I’m so giddy!!
2007-11-19 23:05:00 Minutes ago we got the call. We got the house in Olney. Drinks all around ya’ll. I’m buying tonight. We got another offer on our home over the weekend from a couple that looked and ‘felt’ like Randy and I six years ago. They looked like us. They were all full of dreams, hopes and talk of wee little feet in the house. They looked Friday night at 8:30pm, again on Saturday and again with their parents on Sunday. All that for an offer of 305K. Yeah nothankyou. We went with a nice single lady who gave us an offer below our asking price but close to what we wanted to get for our house. woot woot! We are battling out the closing/settlement date as it is now at Dec 28th. I personally do not want to move all my christmas gifts to the new house I’d much rather move the weekend before Christmas but we’ll see what happens. ack! We’re moving!! Anyone have boxes?!?

2007-11-18 19:34:00 We are in the middle of counteroffer hell right now…and with the house we want in Olney their counteroffer wo use was laughable in this market so we bounced back at them and they’ll respond on Monday. We got another couple come through the house yesterday who put an offer together last night and we are waiting to get the offere into our hands to read it before going back to the first person who we are currently counteroffering with. Did you follow that?! Yeah me neither. Should have news on Monday. We decided to jump ship and tell Woody this facility no longer supplies diapers in his size. It’s been two days and he’s back doing his thing on the potty. THANK GOD. So far so good but we’ll see how this week goes. We are also busy looking up stops to make along our route to Yellowstone in May. We got a HUMOGO map from Barnes and Nobles that lists every state with every major road. 2007-11-16 15:28:00 Things have been a little wacky here. I fell off the NaBloPoMoFo wagon and I do not regret it. Well maybe a little…I just have no energy to stay on top of anything these days. My kids are in full winter madness mood. I will not let them run around outside like maniacs when it’s windy, rainy and cold out so they run around inside which makes for one grumpy mama. We made an official offer on the house we want in Olney on Wednesday night. We went by the house one more time before signing the contract. I’m still in love and I can’t stop thinking about all the wonderful things we could do to that home. We haven’t heard back from the realtor yet on whether or not they accept our offer so Randy and I are anxious, excited and biting our nails to shreds just worrying about whether or not we’ll get it. 2007-11-14 20:10:00 We got two more offers this morning. We are anxiously waiting for our realtor to draw up the contract on the house we want in Olney. ack. Things are looking serious. We may move right before Christmas or we are looking to move the week right after Christmas. Holy Moly like we don’t have enough going on that week. 2007-11-14 13:25:00 I got some great news yesterday and some scary news. The scary news is about Randy’s cousin who we just found out has M/S. She has suffered physically her whole life from RA and has been on so many drugs over the years her only rival in this category is Melinda. I’m heartbroken but also optimistic. Randy’s grandmother who is 87 was diagnosed with M/S back when she was 31. She’s a healthy happy grandma. The great news is about Heidi. I am so happy for you and I won’t reveal the secret here until your ready. So so happy for you! Wish I could fly down to Austin this weekend to be with you. We have a showing of our home in an hour better run the vacuum or something….

2007-11-12 14:20:00 That go through your mind on a six hour drive back from NY. -One liners that you sing at the top of your lungs because a) your alone in the car and b) because you can. -Why do you always find and see billboards for an Adult World Store on a long drive home? Why does an Adult store always have a large 70’s style van in front of it? creeeepy. -What is it about rest stop bathrooms? They are always sparkly clean. Tax dollars at work… -McDonald’s grilled chicken salad is gross. The chicken is rubbery and the lettuce is blah. -Driving in the dark and rain through the mountains with lots of tractor trailers is a bit scary. -Making the six hour drive to get away from two screaming needy monkeys with her. Totally worth it. *more about this later* -Spending a Saturday hitting five winery’s in seven hours. Wonderful. -Reaffirming my dislike for young NY blonde’s. Priceless. 2007-11-11 13:17:00 It was 20K less than our listing price. WHAT? Okay seriously people the house across the street from us is a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath place no addition. Just your average gingerbread house. It’s going for 380k. Our house is a 2 bedroom 2 bath house with a nice sized addition/gourmet kitchen (although it is a green that everyone is mentioning) and we low balled our price at 349K so we would sell it in a month or two. You could buy a condo for 320K in Rockville but a house with a yard like ours um….no. Sorry please drive thru. When Randy told me I think my jaw was on the floor like what? Really? The good news is six couples walked through our house this weekend. I know we’ll find a buyer this month. I can feel it. More About: Offer

First Hot Chocolate
2007-11-09 13:11:00 Woody and I had a rare treat yesterday. We got to spend an afternoon with PawPaw while Coupe and MawMaw slept. Woodrow is so sweet and tender when it’s just the two of us. He doesn’t throw things, or scream or hit. He’s mellow, calm and delightful to be around. We went for a long, cold walk outside to get some of his energy out and then headed inside for the best part of the fall/winter season. Hot Chocolate . First taste. Yup I think he approves. I like Iced Coffee he said. I said No Woody it’s hot chocolate. No mommy. Coffee. No Woody it’s Hot Chocolate. No Coffee. Okay honey it’s toddler coffee.

2007-11-08 13:44:00 So the first thing Randy says after my long ass day yesterday is “You know better than to pick up the dog.” thanks honey. Way to be supportive. In his defensive he’s right I do know better than to pick up the dog because I know after five years of living with Olie that when you pick him up he will pee. In times of high stress and anxiety I don’t exactly think straight or sideways. I just do what needs to be done and do it. So…having the potential buyers see pee flying all over me is a minor consequence for getting the dog out of the stressful situation. More About: Husbands

2007-11-08 02:44:00 Today was complete chaos. I have no idea why I’m choosing to write this rather than passing out on the couch with a big bag of blue corn chips. A Realtor called me at 9:35am to tell me that he had a client to show the house to. They would be by at 9:45am. I can’t tell you how calmly I said um, okay. Hung the phone up and screamed. Woody walked over to me and said what’s wrong mommy? I said we have to go and clean and go. He said oh that’s terrible mommy. I have no time for you kid. Ran around like a crazy woman doing all the things I should have done last night. ack! I left the storage room open so the boys decided to climb into Olie’s crate. Sure kids do whatever you want while I scrub down the sinks and vacuum. ack. Thank GOD I had just finished the dishes and cleaned off the stove this morning before the Realtor called because I would have said HELL NO do not come here. 2007-11-07 14:25:00 The boys are sick, I’m sick. Life is no fun here….but I found an soccer program that will accept the boys at their young (hyper) age. I signed them up and they start December 1st. Indoor soccer on Saturday mornings. woohoo. Randy and I are so excited. Randy will take one boy while I take the other every Saturday morning until mid March. We’ll be laying low this week while the boys get better and I try to keep my sanity with two whiny toddlers. I’m diving right into gluten/dairy free baked goods this afternoon. While I know it won’t be as glamorous as my previous pastry gigs it will be a lot of fun to experiment with recipes. Wish me luck. More About: Stuff

2007-11-06 13:14:00 We had a lovely day at the zoo yesterday and even found Beth at the zoo! The boys were hyper and ran a lot. We stayed from 10am-3pm and it wore them out! I’ll have to go there once a week or something just to get that energy out. We got some really nice feedback on our house yesterday after the showings this weekend. Major problem is the size. Yup we knew that. We looked at homes up in Frederick again last night. It would cost us so much in gas if we moved up there. *sigh* I long for the McMansion but is it worth all the extra gas money we’d need?

2007-11-04 13:46:00 We had two showings yesterday. ack! We were running around like crazy folks yesterday trying to get everything just so. The boys and I headed for the park while the potential buyers looked at the house. Olie acted like a big dog to a huge pit bull at the park. I thought I’d come home with one less boy. Olie your bark is not deep enough to compete with a pit bull. Sorry boy but your a dachshund less than a foot tall. No dog is afraid of you. Maybe Chihuahua’s are..but that’s about it.

Well….when things get heated for Randy and I; I clean. A LOT. This morning I was scrubbing the baseboards of my house because the whole damn house is clean because we’ve staged the damn thing so well and I’m on top of the cleaning. In my anger I resorted to clean the god damn baseboards. Who does that on their morning off? Luckily Randy took the boys to Columbia this morning so I’ll get a good 2 hours alone in the house to read, relax and have breakfast alone quietly. More About: Anger

While it is a ‘light’ book and an easy read (thanks for the recommendation Jessica) I got through it and now I know that I need to be a ‘tougher’ mother. The basic gist of the book is it’s easy to say no, maybe, okay fine you can have the damn cookie. It’s harder to say no and mean no and stand your ground and be a better mom for it. I’ve been struggling the past few weeks as a mom. Trying to find my footing again with two little boys that seem to be bowling over me on a daily basis. I’ve been praying a lot, singing a lot, dancing a lot and generally trying to find out who I am again to help myself become a better mom. I know I need to get rid of this joint pain to STOP being such a bitchy bitch about life. It’s a huge crutch in my life right now. Constant pain and aggravation. It all makes me want to scream out “I’m done.” But….I wake up everyday get that first cup of... More About: Life

2007-10-30 14:19:00 I start my gluten free diet on Thursday. I’m cleaning out my kitchen this week and gearing up for a two month GF life in the hopes that it will make my achy joints feel a little better on a daily basis. I’ve been cutting back on Gluten over the last two weeks but I wanted to hit a good restaurant tonight to enjoy the gluten goodness before I set down this track for good. Any suggestions? I can’t go to an Italian place because Randy does not eat tomato based dishes. (physical issues not because he doesn’t like them!) Maybe a good Thai/Chinese place or a good burger joint or …I don’t know what are you favorite places to go for a good meal? Oh and by the way I’ve been enjoying Soy milk for the last week and I’m enjoying it. I shocked myself with this. I was scared to death to try Soy Milk. It just looked disgusting to me….but I like it. I still haven’t found a ‘fake’ cheese that I like. I miss cheese so so so much.
Toddlers and halloween costumes

Please notice the halloween costumes behind Melinda. Scary stuff. We I packed up a ton of stuff and about 3/4 of the boys’ toys. Our house is starting to look bigger already.
