Dealing With Drama
2007-10-03 02:29:00 The photo in this entry is Curious Kitty. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. Lately I have been extremely burned out. I've reached the point where I hardly want to deal with anything that involves any kind of stress. There has been a lot of drama in my life recently and I've been dealing with it the best I can. I find that my emotions are all out of whack and I can't even enjoy outings or things that would usually be fun to me like being crafty or taking photos. I need more time away, the stress I'm under is affecting everything. If I can get a guest blogger I'll be able to continue my blogging schedule fine, otherwise I'm going to have trouble keeping up. What I need to do is get my heart, mind, and soul back into shape. So I need another breather. This time I don't know how long it will be for. Hopefully not too long. To everyone I know, keep in touch by email. :D Also, if anyone wants to keep up with new photography being uploaded, go here. I encourage comme... More About: Drama , Dram
Song of the Week: Love Story by Layo and Bushwaka
2007-09-29 09:51:00 The photo in this entry is LOL. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I have been a fan of Layo and Bushwaka for many years. Love Story is my favorite of their tracks. Although the original is an instrumental, I decided to feature an alternative version with vocals. Its an interesting mix. I love the sound of Love Story for its deep bass and soft rhythm. I can hear this song so many times over and over without getting tired of it because its sound energizes me. Its a great song to stimulate the imagination to create. Its beat will get your mind and body going. This song has an interestingly unique sound which no other compares to. For me, its "up there". Try to distinguish the instrumental from the vocals and you'll be able to hear what I mean. This track is not complete, I apologize for that. If you would rather hear the original track in better quality, go here and play the first on the list. Here is Love Story by Layo and Bushwaka mixed with Finally: I encourage...... Photographing My Brother's Wedding
2007-09-29 07:42:00 The photo in this entry is Our Happily Ever After. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. Last Saturday my brother Efren wed his lovely new wife Teresa. I was responsible for capturing every moment I possibly could in photographs. Many improvisations, and close to 2500 shots later, my job was done. With the responsibility of being the main photographer I felt the need to give them the best visual memories I could offer. The task was one of the most difficult I have accomplished in my photography, and well worth the great efforts. I began photographing the wedding upon my arrival at the church. I had no back up, so I had to work that much harder. Throughout the ceremony I was bouncing around trying to get as many angles and shots as possible. All the while trying to stay out of the way of the two videographers. We would have photographed the wedding party outdoors, but because it rained that morning, we were unable to. After the ceremony, I took off with the newlyweds to a.... More About: Wedding
My Photography Moving Forward
2007-09-27 13:25:00 The photo in this entry is Gratefully. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. Since photographing my brother's wedding, I have received a lot of compliments and gained new clients. I have been offered a lot of help as well with furthering the exposure of my photography. Although recently my weekly feature on Wallhogs was eliminated due to the blogger's busy schedule, I have plenty of new things to make up for it. I will be making my own business cards soon for my photography service. One of my pen pals gave me a really neat idea a to how I should design my business cards. I really like it so I will try applying it. I will be holding off setting up a website until I finish editing all of the photography in my folders. I have received 3 more offers to do photography since Saturday. I'm pretty excited and feel even more confident now that I've photographed my first event, and a wedding at that. After this, I'll likely move on to trying to get more of my photography featu... More About: Photography , Moving , Forward
New Blogging Schedule and Photography Support
2007-09-26 23:46:00 The photo in this entry is Wound Up. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. Well, since this last week with maintaining so many tasks and trying to catch a few breathers, I have decided to go on a new blogging schedule to better manage my time. For now I will be taking Mondays and Tuesdays off. It may change later, but I will make sure to let you guys know. Regardless, Loaded Questions and Song of the Week will continue. I need these days off to recharge after each week of constantly being busy and pretty much doing everything nonstop. Also as an update, the wedding was AWESOME. I took photos nonstop from the beginning of the wedding until my brother and his new wife left after the reception. I'm serious, I didn't even drink anything and hardly ate at the reception. The photos will be debuted to the public within a few weeks, there are thousands! It was a fun day, and there were a lot of plan changes, but I rolled with the punches. I'll tell you guys more about shooting... More About: Photography , Blogging , Schedule , Support

Overwhelemed by Interest
2007-09-21 00:54:00 The photo in this entry is Oh So Lovely. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. The last week has been kind of crazy for me. I have been receiving a lot of Mail, offers for swaps, and am trying to get back on track with my photography. I have tons to do, but such little time to do them. Taking a breather helped, so I'm trying to tackle everything one at a time. Some of the things I have been working on are my new Crossroads zine, which I only has one section formatted so far. I will hopefully have the premiere issue sent out by the beginning of November. I also have a ton of pen pals to write to. Its beginning to get demanding, but I'm not sweating it. Then I have my photography to work on, which is lagging at the moment. I am eager to start my Photo of the Day project, and already have the formatting figured out. I just need to clear my hard drive of any other photos that may interfere with the flow of my workload. There's hardly ever a dull day for me, but sometimes i... More About: Interest , Eres

Song of the Week: I Don't Feel Like Dancing by the Scissor Sisters
2007-09-16 00:42:00 The photo in this entry is Sparkles. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. Ever since I first heard this song on the radio it was an instant hit to me. I couldn't get enough and would hear it endlessly. Although there is only one other song by the Scissor Sisters that I enjoy as well, this one is the favorite. Not only does it have a great upbeat sound that makes you want to contradict what the song is about, but the vocals are reminiscent of the Bee Gees. Anytime I hear this song I feel like dancing, and perhaps you will too once you get into the groove of its funky sound. :) Here it is, I Don't Feel Like Dancing by the Scissor Sisters: I encourage comments on my writings. My OCD Tendencies
2007-09-14 21:21:00 The photo in this entry is Budding Friendship. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. Not many have known about the mild OCD I have and how it affects me. Overly Compulsive Disorder can be serious in some and often doesn't let people lead normal lives. I have been fortunate to gain more and more control over the years of my symptoms. Ever since I could remember I have been a perfectionist, in the ultimate sense of the word. If anything under my control was out of order or misplaced, it felt extremely awkward. It wasn't until I was 17 that I discovered I had mild OCD. It made complete sense. I used to be the kind of person that would repeat an action or redo something over and over until it was just right. You could just imagine how tedious a job I did at cleaning my home or how valued I was in my flight in the military. I also had to do a lot of things a certain way. Showering had an order, eating had an order, taking things out of my backpack had an order, and absolutel...

A Traumatic Experience
2007-09-11 21:48:00 The photo in this entry is Drop by Drop. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. A year ago today I was nearly raped by a man that threatened my life. I can only credit God for allowing me to survive that experience. I would rather not share details of what happened, so I'll share a video I made. I shot it a few months afterwards. It is a video of the place where it happened. I went back just to get some closure. I'm sharing this today to show how I'm still affected by what happened, but it will never take my identity. Enjoying My New Nikon D40x
2007-09-10 19:06:00 The photo in this entry is Looking Back. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I finally got my new camera, after many, many months of patiently waiting. I was originally going to get a Niko n D50, but as time passed they stop making the model. Then they came out with the Nikon D40 and I wanted that one, until I noticed a few weeks ago the Nikon D40x was out. The newest model has 10.2 Megapixels, which is a big difference from the 6.1 previous model. Although it cost more than I expected, afterwards it was totally worth it. I paid $866 cash for it and was nearly jumping for joy just to have it in my hands. Everything is paying off and the best part is that I got it in time to work on my brother Juan's portfolio and my brother JR's wedding. I'm still playing with the features, but by what I have seen so far, I could not have asked for anything more. Now that I have a good camera of my own I can start up on my Daily Photos project again, gain more clients, and produce bet...
Song of the Week: Perfect by Smashing Pumpkins
2007-09-08 14:21:00 The photo in this entry is Needles Within. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I first heard this song when I was 11, I fell in love with it immediately. Its one of those classics by Smashing Pumpkins , and one that I never get tired of. This song is timeless to me. It took me a while to find it again because this song is hardly available online. I enjoy this song for its lyrics and melodies. It is a mellow song with a subtle boldness to it. It makes you want to stop what you are doing and just listen. Its a good track to drive to too. :D The lyrics are a little hard to understand, but you can get the idea that the song is about a relationship. Kind of a deep message. 5 Best Nights, So Far Meme

The rules: list the 5 best nights that you can recall and then tag four other people and see if the meme can continue. 1. The night I first went to watch the fireworks show on the 4th of July at the Rose Bowl. Very memorable night with my sisters, brother, and dad. 2. Grad Nite at Disneyland. Total awesomeness. 3. My prom night. Pretty crazy, but I had so much fun! 4. The night I felt true love for the first time. I had no idea what I was feeling at the time until later, but it was a magical time. 5. Portrait Drawings of People
2007-09-06 11:03:00 The photo in this entry is Go Spider Go! Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. If you've been around for a while you know how much I love drawing. I enjoy illustrating just about anything, although I'm not too good with drawing anything that takes much of my own imagination to create. I have gradually gotten back into the groove of drawing, using all kinds of media. My tool of choice is pencil though, the most versatile for me using a range between B and B8 with an H2 on the side. I am now offering portrait drawings for everyone to enjoy. Below is an example of my drawing style. It is a portrait piece I did for my friend Jennie. The drawings I offer are drawn using professional Staedtler pencils on cream Strathmore 400 Series 80 lb. paper, no more than 8x10. I'm the kind of person that enjoys completing my drawings in one sitting, which is usually several hours. If you would like to see other art I have done you can go here, here, and here. About Me: What Is My Love Based On?
2007-09-05 06:36:00 The photo in this entry is Modern Touch. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I guess I've been feeling more reflective about my relationship and what I have been through with others in the past. I took a little quiz to see what my love was based on. Mainly just to see if it could possibly tell me any reasons why I have done the things I have and why I have been through what I have been through. I guess having my love based on commitment is more of a bad thing than a good thing. I say this because as the results state, my relationships usually fail because my love is so committed, I often can't see the most obvious problems in my relationships. It seems that's always the conclusion when relationships end. I just never saw it coming. My Love is Base d on Commitment You believe that love is something that develops and grows. You don't believe in love at first site, and you never mistake lust for love. For you, love is about mutual devotion, respect, and understanding....
Coping With Social Anxiety
2007-09-04 10:54:00 The photo in this entry is Flowering Rainbow. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I recently went somewhere with my parents where there were a lot of people. A little restaurant with few cooks and loud music. There was a long line when we arrived, which only got longer very soon after our arrival. A perfect recipe for a near panic attack as a result of having social anxiety. I have had social anxiety for a few years now. The recent visit to the restaurant was a reminder of how bad it can get sometimes. I felt claustrophobic from being surrounded by people and yet so tiny. The loud music set off my sensitive nerves, I was stuttering as I tried talking to my mom. During which I realized I can't live like this. So I told myself to calm down, relax, and that it would all soon be over. We were there longer than expected, but I managed to calm down my nerves. Whenever I feel panicked around people, its because they make me so nervous. I feel like they are all watching me, ev... More About: Social , Coping , Anxiety

Song of the Week: Breath Me by SIA
2007-09-01 08:32:00 The photo in this entry is Curtsy. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. This week I am featuring a song I have enjoyed since I was a teenager. Although it is not the original version, this is the one that I first heard and became an instant favorite. You can hear the original on my old blog. I love this song for a few reasons, it describes the vulnerability that I feel sometimes, the vocals are very distinctive, and it reminds me of last Summer one of the best I've ever had. I really like the way this tracked is mixed as well, the melodies give an eclectic sophistication that I find rare in many songs these days. This is one of the only songs I enjoy by SIA, simply because I have not heard many of her other tracks. This song is very characteristic of the kind of music I used to listen to a lot when I was younger. Perhaps you will enjoy it too. While searching for pen pals I was inspired by an ad from a person that sought blogging buddies. The basic idea is to hook up with people that have blogs, whether they are like journals or not, and exchange comments on each other's blog on a regular basis. Its a nice way to meet new people get to know them and form great friendships as well as promote community within the blogosphere. I thought it was a neat idea to promote, and so far I have two blogging buddies. If you would like to be my blogger buddy, leave me a comment with your URL in your signature, and I'll visit your blog regularly to put in my two cents on what you post. Although please don't sign up if you are someone who is not used to blogging regularly, or you have not had a blog for more than 3 months. I have been gradually gaining stability with each passing day in terms of my emotions, activities, and time management. My health is getting much better and I have a few more things to look forward to. My life is progressing a bit more and I finally feel like I am out of my rut. I have been going to a new clinic for my latest medicine. I've taken 5 different medications in the last week. I am happy to report that my Hypothyroidism is very well on its way to being under control. I have yet to finish my medication and do a few more exams, but I'm eager to be done with it all. These past few days have been mostly focused on organizing my projects so that I may manage my time around them better.
