Malta always had the problem of water scarcity. Being a very small island only surrounded with sea and no mountains or rivers of any sort, we always had to find means how to obtain water (boreholes, reverse osmosis systems, wells, and trying to find the odd stream here and there). Therefore, since we were kids we’ re always taught not to waste any water. Still, statistics show that the average person consumes around 190 litres of water daily, while the wealthier people consume a whopping 3,000 litres! But how are we consuming all this water?? Here’s a small list of everyday items we use and their water footprint. This year is the first year that i’m not starting any academical programme myself hehehe (getting a small break & doing lighter stuff before i immerse myself in the Masters Degree studies in a year or two). A week before i start my new school term i always tend to do a little checklist and get all my stuff together (though my most favourite part usually is set apart from this list – hello new school clothes ). The toughest part is to get everything i need without making my bag weigh like a stone hah!!
