UK's shoppers are still spending but do it online

UK consumers defied the credit crunch to spend a record amount online with retailers last year, Verdict Research has revealed. Bricks-and-clicks retailers delivered soaring online sales up by 35 per cent to £14.7bn in 2007 – a rate of growth almost 10 times higher than that of the total retail market. Verdict said the convenience of the internet continues to be the main driver of sales, but improved retail websites and increased broadband penetration also fuelled the boom. Verdict's senior retail analyst Malcolm Pinkerton said the fact that consumers have less disposable income to spend was boosting retail online sales, as consumers seek out bargains and use price-comparison websites. "Disposable incomes are being squeezed and what is drawing people online is the perception that the internet is cheaper and that they can shop around to get bargains and lower prices. Today the UK,s fastest growing online shopping site released its figures for attempted fraud on its site, and it is quite a shock most of us think of most fraud coming from countries in Africa or Asia, but their figures show that a huge 93% of attempted fraud comes from the United States of America, they in fact report that a shocking 1 out of 3 attempted transactions from the USA are in fact fraud attempts.The company have in the past blocked buyers from some of the countries normally associated with fraud, but removed all blocks for a one year trial. Microsoft Corp. walked away from its bid for Yahoo ! Inc. after failing to agree on a price, a setback to the software maker's efforts to catch Google Inc. in the online advertising market. What is laughable here is it is Microsoft's attempt to catch up to Google in the search engine wars.OK I am going to give Microsoft a bit of advice, if you want to catch them the first thing you have to do is make a search engine that works, Microsoft's Live is laughable and any webmaster will tell you it does not work and is a waist of time and money spending time trying to get a high place on Live seach. At last it seems our troops are getting ready to go home, not before time we joined a US war that was built on lies about WMD.I have fought from before the start of this war for the UK not to join it, it was always clear to me that Iraq never had WMD, with my little experience I knew there never was any WMD so why did the intelligence think there was?But it is no good looking back, we joined this unjust invasion of a country for no other reason than to protect the dollar. PLDT DSL has forced its way back in to my blog, the reason being they are complete con artists, why the people of the Philippines put up with them and allow themselves to be robbed by PLDT I will never know.So here it is the scam they are pulling at PLDT, I signed up for the 1995 plan it costs 1995peso and you are meant to get 1.5mbs. For the first month this is what you get then they start reducing it 5 months on I am lucky to get 400kbs, Billing says I am meant to be getting 1.5mbs PLDT help line says I am meant to be getting 1.5mbs but the local office says I am only meant to be getting 512kbs or that was yesterday today. It has been a while since my last blog, just no time to as i have been working on B.G Store s Shopping Site. I made the site using Zen cart and have installed many modules.One of the best modules and one that the customers seem to like is the printable price list. That shows a complete list of all the products and the price. the currency can be changed to the one of their choice and you can even, just have the type of product you like.There are so many extras in the store i was having problems with the cache size but have over come this by changing it to a file system which i find works just as well.
