Have you packed yet?
2009-01-18 10:31:00 As you know last week I mentioned my work trip to Montreal and Vermont. This week it seemed like it may not happen as a number of things happened within the company which could have prevented me from going. The decision was taken late in the week and I am still jetting off to Montreal and then onto Vermont on Wednesday.I can't help but notice the weather reports in the USA at the moment as Vermont has been suffering temperatures of -28 (c).I have managed to get some extra layers together to help me beat the chill but I am sure I will only need this when I am between the office and the hotel. It has been an interesting exercise online though a I have been reading tweets from Burlington Twitters and it's interesting to see what people think of the climate. The weather for the UK is set to change to snow again but I doubt it will ever be anything on the scale they get in VT.It's going to be an odd week, an exciting week and a tiring week. I know I am going to miss my baby and Miss ...

2009-01-16 13:36:00 Tweets for the last 24 hours Lunch at Mustard in the City. Food was nice. Service terrible. 1 course each, 10 people took them >1hr to serve. Plus risotto = bangers/mash My review of Mustard Bar & Lounge in London on Qype: www.qype.co.uk/review/700775 Find out just how bad lunch was here: trunkguy.com/blog twitpic.com/1358b - When did I take this (and why?) Qype: Mustard London
2009-01-15 20:10:00 London - Pubs & Bars - Bars - Cocktail BarsOK I will try to be constructive but it's difficult. The good - My main of Steak and Ale pie was very tasty (very hot) and the portions were great. The gravy was thick and the pie had lots of flavour (and winter veg). The bad - 10 of us went to Mustard for a Thank You lunch. We booked in advance, attended at mid day on a Thursday and were the first to arrive. We didn't take long to order but were informed that as we were last to order (two other tables of two had since arrived), and there were so many of us (!) there would be a 20 minute wait for our meals (all one course). We decided to suck it and see... what a mistake!50 minutes later our food arrived, even our request for something to nibble were lazily greeted with a miniscule bread basket consisting of three rolls (for 10!).So the food eventually arrived and my colleague ordered Risotto (vegetarian). When the food was served they came out with Sausage and Mach - no one ordered i... More About: London
Too busy to think of a title?
2008-03-08 22:02:00 It's been an interesting day. We popped down to Brent Cross today as I wanted to get some things for my conference trip to Greece on Monday. I got myself some shirts and the odd pair of trews. I must confess to man handling a Mac Book Air but to be honest I prefer the Pro. I did get some new trainers too but that was during another shopping trip in St Albans. Our big purchase today was our new 32" LCD TV. Richard has been pestering me for one since Christmas and to be honest we got such a good set at an excellent price, it was too good an opportunity to miss. Think we'll have a quiet day tomorrow. I am staring down the eyes of a chaotic week... I need to pack etc (and we all know how long it takes a gay man to do that!). Not sure I am going to get a Trunk Cast together either, it's yet another things on the list. I'll see what I can do ...At least I can spend some time at the airport watching BBC iPlayer on my iPod Touch. Thanks to the fab beta and unrestricted access through ... More About: Title , Busy

What a day!
2008-03-04 19:04:00 What a day! I cannot believe the chaos caused this morning by First Crapital Disconnect! There was signal failure at Cricklewood which led to all the fast services being cancelled or disrupted. I get the slow serviced anyway as it guarantees me a seat. Of course by the time we were a couple of stations in some loud mouth took it on himself to stop other passengers getting on due to the train being crowded. Fair enough, gallant I guess but there was room for one or two extra people. What happened next defies logic... A passenger trying to get on the train does so only to be pushed off by the passenger om the train. He gets pulled off by the passenger outside a a fight breaks out on the platform - what a performance! I cannot believe people act like this in this day and age.It just proves that high ticket prices to put people off using trains at peak times does not work - especially when there are such network problems. The irony is two stops later most of the "fat train" crow...
Prince James?
2008-03-02 11:26:00 Isn't it odd that the more photos you see of Prince Harry and the older he gets, the more he looks like Diana's old lover, James Hewitt?

Blustry Day
2008-03-01 15:29:00 It's been a very blustery couple of days - we lost the bin last night (thankfully it was only as far as the end of the garden). I don't quite understand the weather at the moment, one minute it's really dry and mild the next it's freezing cold or raining heavily. It's very unseasonal for February (especially it's now March!).I published Trunk Cast 125 this morning and it's a particularly long show - I decided to include a full run down of my thoughts of the new Janet album Discipline. Be sure to have a listen as I have included the odd sneaky sound bite too. We're having a quiet weekend following our trip home last weekend. I am off to Greece Monday after next so I had the time to pop into town to look for a few bits to take with me - not sure I achieved anything though having only come back with some socks and a shirt! I must be getting too picky. That or the latest fashions are just hideous. You either look like an Emo, a goth or some middle aged sad surfing type - w...

Dad's 60th
2008-02-24 21:28:00 We just arrived back from a lovely weekend at home.It was nice to see mum in good form following her spell in hospital this week. She's not fully recovered and requires another operation but at least part one of two is out of the way.My Dad celebrated his 60th birthday and last night we went out for a lovely (and filling), meal. Dad invited Richard's mum and her husband. We had a really nice time - in fact (with all things like this) - it went far too quickly. This trip was an opportunity to see how the kittens are growing up, they are certainly acquiring their own characters and are quite a handful - they keep my parents entertained though ;)Hopefully next time we go home it will be for a longer stay. I am sure it'll be soon though as dad wants to book his Clay Pigeon Shooting experience which Richard and I gave him for his birthday.I took a fair mix of photos while home- have a browse through them here.
An English, Swedish and Italian Weekend
2008-02-17 17:00:00 We have had a fairly low key weekend - considering what we have been up to since the beginning of February I think this is just as well.Saturday was spent lounging about at home just taking time to relax and unwind - we have both been very busy at work and were at melting point. Yesterday was a great way to recharge our batteries.Today was more about getting my mind off events at home and just having a nice day together, doing simple things. To start off we headed up the M1 to Ikea iQueer where we made a few small purchases - not the most stress free way to spend a Sunday but a bit of retail therapy (no matter where), is always good.Afterwards we took a drive to the local Fiat dealership where we test drove on the the fab new Fiat 500's. For all of you who don't know the Fiat 500 is a design icon and a wonderful little town car, Fiat have taken the success of the Smart car and the re birth of the Mini to update the 500. As you can see from the photo, it's a small car but it is ... More About: English , Italian , Weekend , Swedish

Relax, don't do it...
2008-02-10 10:18:00 And we sure did - relax that is! We spent the day by the coast with a couple of friends. Richard and I picked up Paul before heading down to Hove in Sussex. The weather was very bright and sunny, more like a spring day than a typical February day.We cannot complain though as it made our day at the coast even better.Richard and I met up with Lisa and Paul met his friend Hillary and two of her children. The afternoon consisted of a relaxing meal in a fab gastro pub recommended by Lisa. Richard and I have long said it's nice to do things on Saturdays, it's a day that is usually wasted with house work and grocery shopping. To actually have such a relaxing Saturday is rare but very enjoyable. The beach was full of flotsam and jepson from a cargo ship that shed it's load of timber - this happened weeks ago but there is still lots of wood along the shore.I managed to capture some really interesting shots as the light was really crisp. We were very full from our lovely meal but this di... More articles from this author:2008-01-31 18:00:00 It's been nearly a week of feeling absolutely rotten and finally I am back out in amongst humanity.I have had a bought of Bronchitis which is not too dissimilar to the awful episode I suffered last October.I am still on a heavy course of anti biotics which is a bit if a nuisance as I have a weekend of celebrations coming up. I cannot complain though as they are making me feel much better.Tomorrow is my 34th birthday. I cannot believe it has come around so quickly. We are helping two close friend celebrate this weekend also. After nine years together they are getting married. As you can tell it is going to be a very eventful weekend. The weather has been particularly awful today. The majority of the UK was (and still is) battered by gale force winds and heavy rain. I took this shot late this afternoon from the roof at work - it's the only very brief pause in the weather.
