Displaying a Bitmap

After a bitmap has been loaded into memory, it can be displayed on the screen. Windows uses the concept of a memory device context to convert the format of the bitmap data file to the physical format used by the screen display or the printer. A memory device context is just like the device context of the screen or the printer, except that it is not tied to a specific device. A bitmap must be selected into a memory device context before it can be displayed on a physical device.
