Yes, you are right! Bollywood has outdone itself this time... A whole freakin guitar solo by Van Halen himself, copied as is and used brazenly in the promo! Who do they think they are, passing off other peoples music as their own?Kya mujhe Pyar hai ripped off a Philipino song... Roxette's "The Look" chorus tune was ripped off in the movie "Army"I give up. I hope they get sued big time and go bankrupt. It does not hurt to attribute your sources, people... Its a deadly combo of laziness, procrastination and deadlines at work :PA few weeks ago, Mom's long leave to Kuwait got over and she came back home. I went over and we had a wonderful family get together as even Rishi came. Before coming back to Chennai , I told Mom and Dad that they HAD to come and see my place in Chennai. Dad had come last year and set me up,but Mom didn't know anything about where I stayed etc.They came over a couple of weeks ago - by road. That's one way of ensuring how not to miss a flight.No comments :PAnyway, they came, they saw, they were horrified. Evidently, Mom thinks I don't clean up much. The maid had cleaned my flat that very day. So, that either meansA. My mom really keeps high standards of cleanliness :PB. My standards are better left unsaid :)C. See what i did there - 84 points... lolI'm sure there are better bingos out there, but this was my first... Wooooop!!!!:PEdit:Faisal from the UK pointed out that I didn't really explain what a "bingo" is in scrabble/ scrabulous.If you use all your 7 letters it is a 'bingo'. When you get a bingo you get 50 bonus points on top of whatever the word is worth. The 50 points are not multiplied though, even if you are on a double or triple word score square.I think the board game called this a "scrabble" and the scrabulous folks called it bingo, for copyright purposes. Anyway, he was stuck somewhere, so I decided to check out Ecstasy , which was so highly recommended by Amulya.I had passed this by earlier without going inside, the frosted glass not helping my assumptions much. It looked more like a premium hotel or something, on the lines of "Not just Jazz by the bay" in the E Square complex in Pune.The snacks here are delicious, the staff is knowledgeable about what they are serving. The chocolates are divine.I think I'll take some when I go back home to meet my folks. :) More About: Lounge , Pastry

Friends dropping in....
2007-09-26 16:09:00 I keep cribbing that my weekends suck. I never got to do anything interesting. I used to sleep late, reading books, listen to music, watch TV, read comics, and then sleep some more. Since Chennai has notoriously sunny weather (to use an euphemism), I usually make like Dracula. I mean, I avoid the sun if humanly possible. Unless, of course, I have to go to a movie. Rusty had come down once, and we slipped into a theater just to escape the heat. The movie was so-so, "Hatrick", meant to cash in on the wold cup fever, not that it did the movie any real good as India went and got themselves knocked out by Bangladesh. The movie was good timepass though. I also go out on bike rides to clear my head.. Check out the post below somewhere for a picture I took on the Tidel Park Road. Here is another video of me and Rusty on Marina Beach. Took us 6 to 7 minutes to bike across the llength of the beach. So far, I have not yet caught up with the lingo here - unlike in Maharashtra, where the script at least was like Hindi, I could guess (usually unsuccessfully :$ ) what was being said, here it is not so. My maid talks to me in Tamil , and I talk to her in broken english. I don't know what makes me do that, since she won't understand anyway, but I do it. :) It wouldn't make any difference if I spoke in hindi, marathi and bengali to her. She just wont understand. So, when I really need to make her understand, I do a combination of dumb charades and broken english. She nods her head wisely. I give up. Somethimes, I catch the landlord and tell her to translate. Life is tough.Dad gave me an iron to iron my clothes after they get washed. I haven't used it yet. An ironing lady has her shop downstairs, and charges absolutely nothing to iron clothes.
