Why didnt I start my diet on January 1st ? - Because it was New years day and no one starts on new years day.Why hadnt i Started my diet on January 2nd ? Because I still had a cold and needed comforting - so ate loads of chocolate.Why didnt I start my diet last weekend? There is no point until everyone goes back to school and work and things go back to normal.So why didnt I start my diet today? Well because the kids had an inset day and there was a box of christmas biscuits left that were calling my name.Why will I definately start my diet tomorrow ? Because I just saw how fat I look in this photo ......gutted..(A very rare picture of me on the left with my sister Natalie at christmas)After outwitting my son Ethan today he asks "how did you know that?"I answered "Because I am your mother and I know everything!"He replys "You dont .... Yes I am back from my holidays - yes there was much Sangria and hangovers. We had a fab time - check out the pics at the bottom on the left.And since then I have sunk into the oblivion that is the summer holidays. Getting up later means I cant sleep at night and its a vicious circle. I havent seen 'real' people in ages and the kids on the street are driving me mad.I am looking forward to getting back to reality - whatever that is asap.

Teachers training days are great arnt they **Hint - I was being sarcastic** In one of my less intelligent moments I decided cooking would keep children happy. Lets just say we will be eating fairy cakes for days and the kitchen will never be the same again. Whilst the kids were eating their creations I spent the afternoon counting pennies - I kid you not! We are saving every penny to go on our holidays, we are driving to Spain (yes I know thats mad) I have to have a house sitter because I have a plant to water - Yes I know its random but I have kept a plant alive for more than two weeks and thats a miracle for me. All hail Sarah's Basil!!!I also did alot of this ......Because on my way to Spain I want to stop here ...I am just one big kid, I am sooooo excited - I havent told the kids yet, its a surprise

On an out of the blue visit to Morris ons (as part of our blatent refusal to shop at Tesco) last weekend we stopped at the fish counter. The fish monger was an enthusiastic little man who inspired us to try something different. Bad move .... we ended up buying some of these little lovlies!I have no idea what I was thinking!! No they are not prawns they are langoustines and are supplied raw in their shells. By the time we got home we had forgotton how to cook them so decided to steam them. This was also a bad idea as not only meant we could hear the shells cracking but we could see the eyes boiling. By the time they were ready Gary was already on the phone to the local chinese in a blatent refusal of having anything more to do with them, I on the other hand refused to give up without a fight. Race for life?? Yes I ran, it was humid, it was raining, I got wet and nearly killed myself trying to beat my daughter's snooty teacher. Ha ... eat my dust Miss!!! We got around in 57 minutes which wasnt too bad considering we walked most of it whilst commenting on everything from the woman in fronts pink daisy covered shorts to world peace! It was emotional ok!! I got a medal though that was good, and sadly I wore it most of the day.In other news today I travelled on a bus!! Now this may not seem strange to you but to me this is a major thing. I hate buses and pride myself on the fact I wouldnt know where to stand to catch one. OMG it cost me £1.30 to travel 2 miles, what a rip off. Apparently if you travel on buses you have to be prepared to discuss the weather with as many old people as possible... No the dentist didnt kill me in some freak drill accident - I am alive albiet with a chesty cough from hell (and no .. Mum I will not see a doctor only to be told it's bloody viral!!)When the dentist told me she was going to do the filling without the injection I started shaking uncontrollably but truth be told - it was ok. It didnt cause massive amounts of pain and I will live to eat the usual bag of nuts at Christmas time. Sunday I do the race for life. It started out as a bet between my sister Emily and me. We permanently have some bet going, anyway as time has gone on we have both failed to keep up the "go to the gym really often" bet and the "lets lose a stone" bet so now we are totally screwed when it comes to Sunday. I have been fortunate enough never to know anyone with cancer but when I looked into the race I felt hypocritcial just doing it for a laugh. She splattered blood all over my face - and even worse it was my own blood. Today was my first trip to the dentist since the practice changed hands. Its changed from a one dentist welcoming enviroment to a super sterile stainless steel business run by many female straight talking emotionless 6ft twenty something's. It was a daunting experience. The first thing that bothered me was the empty waiting room! Then there was the abrupt bedside manner. "Turn head", "Rinse", "Open mouth". After my check up she concluded (loudly) that I need a filling (which I knew) and that another appointment had to be made. Could she let me walk away empty handed? Oh no, she decided a descale and polish was in order. And so it began. I think she missed my teeth altogether because seriously my gums have never bled that much (and my teeth look no different) It took three tissues to wipe the blood from my face and five rinses to get rid of the awful taste. My gums are now purple.And crap I still...

In the last couple of weeks I have discovered to my horror that I dont know everything. As a Mum to a seven and five year old surely I should at least know the following.On the subject of ladybugs, I discovered they can bite. Really this had never occured to me before. An in depth discussion with Joanna led to me looking it up to prove her wrong and then hurrying away to do 'Mum stuff' when I discovered she was right.A few days and a geography lesson later I explain to her that we dont get earthquakes in the UK and what happens the next day? How unreal was that? I have also told her we dont have volcanos here but suddenly I am not so sure.As well as this....Giving children more space to play in doesnt mean less mess it means more! I need say no more.Buying said children a keyboard for christmas was not encouraging creativity it was encouraging headaches.And Rice Krispie cakes are not a quick, easy and tidier way to 'cook' with your children.

One of the kids teachers is getting married. He is a quiet man and doesnt like fuss so the school decided to push the boat out. They secretly arranged for the whole school to dress in wedding outfits. For the morning they arranged a service and in the afternoon a reception.It was a beautiful sight to see two hundred children dressed as smartly as can be. I am not sure if it was appropriate but they told all the children they were going to join in a toast, They popped open a bottle of bubbly and then sneakily swapped the bottles and gave them all sparkling water.Then even more inappropriately every adult there (including myself) was handed an ample glass of the real stuff - But you wont catch me complaining as it was the first drink I have had in a month.In other news my daughter has developed a disturbing obsession with volcano's and the unfortunate fate of Pompei. She wants to know all the gruesome details - She so takes after her mother.

Has anyone else tried these get paid to surf things? Was just wondering, I signed up for this oneAdbux It seems ok. I guess I am just looking for the next big internet thing as I am bored of Myspace and everything else thats grabbed my undivided attention for .... oooo two days.So what is it that everyone else is doing online? Am I missing out on something big? Is anyone else getting bored of blogging and all the other things that were big for a bit. I heard about this second life but decided I couldn't as a 31 year old wander around an internet world pretending that I wasnt in an elaborate chat room with lots of spotty teenagers (no offence intended)So now I end up doing boring grown up stuff online (and no it doesnt involve porn) I check the news and the weather and my bank account and this is just too boring for words.What happened to the old internet? Where I would stay up til 2am and to hell with it if I couldnt get up to get the kids to school the next day.

Yesterday my sister bought the kids a goody bag each, the type that come with toys and sweets. Ethan's contained a boomerang, which he was most thrilled with. However this morning after many, many attempts he discovered that no matter how he threw it, it was never going to return to him. This really bugged him and after some intensive thought he decided that this was not on, The boomerang would return to him. So he dissapeared for five minutes and came back with his boomerang, He had tied string to it and sellotaped it down (just in case!!)He then went out side, held onto the string and threw it as hard as he could and yanked it back with the string. Cheerfully he declared to me "There, see I fixed it". He hasn't played with it since.

I swear I cleaned the bathroom this morning but if you went in there right now you would never believe I have. There is sand in the bath.. SAND.. I mean where the freaking hell did sand come from?? Next to the sink is a sweet tub full of blue coloured water and in the sink there is lots of multi coloured toilet paper. There are pencil sharpenings on my newly hovered carpet and toothpaste on the toilet seat. The scarey thing is the kids were only up there ten minutes so imagine the destruction they are capable of. So I blame lack of life for lack of blogging, but hey, looks like I'm not the only one - Blog ging seems to be going out of fashion, I notice a good few of my reads have decided to stop writing and everyone seems to be waiting for the next big (internet) thing. So because I am in a rush heres the last two weeks in point form.Kittens began to make noise... not good.In work they tried to give us training on how to play playground games with the children, they sent a newly qualified teacher to do this - needless to say we had a laugh and he went home very stressed. Serves them right - I know how to play tag!!! I was a child once!!Kittens found out how to get out of their basket .... bad.Hubby moved jobs and is now working alot harder than ever before, I see him even less but I know he will enjoy the challenge and do really well.Kittens discovered how to walk .... I am not a patient person so when I discovered that the cat was pregnant I was glad it was only 65 days I would have to wait to have lots of little kitties around. Only problem is I have no idea when the 65 days started so I awake every morning wondering if she has popped them out!She is irriated by it all now and waddles everywhere and has to sit down on the journey from the living room to the kitchen because apparently its just too far. I have to keep all doors closed especially upstairs because if she decides to give birth under Ethan's bed he would flip. He cant sleep with the light off, He would have no hope with kittens under his bed.So we all wait and wait and wait, Joanna is as impatient as me. Please be in the next few days - I just want to get it over with.

Some things really bug me! I dont feel strongly about many things but this is one of them. Our local council has decided yet again that they will, by whatever means get rid of the small business and move in the big business.When we moved to Llanelli six years ago, it was a nice friendly town with a vibrant town centre and a small out of town shopping facility. In the years since it seems like where ever there is green they have built on it. Initially I saw this as progress but now it just seems like we have a council intent on forcing our town into a mass of large shopping chains. The small out of town shopping facility has been rebuilt closing most of the shops that were there before and making it gridlocked on a weekend due to a badly designed car park.This has had the knock on effect on the town centre and shops are closing on an almost weekly basis - unfortuanely all small retailers. And now the council have decided to develop the eastern quarter of the town (neglecting the town...

I have done something really silly and signed up to race 4 life This isnt silly because it raises millions for Cancer research, or because 800,000 women will take part in the 5k run, It is silly because I am what doctors would call morbidly obese and have trouble getting to the top of the stairs without a break!However my recent trips to the gym and competitiveness with my sister Emily have promted us to set ourselves a target in which we may just possibly get a little fitter or a little lighter. The big day is on 17th June so I have a few months to prepare. This is my page if you want to check it out.I get the feeling I have let myself in for a serious eye opener as to how unfit I actually am, but on the bright side I shall be raising money whilst I do this and possibly help someone out there who needs it.

Lately I have been all busy busy busy. An inspection at the school meant lots of rules and regulations had to be learnt word perfect. An obsession with the gym has helped me drop 8lbs without having to diet (which is excellent) Massive amounts of the white stuff literally meant having to ski in the car to the school to get the kids and wheel spin all the way home (which was fun ) and half term this week means having two bored kids moping around the house like they dont own a single toy!!Last weekend was Ethans birthday and his party was at the local wetlands - which lived up to its name because it tipped down the entire time. In the end I couldnt have cared less if the ducks were hungry because it was blowing a gale and I was getting soaked. Ooo I just upgraded to the new blogger - isnt it much easier and quicker to add pictures - about bloody time I say.Devastatingly I shall be 31 on Sunday - How time flies when your having fun eh!?!

My god doesnt time fly when your your throwing up with stomach bugs? Yes I have slept more in the last week than in the last month and have lost half a stone as well (which you wont hear me moan about) Lets just say I wont be eating chicken curry again in a hurry!Ethan has become a social creature and has something planned for every night of the week which is also keeping me busy. I feel like I should get a "Mums taxi" bumper sticker for the car. You know your old and sad when your four year old has more of a social life in one week than you have had in years!!! I am just about recovering from Christ mas and decided to take Joanna with me on a quick browse around the sales. Lets just say this was a mistake. Not only did her shopping skills put me to shame, they also made her 19 and 21 year old Aunty's look inferior. I mean where does a 6 year old learn to colour coordinate and pick the right clothes for 'perfect pink' nail varnish?What did I get for Christmas? A gym membership from hubby - His polite way of saying perhaps you should lose a few pounds .... which I had fully intended to do so it actually will come in handy.I also had a poker set which resulted in a drunken poker night with £40 in 10p pieces flying around the table and ultimately made my sister alot richer and me alot poorer.Amoungst many gratefully recieved gift vouchers (which we asked for to finish kitting out the house) I recieved (as did my other sisters) a voucher for a make over photoshoot thing at this place from my mother. I am burried in wrapping paper and sticky tape. The house is a mess, the cupboards are filled to bursting point and everyone is home with no plans to go anywhere.I love the feeling when everyone is so excited waiting for Christmas to arrive. I have hardly been online at all so may I take the chance to wish you a happy Christmas, a drunken new years (if thats what you like) and a restful new years day. Someone must have nicked a month from me because suddenly its Christmas and I am sooo unprepared. I appreciate the shops put their decorations up about 8 weeks ago and so I have had some notice however I looked at the calender this morning and it's the 5th December already.So last night I did what needed to be done and spent a fortune on Ebay buying pressies and then spent an hour and a half writing Christmas cards to people I havent seen since last Christmas.Tonight I will probably start the soul destroying job of packing the children's presents. This usually starts with a glass of wine, a bar of chocolate and some nicely packed presents and ends with an empty bottle of wine, a half drunk Sarah and wrapping paper cellotaped to said toy in any way remotely possible.Daughter has been chosen to be an angel (one of about ten) in the school play and is consequently unbearable to live with as she gets to wear a pretty outfit in front of the whole school. Sooo this is it, Tommorrow is moving day. All hell has all ready broken loose. I have so much to do its unbelievable and there can never be enough hours in the day.The carpets go down tomorrow and my new dishwasher arrives on Monday, Gary is stressing so much I think his head will explode soon. The kids as always take it all in their stride and only wonder how the move will interfere with their social lives.The scariest part of all is not only will I not have sky TV for an entire week after moving in but I will have no phone line, and we all know what that means ....WTF am I going to do without the internet. I am burried in boxes with the assumption I will be moving this weekend, although our solicitor isn't spending an awful lot of time getting things done and is being extremely unhelpful generally. Grrrr I tell you if I ever see her out in town after a few drinks!!!!Meantime two inset days means I have the kids home again ... Yipee. And hubby is driving me nuts .... just dont ask!!!!We went and bought a plasma tv for the new house on Saturday - we spent a hideous amount of money on a tv that we will probably spend most of the time watching Scooby Doo on. Thats all I can think about is my new house at the moment. I eat, breathe and sleep whilst thinking about how we are going to move all our junk and where the sofa is going to go when we do.I havent quite got my priorities list sorted yet as I am currently more concerned about whether or not I will have broadband and Sky TV as compared to ... shall we say curtains and carpets.I am also amazed by the fact that up until recently I prided myself on not being a collector of random junk. Solicitors suck, estate agents are arrogant and highly impolite, And morgage providers are some of the biggest crooks in the world. Valuations are just one big massive rip off and part exchanging your house ..... well dont even get me started on that. I tell you what I had better come out of this whole buying and selling thing with a mighty fine house or I will be really pissed.In other news my sister has entered the world of living on beans and alcohol, being constantly skint and wearing dirty clothes - Thats right she has become a student.
