Asafa Powell lowers 100m record to 9.74 in Italy
2007-09-09 20:40:00 Less than an hour into his record breaking feat I have already been bombarded by a phone call, an email and two comments on my blog related to Asafa Powell ’s new world record posted today in Italy . I see my new job as Asafa’s critic has already has some effect eh? Firstly I will say I am proud of him, he has just proved again that he is the fastest man alive. His Osaka 2007 hiccup better be behind him and his growth mentally I hope will be successful or he will just prove my point that he can’t run among the “big boys”. My main point of contention was that he GAVE UP, I mean you can’t just give up because you didn’t win, that’s unforgivable! Some (my mom and neighbor) have already began to wonder why he never runs big races in Jamaican colours but as soon as the private races with lots of zeros behind the prize money come up he chews through the field faster than minime humping Dr evil's Lazer ^_^. I look forward to the next time he runs with that Gay fellow. I just ordered th... More About: Record , Well
Games Convention Asia September 6 – 9 2007 in Singapore
2007-09-09 17:14:00 I wasn’t even aware that there was a Games Convention Asia (GCA) 2007, but a fellow blogger and Singapore national Betshopboy was kind enough to drop me a line to share his experience and pictures he took at the event. I must say that I am very impressed by the size and scale of the event and the many exhibitors. This underlines my thought that we here in the west don’t even begin to take our gaming as serious as those in Asian countries like South Korea, China, Singapore and of course Japan. Nintendo was there so you know it was enjoyable ^_^. Here is a sample of the pictures taken by betshopboy and check out his full experience and lots more pictures over at his blog at betshopboy.net. The Tokyo Game Show is just around the corner, can you say excited? More About: Gaming

2007-09-07 18:47:00 I’m big anime fan and to me one of the most important parts of the anime experience is not even the anime itself but the intro and ending music and when I am ratings anime on a scale of one to ten I would give as much as two points for just the intro and ending music alone. Well my current favourite anime Claymore scores very high in the intro category and for the past few weeks the full version of the opening theme by Nightmare called Raison d’ętre has been a regularly listened by me. Tokyo VR Project - panoramic views of all over the the city
2007-09-06 05:54:00 Every time I here or see anything related to Virtual Reality (VR) the stupid VR Troopers theme song plays in my head (we are, we are VR Troopers), oh boy, the things we used to watch as kids ^_^. Anyway there is an ongoing Tokyo VR project. The project aims to capture a panoramic view of scenes from Tokyo that can be accessed online. I don't understand much of the text on the site but there is little to read and lots to see so check it out. There are scenes from all over at different times of day, the countryside and even underground. The shots are scrollable 360 degrees but you must have quicktime installed on your PC to view and scroll them properly. Here is a sample of what can be seen on the site: [ Via- Hemmy.net ] More About: Views , General , Project , City

iPod touch, touching really is good
2007-09-05 23:30:00 I missed the iPod bus and still haven't caught it with all the stops it made to upgrade and add spin offs plus the iPhone is what a categorize as a wallet raper and when I thought about it, it didn't make sense to go through all the trouble importing, unlocking, duties etc to get one. Gordon dropped me a link over messenger a couple minutes ago though to show me the brand new iPod Touch ....the bus can't miss me now!!!! Sean Kingston get well large now, pon front page and pure tingz!!! [ read more at Engadget | ZDNet | Cnet ] In other news that weirdly enough its touch related I got a new black Nintendo DS yesterday to replace the one my sister broke recently, it's works though...a little...it still managed to save me from boredom during Hurricane Dean....didn't get any of the games I wanted with the new one though -_-. Don't worry my cam will be bought soon so i can show off things like that ^_^ Touching is Good More About: Ipod , Ally
It's not official but as far as I see it the the JLP are victorious
2007-09-04 22:03:00 The JLP has won, it's still "unofficial" but from the estimates, debates, media and minds of the people I know it's a JLP victory. The outgoing Prime Minister and Peoples National Party President Portia Simpson-Miller has lost to the the Bruce Golding led Jamaica Labour Party although she still has been reluctant to accept defeat, ooh well I wonder if she will remain as one of the top 100 most powerful women in the world. Unlike regular commentors and fellow Jamaican bloggers Bobby and Jamaican Girl I am quite the youngster and although I was born when the JLP was last in power I have only known PNP rule which has been uninterrupted for the past 18 years. Lets see what the JLP can do because I have decided that next time around I will be exercising my right to vote and accepting my role as a Jamaican. Well enough of the politics blogging check out what other bloggers are saying re the Elections: Jamaican Girl asks Who is in Charge of Jamaica? The Gleaner Election Blog asks Is J... Official results of the Jamaican Elections pending, JLP ahead of the PNP by
2007-09-04 06:53:00 I just spend 4 hours glued to my TV switching between our two major local channels TVJ and CVM TV trying to make sense out off all the information flowing in and to see who won today's elections. After all those hours I am so confused that I will just go to bed and brace myself for what will or will not happen in the recount tomorrow, because as it is now it's 31 seats for the JLP and 29 seats for the PNP. Quite frankly I am scared right now, scared of what might happen in the recounts and various court battles that have already begun, the violence, the anarchy, the tension...I better go sleep off this headache....I hate blogging about Politics. I'll be linking to other Jamaica bloggers who are blogging up a political storm when I make my final post on these elections when the victor is decided. Jamaicans Vote Today - who will win PNP or JLP?
2007-09-03 18:52:00 It's been coming for what seems like forever but after a lenghtly wait for it's annoucemet, a lengtly wait for it after it was announced and a delay due to Hurricane Dean today is finally the day when Jamaica will vote. I'm not very "political", I've never voted although this is the second time I am able and old enough to. I just feel disconnected from the political process and as my granny would say "six ah one half dozen ah di addah" meaning it's the same thing no matter how you look at it and thats my thoughts on the two major political parties. I will not even get into the details of it I just hope, wish and pray that the day with go through with very little if any violence. Jamaica Observer Editorial Cartoon for September 3rd 20007 Jamaica's Major Political Parties The People's National Party (PNP) is a democratic socialist Jamaican political party, founded by Norman Manley in 1938. Claymore figure - some say Claire, others say Clare; I just want this Statu
2007-09-03 05:36:00 How do I prefer to spell it...Clare, cuz thats the spelling I am used to when watching the anime. This new Claymore figure/statuette will be debuting at the end of November. I remember being a action figure collector as a younger youngster but unfortunately I also liked to play with fire and dropping things from high places. If I ever manage to get my hands on any of these beauties though the only fire there is will be in the hearts of my friends while I skip around showing it off to them. I think if and when I can afford to I will become a collector of things like these, I can already imagine a room in my future house dedicated to all things otaku, yes geeky, I know! ^_^ [ First seen at Dannychoo ] More About: Anime and Manga , Claire , Figure , Lair
Jamaican Athletics Team still one of the best in the world leaves Osaka wit
2007-09-02 16:31:00 Jamaica stamped it’s class as one of the top nations in Athletics in the world at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka Japan. The Jamaica team walked away with 10 medals in the 9 day Championships; 1 Gold, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze medals, a decent improvement over our 8 Medals in Helsinki in 2005 and double our 5 medals from France in 2003. The statistic that is more important to me though is the points table, where Jamaica is placed 4th, that’s the result I am most proud of. Another interesting bit on information is that this wasn’t Jamaica’s strongest team, as a couple of our top athletes such as Sherone Simpson, Bridget Foster-Hylton and Michael Frater all came down with injuries just before the championships. Who would have thought that this tiny island nation would have risen to such great heights in athletics when we made our international debut in 1948 when Author Wint won Jamaica’s first gold medal at the 1948 London Olympics in the 400m, and a silver medal in the 800m. X-Seed 4000 - building this is possible in my lifetime
2007-08-29 23:18:00 The Shimizu Mega City is just one of the many buildings completely planned out for Japan and only waiting on the materials, funding and technology to be able to bring them to fruition. One other such project is the X-Seed 4000, at 13,123 feet high, the massive, mountain-shaped building envisioned by Japan's Taisei Construction Company would overshadow Mount Fuji itself by nearly 700 feet. Can it be built? Experience has taught to "never say never", lunar exploration was thought to be impossible only a hundred years ago and from the looks of it we are not far away from setting foot on Mars. Japan is rich, technologically advanced, disciplined and has a small hint of insanity (the good type). About Taisei Construction Company Taisei Corporation is a leading Japanese architect-engineer-contractor, with four core areas of operation: building construction, civil engineering, real estate development, and engineering. Otaku – they come in all shapes and sizes
2007-08-28 22:07:00 There are lots of fans of Japan in the world, we geeks don’t have hide in our basements or hide or “otakuness” to remain cool anymore. In fact, lately we have been in demand now many consider us “cool”. Whether you are an Otaku or not you have to tip your hat, helmet or any other cranial protection device you might be wearing to this “lil fellow”. An Otaku expression caught on camera has never looked cooler, check out the flag he is wearing. Veronica Campbell - chases down victory in the 100m
2007-08-27 19:41:00 Winners never quit and quitters never win – anonymous All the qualities that I stated that Asafa Powell lacked in his defeat to Tyson Gay (and Derrick Atkins) where present today in Veronica Campbell today when she ran from the back of the pack to steal victory by a whisker and displayed to the world that she was a true champion and not a quitter. Congratulations to you Veronica, my respect and admiration for you just reached a higher level, I am looking forward to seeing you in the 200m and relays. More About: Victory , Tory , Hase
Asafa Powell, this fan just turned a critic, a very harsh critic
2007-08-27 00:05:00 Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure - George Woodberry It is my opinion that currently Asafa Powell lacks the mental fortitude that is needed to be counted among the all time greats of track and field. It took me a few hours to digest his defeat at the World Championships in Osaka Japan. It is not the embarrassing defeat or his lack of a major title other than the world record, it's his facial expression and submission to a challenge from that Gay fellow. How can you give up?!?!? so what if you would have came in second? but to hang your head mid race and limp through like a mongrel who has just been scolded by his master (tail between his legs and all) is what is disturbing, I will not even go on about how he threw away his silver medal, albeit it a great run and national record for my Bahamian brethren and Caribbean brother Derrick Atkins. Full RSS feed is back
2007-08-26 23:15:00 My one month experiment with a limited RSS Feed and not a full one has ended in disaster. I followed bad advice which said that offering a limited feed would get more of your RSS feed subscribers to visit the site directly than just reading your content through a feed reader, well judging from my feedburner stats exactly the opposite happened. So now I have re-enabled full feeds so if you have not already done so please subscribe to my RSS feed. What is a RSS Feed? RSS (which, in its most recent format, stands for "Really Simple Syndication") is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a "feed", "web feed", or "channel", contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually. RSS content can be read usi... More About: Back , Full

If you are an anime fanatic like me you know that torrents are the main lifeline to get our anime fixes and most of the major anime translation and distribution sites create torrent files which we then use to download anime for free. Torrents are not always very good though because they dependent on other users having the file you want to download and “seeding” it so that you the “leecher” can download it. Unfortunately at times when there are not many people with the torrent file you want torrents can be slow, time consuming and at times totally unusable. 2007-08-25 21:40:00 The 2007 IAAF World Championships in Athletics 2007 have started in Osaka Japan and already Jamaica has been up front and getting lots of attention.
