On My Own by Lea Salonga (video & lyrics)
2008-02-23 05:00:00
I bought my ticket today for the Lea Salonga Concert here on Maui on March 7th - I am soooo excited, i can't wait! Here's a sample of what I am going to be hearing:And now Im all alone againno where to turn no one to go toWithout a home without a friend without a face to say hello toAnd now the night is nearnow I can make believe hes hereSometimes I walk alone at night when everybodyelse is sleepingI think of him and then I'm happy withthe company I'm keepingThe city goes to bedAnd I can live inside my headOn my own,Pretending he's beside me,All alone, I walk with him till morning.Without him, I feel his arms around me,And when I lose my way, I close my eyes,And he has found me...In the rain,The pavement shines like silver,All the lights are misty in the river,In the darkness the trees are full of starlight,And all I see is him and me,Forever and forever...And I know it's only in my mind,That I'm talking to myself and not to him,And although I know that he is blind,Still I s...

Sporadic Bloggers I Like :)
2008-02-23 04:49:00
I'm "Blogroll cleaning". I love these blogs but they have not been updating their blogs regularly, so I am placing them under the "sporadic bloggers" roll. I still always visit them to check on them so I don't want to just delete them from my side bar. Putting these links together would be easier for me to check on them, at the same time will make my sidebar roll more updated. This is a working progress... I don't know how this would affect the RSS, but if it keeps on re-publishing while I am working on it, I apologize. I will work on this for this week and then it will be done :)101 ThingsBe StillDigital RichFatherhood MattersFirebrandsJoyful DaysPlano MomPoppycockSnapshots and CoffeeTalksToddler Freeze FrameX-Pat Express

When There's Nothing I Can Do But Pray
2008-02-21 16:41:00
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,and having done all, to stand.(excerpt from Ephesians 6)I posted this thought back in November 2006; It is now 2008 and the battle is not over yet. Please join me in praying for our soldiers - the Navy Seals, the Marines, the Air Force, the Army, ALL OF THEM. Pray for protection; ; Pray for their family; Pray for our country. Just pray.

New blog URL soon ... well, hopefully it works.
2008-02-20 09:35:00
I just purchased a domain through Blog ger/Google. Apparently, in 3 days all the posts will now be directed to lizas-eyeview.com Honestly I had no clue what I was doing or what I did. I had been wanting to get a shorter URL name instead of lizaseyeview.blogspot.com but was afraid to mess up my blog. Well, I am not in the right frame of mind tonight (scary) because I just did it and not sure if I did it right. I better sleep now and hope that it will work ok, otherwise my blog would be a mess in 3 days... Yikes! This is what tiredness and sleep deprivation can do - make "impulsive" decisions. hay (sigh)....I am going to bed. Good night.

Works For Me Wednesday: Quickie Dinners Part 2
2008-02-20 04:32:00
I once posted a WFMW post on quickie dinners and this is another one (a.k.a. part 2). The other day I was in a rush, I looked at the pantry and the refrigerator to see what I can do for dinner. The answer: Tuna Melt! Open a can of tuna and drain, Pour content in a bowl add mayonnaise (according to your desire - very tiny drop or about a spoonful), a dash of salt and pepper. Mash and stir. Put on top of a semi toasted loaf of bread. Put fresh tomatoes (cut in circles) on top. Top with cheese (cheddar, swiss, provolone, or mozzarella - whatever your desire is). Put in oven or toaster oven for 5 to 10 minutes (or until the cheese are melted). Serve hot. If you like spicy, put jalopeno peppers together with the tomato before you put the cheese on top:For more Works For Me Wednesday s, visit Shannon at Rocks In My Dryer.

Fun Holiday Weekend and Frantic Tuesday
2008-02-19 16:43:00
Let me start with the "fun" part. we did lots of family fun:Friday night was hanging out at home relaxed and not worried because it's the holiday weekend :). Hubby and kids watched Naruto DVD while I blogged (gotta love that :).On the side note about Friday, we found out that our friends the K's went out with a bunch of friends for a group date night. You see we have this bunch of "free childcare" coupons on this gymnastics place and they used them on that night. Hubby was bummed that I did not coordinate with our friends about going with them because CK invited us (CK told me about it, I mentioned it to hubby a couple weeks before but we didn't get to talk about it in details and I did not call back our friends).Saturday morning, hubby went to Taekwondo class in the morning while I took the kids to the Whale Day at the Park (it's sort of a fair/carnival). AfterTaekwondo, hubby went to Costco to purchase a new dining furniture set (that's another post). While on Costco, hubby ta...

I got lost reading posts after posts of blogs after blogs, nor I don't have the time to post the posts I wanted to post for my blog. How many times can I say blog and post in a sentence? :)The other day I said I'm logging off the computer to hop on the treadmill. Well, I lied! When I logged of I noticed that the sink is full of dishes from the previous night's dinner, the living room full of clutter, and the mounds of laundry for the week needs to be put in the washing machine (because no matter how loud I scream for these pile of clothes to crawl inside the washing machine, they won't do it themselves, hmp!)...so anyway, I started washing the dishes (mostly rinsing and loading in the dishwasher which I really should have done the previous night, then hand wash pots and pans). So there! I did not get chance to hop on the treadmill. I keep on saying oh I'd do it later today but the "later today" didn't happen either. I always found things to do other than hop on the treadmil...

Confessions of A Christian Working Mom (Part 4): Something's Gotta Give and
2008-02-17 17:29:00
As I said in this post, last week was good. We had a lot of family time, I cooked healthy dinners about 4 of the 7 days (hey, that's an accomplishment for me), even had some romantic times with hubby. But confessions of all confessions, I still am not satisfied because I know many areas in our family life are neglected. For example, I have been very lax with my kids' schooling. I do bare minimum. Both kids need to learn their multiplication table, and I let them get away with not practicing it because of lack of time. I mean why would I want to take those very few precious moments of my day spending time with them and turn then into a tutoring session? When we have time together, I want it to be fun. Unfortunately, their "math skills" (ex. memorizing the multiplication table) are put in the backburner. And what else? The house... oh there were a few moments last week that I "cleaned up and de-cluttered", but it's not a high priority; and because we live here, and becau...

Plan to Be Healthier
2008-02-17 16:47:00
I have set some goals for 2008, part of that are health goals. It?s now February, and some adjustments need to be done, to fine tune these goals and make them SMART. My dad always says ?If you fail to plan, you plan to fail?. Therefore, here is my plan: Exercise - Ideally, walk 30 minutes 3x a week at speed 4 incline 3 (realistically, walk once a week for an hour). To motivate, join 5K runs. In 2007 I joined one, this year I should at least join 2. I already did one ? yehey! Healthy Snacks ? snack is a huge culprit in unhealthy living because there are so many yummy junk food around! The best way to combat this is to plan my snacks, to make sure there are available yummy healthy snacks in my office and at home. Make a list of healthy snack (done) and stock up the pantry and refrigerator with it. Healthy Meals ? Same with snacks, healthy meals are important. I am a person who likes a hearty breakfast and light l...

Blog Away ...
2008-02-16 16:31:00
Sometimes I get bogged down with wanting to post some really well written posts ... those "article kind" posts that blog readers would say, "wow, this is worth linking" kind of post.... that I end up not posting at all...This past week has been a very busy week - it's been a good week - lots of "blog worthy" happenings. I had been mental bloggin all week long and hoping to find a chance to write (type) them all down in a creative witty post. But no! Because I had saved them all in my brain and because I can't find the time to post because there were not a lot of "me time" available, many of this wonderful happenings would remain a mental post and will never make it to blogworld. Oh well...So where was I? Oh yeah, I still have not written anything of substance, just rambling on how much happening, stories, news and thoughts I have that I want to share that I didn't (or don't) have time to turn into an "article like" post..But now, even though i have decided to just blog away, ...

Let The Little Children Come To Me...
2008-02-15 06:27:00
This is a continuation of my post earlier. Photos are taken from various posts of the Compassion Team now on Uganda. To sponsor a child, go over to Compassion Site here. Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, "Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me." Mark 9:36-37Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 19:13-14And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?" Matthew 21:16

Thankful Thursday: Valentine
2008-02-14 09:49:00
My mother in law called tonight. She was very cheerful and excited. She received the basket of flowers we sent her (exactly the photo above) and she's very pleased. I am thankful I did it. Truth be told, I was so busy last Christmas that I did not even send her a gift. These flowers made up for it. She's glad we remembered her on Valentine s' Day. I'm sure she's missing my step-dad in law who passed away about 3 years ago. It's hard to be living all by herself. I am thankful this little basket of flowers made her smile today :)(For more Thankful Thursday , visit Iris at Sting My Heart)

Thursday 13: 13 verses in I Corinthians 13
2008-02-14 02:06:00
1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.2 And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.3 If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.4 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,5 it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,6 it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.8 Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.9 For we know partially and we prophesy partially,10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass ...

March Bunco and Lea Salonga on Maui
2008-02-13 11:05:00
I got an e-mail from Lisa, one of my Bunco mates who is hosting the March bunco. Looks like it's gonna be a "St. Patrick's Day" theme because she told us to bring "something green" for the $3 gift that each of us brings to put into a basket as a price for the "last bunco". Our next bunco night will be on March 1st. I'm glad it's on March 1st because on March 7th, Lea Salonga will have a concert here on Maui and I want to go. I'm holding off on buying the ticket for a couple of days for "a reason I'd rather not share". But if that "reason I'd rather not share" would not create a conflict in schedule, I definitely would go to Lea's concert. Wow - I can actually be her pretend BFF, take a photo of me and her together, and blog about us :). Yeah...maybe I should contact her manager and see if I can interview her at the backstage before the show so I can feature her on my blog ....right:)....Oh well... it's 12:15 in the morning (which is kind of, night). I should be asleep...
