Dear Dreams
An indifferent angle of looking at things evolving the mysterious impression, but often loses curiosity due to excess honesty and frankness. A dreamer who has yet to find his strength and meaning in life, still searching for himself

The Weekend's Long Volleyball
2008-05-25 20:10:00
We got to play volleyball on a Friday night again. We had rare visitors like Tze Khit and he even bought my dinner for me – chicken chop. Both of us had stuffs to discuss but to no conclusion yet again. Things were alright for the night except that playing with a sprained finger was a great hindrance.I spent my Saturday sleeping earlier than usual. Since my mum and younger brother had gone to Malaysia, I dominated the entire room. Waking up early on a Saturday morning was another rare thing. I set my alarm to dance at around seven but I only woke up at eight and I was late for around ten minutes. It was the last training before the ITE's tournament. I was merely a vase there. Mingen drove to West Coast MacDonald's to buy breakfast. After slacking around for quite some time, I started putting on the tape on my sprained index finger but to realise that I was a cripple. It was only a finger and yet it affected the entire game since even receiving balls required grabbing of all my fin...

Last week, I had confirmed with my superior to work till September. It was after a long struggle that I decided to stay on mainly due to financial issue.Last Wednesday and Thursday were my last two days at Bukit Batok. Following by making a wasted trip on Tuesday morning, Wednesday was a blessing for the teacher from Jurong Secondary school was a sweet girl. Anyway, I would not have to go down anymore. It was in fact quite relaxing over there, however, the travel part was really sickening.Things are said to be smoother in future but I anticipate the continuous endless work. I really hope the incoming work is due to my capability, which would be more satisfying even though there would be some unfairness. It could be a blessing instead since work would be recognised.I hope I can survive till the end. Meanwhile, I want to do up all my websites! Skai Chan @ http://sillydumb.com

Sprained Licking Good
2008-05-22 19:01:00
The volleyball session yesterday turned a bit disastrous. Weitat accompanied me down to Mingfa's girls' training after five. The old girls returned. Both of us started playing with Mingen and Tiffany, and it was not long before Mingen spiked a ball too far in front of me and it hit the ground before agitating my index finger on my right hand.It had been so long since I last sprained any part of my body and I hated the irritating feeling that hindered me from doing well. Since I was wearing my old spectacle which had scratches all over the lens, my visible was not completely clear and it was too late to switch spectacle because it would probably cause giddiness. The training lasted till night since our usual game starting from the evening was cancelled due to a bitch, and Mingfa was preparing the girls for the upcoming competition.I had my greatest fun at the end but it was really short. We did not have dinner together even though Weitat and Mingfa were fine with eating together, kno...

Is the Iced Lemon Tea Cold or Hot one?
2008-05-22 17:41:00
Yesterday, I joined my gang to IMM after work. It was a last minute decision and in fact, it was a weird one. I had some work which Justin sought my help to assist him with and furthermore, the slow progress of updating my websites filled my mind. Upon arriving at IMM, I was quite disappointed with myself for not making the right choice because my mum had informed me that she would be cooking; and I would feel guilty for wasting my mum's effort again. We went to the MacDonald's and shared some nuggets, French fries and Mc chicken wings. Later on, Weitat allured me to have ice-cream. My lust would be more satisfied if only MacDonald's were to sell chocolate cone ice-cream. After all, I had been so sinned because I was not supposed to take too much ice-cream for my body was weak and would fall sick easily. The stay at the MacDonald's was quite carefree for me but maybe not for everyone. I hoped things would get back to like in the past even though most people would have less attenti...

Slept Early on a Weekday
2008-05-21 20:16:00
Back to the working life from the long weekends seemed too harsh a slacker's life. I could not doze off as usual and wasted lots of time tossing on the bed.It was an early trip in the morning, rushing towards the longer distanced place, to notice that there was no lesson. They assumed Andrew and I knew that since the day before was a holiday; our part of lesson would only start on the second school day. However, the email could back us up that they had informed us to go on the first school day of the week.I had no hard feeling since I felt it was good to see them again even though I was "cheated" to wake up around two hours earlier for that trip. I was quite worried that it would give my superior bad impression of them for this small yet irritating mistake, but somehow I was blessed that the news was spread before I needed to speak up.It was the first time I stayed awake throughout on bus 173. I was so shocked to realise the bus actually travelled from Bukit Batok to Bukit Timah be...

Vesak Day
2008-05-21 17:59:00
This Monday was Vesak Day's extended holiday and it was the last holiday until August, which made working life quite miserable.I was still "playing" with my website and found it a hassle to piece my blog and main website together, and it took up too much of my holiday.Dinner was at Chinatown at the famous good and cheap stall which sold sting ray. The best thing was that my whole family went together and peace finally regained in my family. The stupid cold war was really crappy and I hated it happen just because of something not to be mentioned and yet was anticipated long ago.I went to fix my nose pads for the spectacles. Then, we had a short shopping session at the cheap toiletry shop before getting some expensive cleaners for the air-conditioners. We camped inside People's Park Complex for a cream that would form into stone, which was used for mending house. Next, we shopped at the CK store before crossing over to the other branch near Chinatown Complex. I was quite fascinated ...
Singapore flyer, Henderson Waves and Alexandra Arch
2008-05-19 20:02:00
On the same night which I ended my Southern Ridges expedition with Gilbert, my volleyball gang called me up for dinner at the Singapore Flyer . Weitat, Mingli and Jingkun drove over to pick me up and meet up with the rest – Mingfa, Mingen, Tiffany, Wilson and Ruoci. It was my first trip down to the Singapore Flyer ever since it was built. Then, I realised they were going there for Popeye, which I thought they only had branches at the airports. Despite I already had my dinner earlier on with Gilbert, the craving for the delicious chickens made me share a three-piece chicken meal set with Mingli. The sizes of the chickens were small and disappointing though. The rest of us, excluding Mingen and Tiffany, went to Mustafa after our late dinner. We left soon after Mingfa got his knee guard. The highlight of the night finally began. As I was mentioning about my trip to the Southern Ridges, and how beautiful the Henderson Waves was in the day and certainly would be even more dashing at night...

Trekking at Southern Ridges
2008-05-17 22:29:00
I completed the Southern Ridges trekking with Gilbert just now.We met up at the Seah Lm food centre and started off at the Harbourfront MRT station. We took the right direction after going uphill and finally walked the opposite direction towards Jewel Box restaurant (Slogan: Singapore's Iconic Hilltop Destination).Next, we crossed Faber Walk and finally reached the speculate Henderson Waves; we were so impressed by the great work at such a great height – near 80 kilometres above sea level. We proceeded to Hilltop Walk and after more struggles under the hot sun, we reached Forest Walk, which was a grand place with the steel bridge leading visitors towards the Alexandra Arch; it was never possible to access to Alexandra Arch from the Hilltop Walk with the steep slopes until the completion of the Forest Walk.We finally arrived at Hort Park which I had visited once a few ago near midnight and could not walk around. I did not expect it to be a very big place. We took the Canopy Walk and ...

Dig and Dig and Dig
2008-05-16 23:15:00
I had two days of volleyball again this week.Tuesday was simply joining Mingfa's training at ITE. I helped him to train the new girls but to realise that they would need more practising on their own. Mingfa's C boys came down and I went to wash up after Weitat and Yicheng returned. While waiting for the friendly match to end, I dozed off. We were supposed to leave at 8.30pm but we waited for another forty-five minutes. Dinner was at Queensway. On Thursday, I brought my weary body down to the hall. It was not long before I got changed and got into concussion by the side, a big smash by the ball hit me. I started playing volleyball with "Ha Ha Har" but training started very soon. Again, I took charge of the new girls but the lack of balls problem was really bad that I was helpless in front of the newbies. Playing continuously, putting on the best movements to set good example for everyone, my legs were softened by the time the night game started.Atmosphere was a bit weird. I could ha...
I Changed my Mind
2008-05-15 20:13:00
I finally change my mind again. I'm pretty disappointed in myself. I'm a money-sucker and I’m willing to give up my passion mainly for the sake of money.Of course, there are many other good reasons for me to continue with my current work, especially when it comes to colleagues. Too many people are showing me smiles daily. My personal projects would probably drag on again.Suddenly I regret agreeing to Jesedy to film for the show in Mediacorp next Monday because I should be at least enjoying my holiday. I should not let bad mood haunt me for the entire day. There were big decisions to be made which added on to the load on my face.I'm tearing somehow, for things which seem so simple yet keep bothering me.I feel pressured at the same time. Appraisals may not be good sometimes because others will be expecting more and I do not want to disappoint anyone. If I had a rich family, I will definitely have less trouble and worry. The Upcoming Trip to the New Bridge
2008-05-13 21:46:00
I'm planning to visit the new bridge at Harbourfront this weekend. I should have gone there with Gilbert a few days ago since none of the people I have asked is free to join me.So much for my love for photography, it would definitely be a fruitful trip for me.I'm so lazy to find out more about the location at this moment, not even the exact name. Gilbert told me he read from newspapers that it would probably take around five hours to finish the two joint bridges from Harbourfront to West Coast. I’m very lazy to go around calling people as well since probably not many friends will find the trip meaningful and can follow my pace. I hate rejections.I will probably set off by myself if nobody is really interested to join me. After all, I have been such a loner for all these while, and I have actually being trained to be alone; I used to feel weird to be outside alone but not anymore now.The only fear is my feet because the bloody unprofessional doctors since my army days have not ye...

The Weirdest Mothers' Day
2008-05-12 21:37:00
Every year, my family would go for dinner together on Mothers ' Day. Since my mum's birthday was just a few weeks before Mothers' Day, we would normally focus more on her birthday instead. This year, my brothers and I had spent large sum of money during my mum's birthday for the Hong Kong trip and therefore, Mothers' Day's celebration was somehow "forfeited".On the day, my elder brother was still at cold war with my mum and my younger brother went for his friend's birthday celebration, leaving me alone with my mum. In order not to disappoint her, I accompanied her to Chinatown for dinner. We had sting ray for dinner. Since the hawker told us we had to wait very long, I went around looking for finger food and got some Shui Guo, and durian flavour's Tang Yuan. Before we could finish everything, we ordered Rojak from the stall owner who passed by. Together with the sugarcane juice, my stomach was so bloated. It was a dinner well-spent; it was cheaper than a single person's bill a...

My Paradise – Marina South Pier
2008-05-12 17:53:00
I marked my fourth trip down to Marina South Pier alone last Saturday. On this very quiet Saturday, after slacking and rotting, I finally decided to leave the house after 6pm. I should be leaving house much earlier so that I could stay there longer but it was good enough that I could make my way out of the house. As I crossed the road to the side of the Singapore Conference Hall, two sweet girls were in front of me, walking towards Marina South. Luckily that they turned around to ask me and I showed them the direction to their actual destination – Lau Pa Sat. In fact, I knew it was already quite late to go jogging and I even thought of guiding them to their destination and giving up on my jog. Perhaps, the beauty at Marina South Pier exceeded the beauty of the girls.Along the same old path, holding my old torn phone pouch which the zip was already totally damaged, with the music, I jogged to my loneliness, missing the days I had with my comrades. The air pollution had increased as ...

Volleyball on a Friday
2008-05-11 20:23:00
We had a last minute decision to play volleyball on last Friday night; I was dying to go home to finish up my website, but in order not to disappoint everyone, I joined them.I went home to pack up my stuffs and left immediately after having toilet meeting. On the speed faster than my usual quick pace, I hurried to my destination, causing the weakness on my legs. It was a repeated mistake caused by my ignorance. Perhaps, I should jog over instead of doing the ultimate brisk walking.I was yet again another handicapped man. This time round, we had really nice figure to form a team without anyone having to sit outside the court. I let Mingfa down a couple of times. In fact, my legs almost cramped right after the first few jumps. We wanted to stay behind after the rest were gone but we were simply too tired to play well.Dinner was at Commonwealth. Mingfa drove us to Weitat's house to collect Weitat's dad's car and we went to return Mingfa's sister car before proceeding to fill our st...

Switched from HTML to PHP
2008-05-11 12:57:00
It took me quite long to finally switch my entire website from HTML to PHP due to the programming method. All the while I was using IFRAME and probably nobody could notice it if he was using Internet Explorer; Firefox lovers had serious problems viewing the website. Occasionally I had also been amending the website’s coding to synchronise with both Firefox and Internet Explorer, and thus, if you had been observing the site carefully, you most likely would have found some small improvements in Firefox’s view for certain features.Since the scripting method I had been using depended too much on the frame, it was a very tedious progress to switch. What are actually done?- Entire site is changed from HTML to PHP- All coding is amended to suit both Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 6.0- Internal site structure is improved for easier future update- Menus and submenus are shifted and improved- Scripting and presentation for various pages are improvedShifting to PHP also means that I would...

Going to be Jobless Soon
2008-05-10 22:21:00
A few days ago, I had sent my superior an email about not renewing my contract after next month. I would be officially declared jobless after then and soon bankrupt. There has to be sacrifices between money and interest; and I choose the latter because of long term plan.Jingkun is confident to help me in reducing my work load when term starts again but there are just too many unexplainable and unsolvable problems. I have to blame myself for being too helpful sometimes, or rather, ignorant.I could have sent the email to my superior later in case I may change my mind but it would be good for him to make proper arrangement earlier. In our cases, not informing is considered as not going to resume; but however, he is probably expecting us to stay on.Both Mingli and Weitat are not resuming as well, and it would be quite lonely for Jingkun after June. Nevertheless he has to learn to be by himself because it is part and parcel of working life. Things may not be that bad if the rest of our "g...
Overnight at Weitat's house
2008-05-09 20:53:00
The past few days took me a ride on a "mountain-climbing" challenge. My backache was tearing me apart, together with my workload, my deprivation of sleep sent me nodding at places. On Thursday evening, Mingfa sent the gang of us to meet up with coach right after our work. The dinner was for Weitat's belated birthday and I felt awkward to be treated by coach as I had not been talking to him since long time ago. Since I had a very unpleasant afternoon during my earlier lessons, the tiredness from the anger added on to my weariness to keep me quiet.Mingfa drove me home after Jingkun and Mingli, and waited downstairs together with Weitat while I took my bath and packed up. Then, we proceeded to Weitat's house. It was a good "customer service" experience. Weitat gave up his bed for me and since he did not switch on the air-conditioner, I was able to doze off at around midnight after nodding in front of his television. It was one of the peaceful nights I had for years, probably due to my ...

The Arrow Strikes Me Again
2008-05-06 23:51:00
It is funny that whenever people need helps, they always think of me before anyone else. This entire world consists of nobody who is "free" except me.When our boat faces storm, I would be sent to deal with the situation; and when other boats face the same problem, everyone deems that I’m the only one in the ocean to do something. It is alright to do lots of extra things than normal people but it is very irritating in situations whereby my main tasks are affected. My focus and principle all these while is to accomplish all the tasks assigned by the bosses; in Chinese, "不辱君命".The fact that I'm unable to achieve my own standard of work due to additional works that I cannot reject tells me that I should not stay on anymore. I must admit my own incapability even though they may not be obvious to others. No matter who and how many people are impressed by me, and how many compliments I have received, I should not hesitate anymore. Shifted Desk
2008-05-05 21:48:00
There is nothing that lasts forever. Same things go for a work desk. I have already prepared since so long ago to move and thus I have not brought many things along ever since day one.The days when the four of us were sitting straight in a row would be so unforgotten. It is one of the best things in anyone's working life to enjoy such privilege of having three buddies sitting so near that we could easily help or look out for each other within a second. I enjoy sitting near the few new friends who have been entertaining me a lot, especially "everything's perfect", because she is kind of my ideal mum. Some people might think that sitting at the edge where many people would pass by is a problem but I'm pretty off the channel since I think totally differently; I love colleagues pass by everyday often and exchange smiles with me. Smiles lighten up me a lot, especially when I'm stressed.Of course, there are cons to sit among the group that is near the door when access card is needed. A...

The Fear of Halting
2008-05-03 20:52:00
I finally got to meet up with Irwin again. Through the conversation at Vivocity, I got to realise this problem of mine, which was similar to his – the fear of halting. We have great plans in minds but never have the time to proceed. We could have spent the weekends working towards our goals but each time when we think about the fact that the weekends are never enough and things would definitely be halted, it kills our drives to even begin. Now that this problem, out of the many problems, has been identified, it must be solved. There is no time to waste anymore. Skai Chan @ http://sillydumb.com

Racing Cab
2008-04-29 19:33:00
I took a cab just now because I overslept. I could not remember when was the last time I was this rush that I had to donate to the money-sucking cab companies but it was definitely long ago and perhaps, this was the first time in this year.Anyway, blame it on my sickness. The panadol like usually, would cause me drowsy for more than a day somehow. I was floating throughout the day.I managed to get the cab near my void deck when some passengers alighted at the next block inside the car park. The driver did not know where ITE Bukit Batok was and thus, I was worrying so much that it could lead to further delay of time. Luckily, he managed to get through his friend or operator and found out it was at Bukit Batok St 21.It was around 8.55am and I told him I was supposed to reach by 9am. He chose to take West Coast Highway instead of AYE since AYE would be more congested. He took me to a thrilling experience of a car racing and sped up to 140km/h when the road was clearer. His car was simp...

Sick is the Result of Lacking of Sleep
2008-04-27 23:22:00
I have been sweating for two days. The flu has totally ruined my weekdays. It is not long before I have managed to fight off another illness and I guess my body system is really weak.I probably should not be too greedy to take heaty food and perhaps, stuffs from inside the refrigerator when I know well I get sick easily. I have not taken my temperature but I believe I'm not having any fever most of the time.I'm feeling drowsy at times. So much for my will to fight against illness without taking any medicine since I believe my own body has the better warriors to shrink these evil pests off, it seems to take long time before my recovery. What is more stupid is that my warriors do not get stronger each time after the attacks. After all, the most important reason I get sick so often is probably due to not having enough rest. No matter how strong a person is, he will eventually get sick if he tries sleeping less than ten hours in three days. Skai Chan @ http://sillydumb.com
