I heard this Zen story in a TV show, gives a deep message about the teachings of Buddha. The original version may differ from what I write. Just try to understand the message it conveys, why did the monk do such a thing at the end? you have to think beyond the conventional thinking. There was this monk who had so much respect towards Lord Buddha. The monk was determined to attain enlightenment (realized the truth). He used to sit in front of a wooden Buddha statue in the temple and meditate. So many months passed, but he kept on meditating. He didn't reduce his effort for even a moment. Finally he attained enlightenment, it was the winter, and everything was so cold. So he chopped the statue in to pieces and made a fire.

Check out this video of a Barack Obama speech set to music. I really hope this guy could make a difference to the American politics which is mainly about money. His roots stretches back to kenya, he even has relatives in Kenya, one of my Kenyan friend who is one of his relatives told me that he's really cool guy. He's one of the inspirational & charismatic personality i have ever seen in American politics. The world simply loves him, for me Hilary is too politicized to be the president of America, already corrupt with so many connections, she won't be able to do any change to the world. * views from my villageLast Saturday I visited my grandma’s house, the journey revoked memories of my beautiful childhood. The village is situated far away inside the central mountain range of Sri Lanka. The landscape is filled with vast stretches of tea plantations. The road descends down to the village situated in a valley partly covered by rice fields. There is an old temple right in the middle of the rice field making the scenery picture perfect. We always used to point out the partly visible roof of grandma’s house to others when we were descending towards the valley below. I always loved to visit grandma’s house, specially during the New Year festival season, it was the central hub of entertainment for the whole village. It uses plasma thrusters which doesn't have any moving parts."What we want the infantrymen to be able to do is pull a pack of six or so out of their pocket and have them ready for use," Jamey Jacob, an associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering told the Daily.This aircraft is capable of doing surveillance of hostile areas, and would be a significant improvement to the surveillance capabilities today. LTTE bus bomb victims [image from defence.lk]This year is going to be the year of BLOOD. Even a 3rd grade school boy can predict this fact. It started with killing of T. Maheshwaran (Tamil MP of Opposition), it created huge debate among media and politicians. I watched the TV station "S" reporting the whole incident, step by step, wife crying, kids confused and disturbed. It was really sad to see people trying to over come the fact that they have lost some one they loved, brought tears o my eyes. The coverage was exclusive (bit too much I guess), more than half of the allocated time was spent on reporting this story. The news channel was clearly trying point the finger at the government for his death. Then came the assassination of D.M dassanayake(MP of the government), I switched on the TV to watch "S" news expecting an exclusive coverage, this time it was different, bit boring, the news was not designed to create sadness like in T Maheshwaran incident.
