Not Conservative on Hate
2006-11-30 23:50:00 When Representative-elect Keith Ellison became the first Muslim elected to serve in congress I think we all expected something nasty to seep out of the conservative right, but what I have been reading online over the past few days is so wrong and offensive that I'm just pissed off enough to share it with you. The internet has become riddled with articles and posts that are bashing Representative-elect Ellison's decision to be sworn into office on a copy of the Koran rather than the bible. Most of the hate started with an article by Dennis Prager, a conservative radio show host, who wrote a piece for townhall.com (here) which basically calls Ellison a radical Muslim multicultural activist who hates American values and wants to bring about the islamicization of America. Here are a few of the quotes: "America should not give a hoot what Keith Ellison's favorite book is... America is interested in only one book, the Bible... Mr. Ellison, America, not you, decides on what book i... More About: Hate , Conservative , Hat , Cons
Problem Child
2006-11-28 22:34:00 Just when I thought children could not get any more scary I stumbled across this story. Earlier today a twelve year old girl in Indiana apparently set fire to her mothers bed and then kidnapped her little brother and sister to make it look like they all had been abducted. What was her motive? Too many chores. Miami County Sheriff Ken Roland was quoted saying, "Apparently the mom had given her a lot of duties... It was too much for a twelve year old and she snapped." After waking up to her bed in blazes, the twenty nine year old mother discovered that her children were missing and dialed police. The police then called a cell phone the little monster had stolen and after being fed a story about a kidnapper they talked her into stopping and giving herself up. The little girl is in a juvenile detention center on charges of arson and attempted murder now and the other two children were sent home to their mother. Cut and paste the whole story (here) into the next profile asking i... More About: Problem , Child
Buddha's Delight
2006-11-28 00:48:00 Over Thanksgiving break last week I went back to Chinatown in Boston for dinner at Buddha 's Deli ght located on the second floor at 3 Beach St. This is "Number 55: Crispy Fried Spring Roll and B.B.Q. Gluten Slices with Vermicelli and Vegetables". When I worked nearby, I would go to Buddha's Delight for lunch every day and 55 was one of my favorites. It is just the right amount of flavorful and leaves you feeling incredibly stuffed but clean and refreshed afterwards. Honestly, it is one of the best meals I have ever had. At just $6.50 for this bowl, you can't beat the price either. Buddha's Delight is a vegetarian restaurant that employs the nicest Vietnamese women you will ever meet. All of the food is excellent, the service is fast, and it's cheap. What else could you want? More About: Light
Hunter Kills Tranny
2006-11-28 00:01:00 A hunter killed what I like to describe as a transgender deer in North Dakota today. Carmen Erickson shot and killed what he thought was a buck with a four by four rack, but upon inspection discovered to be a doe. Mr Erickson was quoted saying "It's got no male utilities...it has teats ... it was pretty unusual" Six of Mr. Ericksons hunting partners were there to witness the tranny animal. What kind of a name is Carmen for a guy anyway? Read the rest here. More About: Hunter , Kill , Hunt , Tran
Update: AFA Backs Down
2006-11-22 04:28:00 The American Family Association has announced that it is calling back it's ban on Wal Mart and Sams Clubs stores that was scheduled to take place this weekend. This decision comes after a press release from Wal Mart earlier today that says, in part, it "will not make corporate contributions to support or oppose highly controversial issues unless they directly relate to our ability to serve our customers." When did Wal Mart executives realize even the thriftiest of gays shop at Target? Really though, it's a shame, or at least it would be if anyone believed these kooks made a bit of difference. Reguardless, I guess we will have to wait until January 7 to see those little Santorum rascals cry again. The Wal Mart press release can be read here, and the AFA's response here. MI Prisoner Tortured
2006-11-21 23:31:00 The results of an autopsy released yesterday found that a prisoner of the Michigan Department of Corrections died of hyperthermia and dehydration after being "restrained" for almost five days without interruption. Timothy Joe Souders was about eight months into his prison sentence when, after being transferred to the Jackson Medical Facility, he was put into isolation for flooding his sink. He was restrained naked on a metal table and kept there for almost five days, sometimes laying in his own urine. Staff members paid no attention to his refusal of food and water. On August sixth, after only a couple hours after being let up, he collapsed on the way to his first shower in days and was transported to a Jackson Hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to the recently released autopsy report his death was hastened by hot, humid conditions and medications that causes dehydration. Charles Boltjes, a nurse that was charged to take care of Souders, was suspended in October ... More About: Prison , Torture , Riso
Rednecks Ban Wal Mart
2006-11-21 05:11:00 In a move that is sure to do nothing but temporarily upset the Christmas shopping of a few hundred idiots, the American Family Association has launched a war on Wal Mart and Sams Club stores across the country set to take place this weekend. Action alerts from the organization have asked customers to not shop at either chains in order to send a clear message of opposition to their promotion of a "homosexual agenda". Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Charges levied against the stores vary from giving a donation to the Northwest Arkansas GLBT Community Center to selling "pro-homosexual items from their website" but nothing can compare to the apparent atrocity of promoting "Brokeback Mountain" over "The Chronicles of Narnia" this past summer. According to their website nearly 400,000 thousand people have signed the pledge not to shop at the stores. The site goes on to suggest that members shop with local merchants instead of the retail giants. Will there be any Brats D... More About: Wal-Mart , Wal Mart , Redneck , Neck

Romney Beats Horse
2006-11-20 03:42:00 Governor Mitt Romney held an anti-gay rally on the steps of the Massachusetts State House today while standing in front of a huge American flag. After denouncing the state legislature, he threatened to circumvent it all together by asking the state's Supreme Court to force the Secretary of State into listing a ballot question that, if passed, would ban gay marriage. That is, unless the legislature met and voted on the question this January. This declaration comes as no surprise considering the governor has no legal right to call the legislature back from recess or force them to vote for or against anything. According to the state constitution, the ballot question, which began as a citizens petition last year and would ultimately become an amendment to the state constitution, is required to pass through two consecutive constitutional conventions before appearing on the 2008 ballot in a question that would read simply "Is marriage between a man and a woman?" After a recess in Ju... More About: Beats , Beat , Horse

Bush Plans Families
2006-11-17 23:07:00 President Bush appointed Eric Keroack, a gynocologist and obstretrician from Marblehead, Massachusetts to over see the Federal Office of Population Affairs today. What will Dr. Keroack be doing in his new job? He will be deciding how to spend a $283 million dollar budget tryng to convince teenage girls not to have sex. Until his recent appointment Dr. Keroack was the medical Director at "A Woman's Concern", which is a non-profit in Dorchester. That is sounds well and good until you take a look at their website here and realize what exactly this guy's idea of a woman's concern is. Not only do they offer free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds and counseling at six locations around Mass., but according to the statement of faith, one of the most important functions of the clinic is to "help women escape the temptation and violence of abortion". If that wasn't enough the center also opposes contriceptives, stating "A Woman's Concern is persuaded that the crass commercialization a... More About: Plans , Families , Plan , Lies
Wasting a Day - Part 1
2006-11-17 06:58:00 Every now and again I skip a day. I dont know how or when it started, but I usually figure it out by lunch and stop trying to fit 48 hours into a Tuesday afternoon. Sometimes though, and very rarely, I loose it completely. If this never happens to you then I suggest you try it, just don't start with a weekend day. Even though I don't really think getting a haircut, shopping for work clothes, washing the car, catching up with friends, grocery shopping and going to Blockbuster is a day off... I still feel cheated. When I get these days I like to waste them on the internet. It's the perfect blend of looking busy, wasting time, not moving and being anti-social I can think of. Below are a few of my favorite ways to waste time on the internets. Best of Craigslist You have probobly wasted time here before, but it just keeps getting better. This is a compilation of some of the best c-list posts ever. It goes back years with a few posts from each day usually. I can't even h... More About: Part , Sting

Made Gay?
More articles from this author:2006-11-16 07:56:00 A new exhibit now open at the Natural History Museum in Oslo says yes. Entitled "Against Nature?", the pioneer exhibit confronts the dispute head-on by displaying some of the more than 1500 species in which homosexuality has been observed and documented. It includes texts, photos and models of species which ultimately prove that not only do gay animals exist, they are common. The exhibit will be open to for public viewing until mid-August, next year. Here are a few of my favorite quotes from exhibition organizer Geir Soeli: As homosexual people are often confronted with the argument that their way of living is against the principles of nature, we thought that . . . as a scientific institution, we could at least show that this is not true." " "You can think whatever you want about homosexuals but you cannot use that argument because it is very natural, its very common in animal kingdom.
