual… I slept through most of the training. Last week, Keisha counted to ten by herself for the first time. This was at 6:45 a.m. while we were getting ready for school and work. I was so excited that I yelled for JT to come in the room, then I called my mom, aunt and JT called his mom. This evening I was teaching Keisha how to count to ten in Arabic. She listened very well and did a great job with repeating the numbers after me. William did excellent with counting with me as well (in English). Tomorrow is Mama’s birthday. I talked to her this evening and she told me that she got her hair done and tomorrow she is going out to eat with a friend. I have been tweaking thi...
Mama I Love You

Happy Birthday to my favorite woman in the world: My mom. Mama I hope you had a wonderful birthday. I’m sorry I could not give you a birthday hug and kiss today but I will see you soon… this weekend. Twa Twa Twitter
2007-01-27 20:26:05
Rob and Adam introduced me to Twit ter weeks ago and of course I had to join in on the fun. What you see below allows you to see my Twitter updates here or you can click on my Twitter link. Twitter… hehee that makes me giggle. And then when I said Twa Twa in the title… I almost typed twat. I am so dirty. The coolest thing about Twitter is that I can easily post updates from my mobile phone. JT and I purchased the Samsung SGH-A707 earlier this month. I really love my phone so far. No dropped calls, excellent camera (2.0 megapixels), 3G and I still have the unlimited MediaNet service with Cingular but now with highspeed internet. Beautiful. http://twitter.com/nexy A few coworkers presented a birthday card to me today. I thought it was a kind gesture and I was even more impressed that they were able to sign it without me finding out about it. Very cute. Tomorrow I will be 29. eek.
