Homelessness, mental illness and McDonald's
2007-04-24 23:14:00
Last Friday my family and I were enjoying a wonderful evening in Culver City. We had just finished shopping at Best Buy and were ready to find somewhere to eat. Since there was a McDonald's half a block a way we decided to eat there. When we first entered the McDonalds, it was reasonably clean and was decorated to honor movies from the 1920's to the present. As we were eating we were approached by a homeless man. He asked if he could have some fries. My girlfriend was going to give him some fries, then he said,"I don't want them"she said"Well why do you ask for fries and not want them?"he said,"Can I have hot mustard with them?"she gave him the mustard and the friesHe sat behind us, while we were still eating and he had then already finished his fries. He got up approached the table and said something sounding like "wanting number one and sleeping outside"I didn't quite understand him, and so I thought he wanted to order a big mac meal, which was the number one.So I said "L...

Choices, Choices, Choices
2007-04-04 00:00:00
I was thinking about my career and where I want to go. I know that I want to move to OregonHowever, I'd like to become a teacher first. The opportunity to become a teacher in Oregon is much more difficult than here in Los Angeles. They need more teachers here in Southern California than in Oregon. My fiance would like to become a librarian, her job now here in L.A. is of the kind she dreamed about, she wants to become a librarian. Here in L.A., there are many programs for library science where she can follow her dreams. So after almost six months or more of deliberating, we have decided not to leave California soon, and just to move out of Inglewood. The school district here in Inglewood, is not so nice, which is why we want to move to somewhere where they have a better school district, and less crime. We need to walk outside during the night without feeling as if there will be some type of crime being committed. I am expecting the best to come from our decision to stay here in...

My time in hell, gripe of the week
2007-03-28 02:21:00
For the past two weeks I've been working at my job as a receptionist. Most of the time everything runs smoothly. However, I will be writing my gripes in this blog.Today I will start with Gripe #1.Gripe #1If you have caller ID, don't misuse it.I get many calls per day with someone asking the question "Did somebody call here?" or any variation of "Somebody called me from this number", or "What is this?", "Who am I calling?".First of all, I'm a receptionist, not a mind-reader. If I were a mind-reader, I would not answer your phone call believe me, I'd let the phone ring to my heart's content. If you're calling someone just because you received a call from that number, then you should at least think of something better to say than to ask such questions. If the number seems strange, then it's either a miss-dialed call, or the call is not meant for YOU.However, If you feel that it's really important to call back, then think of something important to say. Here are some example...

The Pope on Punk'd
2007-03-24 00:08:00
Everyone knows now about the hit MTV Show Punk'd. In the show Ashton Kutcher, punk'ds (tricks people using hidden cameras) celebrities. The celebrities included are Britney Spears (eww gross), Justin Timberlake, Salma Hayek, the members of Outkast, the list goes on and on. However, I think Mr. Demi Moore, does not go far enough. What I would like to see is the Pope on Punk'd.If Ashton could somehow call up the Vatican and get Pope Benedict, Punk'd some way that would be awesome. For those of you who have sharp eyes and comment saying, "That's a picture of the wrong Pope!"I'd like to say, "BIG FAT DuHH"! I know the picture above is the old Pope not the new one. But it's a much nicer picture to look at than this one..Anyway, I'd like to see a big elaborate prank involving strippers, a flock of penguins, two clowns, a hippo, and 17 midgets dressed as nuns. That would be a gasser! Seriously now, I think if the pope can be seen as a celebrity exchanging high fives with Ashto...
Bums and Buses
2007-03-22 18:49:00
Lately I have been riding the MTA bus lines to and from work. What I have to say is not going to be pretty. My gripes about the buses will be listed below.Gripe #1.The buses don't run on time.Either they run too late, or too early. Wednesday morning Rosie and I were five minutes before the scheduled arrival time and the bus was not there. It was scheduled to be there at 6:19. We were there at 6:15. The actual bus did not arrive until 6:45. What's the point of putting up a bus time table if they're not going to be following it?By the way, I'm usually late to everything, but when I'm early I would at least like to be rewarded by getting all the perks that early people get. Is that too much to ask for?Gripe #2Bums.Bums smell, like urine, sweat, alcohol, feces, dirt. Bums stumble around, talk to themselves loudly, talk to YOU loudly, ask for change, make no sense. I suggest for the MTA buslines to install a decontamination chamber in each bus. That way the bum goes in dirty, ...

plazes.com
2007-03-21 00:40:00
I just learned about a new website titled plazes, in this website you can see where your friends are and pinpoint them on the internet. It's a real time gps (global position satellite) system but for people with cellphones.I think this is interesting, because you can track any of your friends without paying a fee and it's always nice to start a trend or be on the beginning of one. If you're wondering about privacy concerns, then I can assure you that if you're lucky enough to have a stalker, then you shouldn't be on the internet in the first place.Anyway you can look me up under thepacsays, and tell me what you think about the website, or show me how to use it.
Spider-Man and Mary Jane
2007-01-20 03:54:00
These two pictures below are wonderful spider-man art by Al Rio. He is a wonderful artist from Brazil. Al Rio specializes in comic book art and most of his art features the female form in a sensual/sexual way. His art can be seen on his own website and purchased as posters or lithographs.Pictured above and below are, Spider -Man and Mary Jane . They are a wonderful comic book couple. He is a nerd by day, a free swinging hero by night. Mary Jane is a movie star actress and sometime model. They are yin and yang in the comic book sense.Spider-Man is one lucky dude!

Kiki the kitten
2006-11-10 00:45:00
We had a kitten named Kiki, she was the most wonderful cat that anyone could have. She liked to bite me and scratch me at all times. Sometimes, I would be lying down and she would pounce on me and fly away like a murderous bandit. Sometimes I would chase after her and try to smack her with a sock. She was so quick and so conniving. I was never able to smack her with the sock. However, when I did trap her, I would put her in the closet for an hour and she would fall asleep. Our apartment manager said that we couldn't have a kitten in our unit. So we drove to Fresno and gave her to my in-laws. She's a happy kitten now. She loves the outdoors. Having a kitten is a wonderful experience.

Walking, World Cup, Yahoo
2006-04-06 02:40:00
i've not written lately as of yet. my activities for today include, walking two hours (for exercise).I've been reading a lot of funny jokes and basically playing Yahoo World cup trivia. Somehow the site is rigged or something because after a while I stop accumulating points. This leaves me at 210th place as of now. If anyone knows or works at Yahoo tell them to give me all the points that I deserve or else I believe it might be a conspiracy. Either way it's not fun to work hard to earn points and not get them reflected in the overall score. Thats all for now bye bye

Sick like a dog
2006-03-01 22:27:00
I've been sick like a dog lately. When I go to sleep I cough a lot and make weird noises. I went to my doctor who is old school. He has ancient medicinal tools, His office is old and stinky but it's sort of like a model of history past and present. He has old tools as well as new ones. I like going to him because his medicine is always the right one and also because he's subversive. When I mean that he's subversive is that he doesn't like the way that some segments of society run. For instance he thinks HMO's overcharge people and are morally suspect. He also thinks too many doctors prescribe ADD pills when none are necessary. He doesn't like the way our government runs. The list goes on and on. He's not hi tech but if you have a some type of illness he will either help you or direct you to someone who can without tons of paperwork or swearing bloodoaths or anything like that. He charges patients a fair price and many people who do not or can not afford health care go...

The Mud Children and The Bear Dog
2006-02-17 01:01:00
The other day, I went to work and discovered that the children were being overtaken by mud organisms which attached to their face and clothes. I have a picture of two of them. The first child pictured prominently here is in an altered state while the one behind her and to the left appears to be fearing for her life. I have a feeling that the bright light hurts their eyes after they become infected by the mud creatures. The mud had rendered these children into a paralytic state in which they stared intently at any adult interloper. I have no ideas where or when they might have been in contact with the mud like organisms but I noticed a strange truck parked outside. The truck was being driven by a bear dog. I'm quite sure that the dog driving the orange truck had brought a mud making device and contaminated all the children before anyone was able to intervene. As no adults were able to apprehend the nefarious dog, I was however fortunate enough to capture a picture of him inside his ...

The dead bee mystery
2006-02-03 23:52:00
Today I will discuss the dead bee mystery. It appears to me that every day along the walk paths there is a new dead bee laying on the floor (as pictured on the left). Lets say that I'm starting the new day at work and I walk from the main office entrance to the kitchen area for coffee, on my way to the kitchen as I walk through the hallway corridors I scan the ground and find a dead bee. When I first noticed the dead bees I thought nothing of it, perhaps it is the same bee mummified in the open air (I would think to myself). However one day I decided to pick the dead bee up and throw it away. The next day when walking through the path again, I spot another dead bee. So, I pick this bee and throw it away. Well this has been going on daily and I figure that the bees are coming here and they die. I spoke to one of my coworkers here and she said that not only does she see the same dead bees, but also that a coworker from her department squashes live ones when she spots them on the grou...

Mini Cooper and a Bad Word
2006-01-31 21:30:00
This morning as I was driving in traffic down Jefferson avenue to get to work I saw an awesome classic 1958 Mini Cooper . Because I was driving I didn't have the opportunity to take a better picture of the 58 Mini. Earlier while on the freeway, there was a green Volvo station wagon with a banana stuck on the luggage rack. It was so funny because it was wedged on there and it wasn't rotting yet. Although I figure when they get to work they will notice it. Unless they're not the type of people who look at their car after they get out after which they'll have to wash a rotten banana off of their car. And if you're wondering if it's dangerous to drive and take pictures of traffic while driving a car I'll tell you that it isn't because, the pictures that I had taken were at traffic stops. People who yak away on their cellphones or women who put make up on their faces while they drive are much more dangerous than anything I know. In other news yesterday while at work I was covering...

The Watchmen and the WashRooms
2006-01-30 21:22:00
This weekend I felt as sick as a boiled egg feels the day after Easter. I read a comic book called the watchmen, it was over long but very interesting. I recommend it to those who read graphic novels. If you're not into graphic novels or comic books, then you most likely will want to kill me if you read it.In other interesting news, I was listening to the Kevin & Bean Show on Kroq 106.7, and a woman who wrote a guide book on how to fight germs was talking about the most disgusting places and things where there are germs. I'm only going to list 7 of them. 1. The door knob to go into not out of a public restroom. 2. A public faucet handle. 3. Your office desk is nastier to eat off of than a toilet seat. 4. The comforter in a hotel/motel. 5. The remote control in a hotel/motel. 6. The microwave handle in a hotel/motel. 7. Avoid using the hand air blower, it is best to use your pants or let your hands drip dry. That's the most uselful information for today. See yawl later.

Chocolate Brownie Frappucino
2006-01-27 02:17:00
I mourn the loss of the Chocolate Brownie Frappucino, which was discontinued by Starbucks a year or two ago. It seems that they finally make a flavor I like, and discontinue it. The local starbucks barista had told me that the Java Chip Frappucino tastes the same but I know that it really doesn't. If anyone reading this has had a similar experience let me know and I'll keep you posted on what I find. As for me, today the day is over and I perhaps shall write again tomorrow.
