Flambeau Brake Control Demo Kit
2010-08-11 02:57:00
This is a nice item that I found today at Princess Auto... A grey box hiding on the bottom of a grey shelf. The phrase "Demo Kit" caught my eye, and I had to take a peek inside. I was blown away by the beautiful innards, and I just had to have it. read more

QuahogCon 2010 Badge Hardware Hacking - The Beginning
2010-05-05 06:14:00
What I Did: I took a Cellboost IPR3 that was otherwise destined for a dull life of providing power to an original iPod Shuffle, and converted the cable normally used for charging it into a USB-A-to-2-pin cable using the cable from an old computer case's hard drive activity light. (Using the cable is a bonus for me, since this cable has been kicking around the junkbox for ages.) read more

QuahogCon 2010 Humans vs. Zombies Game
2010-05-05 04:47:00
For those who are curious about some of the particulars of the game, here is what I gleaned from the goings-on at the 'con (And from a lot of borrowing Jimmie's badge, and soliciting button-presses from random 'con attendees). Spoiler Warning: If you want to try to disassemble, packet-sniff, or otherwise decode the Humans vs Zombies game completely on your own, don't read on. read more

FT4232H-Based Eee 701 Internals Controller
2010-01-07 19:18:00
This controller will be designed for installation into an Eee 700-series netbook to serve the following purposes: Provide a communications interface to I2C, SPI and UART devices over USB Control power switching to various internally-mounted low-current (~0-25mA) and high-current (~25-125mA) devices. Provide non-USB-Host 5V power to the high-current USB devices through high-current SPST switches so as not to overload the USB Bus (Update: This will be done by off-board MOSFETs. There just wasn't enough room on the board to allow it to still fit in the space allocated for the MDC1.5. read more
EleHack (.com): An electronics hacking resource
2010-01-02 03:29:00
Purpose: I've been looking to get EleHack.com on the road for a while now. I was looking at making a site for everything from basic circuits to interfacing sensors with microcontrollers, etc... Basically, building blocks for circuits, so if someone needed to (for example) look up how to make a 555 timer circuit, there would be a page for that, or how to interface an LCD display to an Arduino, there would be a page for that. Even things like how to interface triggers to DSLRs. Really, anything electronic-related. read more

EVEm V1.1 Carputer

2homeinfo dot com SPLOGs

POM PPM Parking Meter
2009-03-20 03:03:00
I found this parking meter at Princess Auto yesterday. Made by POM Inc., this meter is called the PPM. I got it to work by adding a rubber band with just enough tension to depress the turn-detect lever when the lever is turned. The meter has knobs where a tensioned spring was attached. I'll have to find a decent spring somewhere. read more

SQL Daemon for DS
2008-11-11 23:37:00
With much anticipation, here is my SQL code: it allows both blocking and non-blocking SQL sockets to be used simultaneously. I've tried to be very verbose in my commenting, and I will include some examples later on, too. This stuff works to the best of my knowledge. If not, leave me a comment and I'll try to look at it. FAKE Image Gallery
2008-07-10 04:24:00

Possible Case? 3Com SuperStack II
2007-12-15 08:41:00
Ok, so maybe it's more suited to a different MIDIbox, say, maybe a SEQ, but this box does have sleek lines, plenty of access in the back, and a built-in 12V, 5V, -12V AC/DC power supply.
