Weekend
2007-03-11 09:02:00
It's been a good weekend so far, apart from Brandy waking us each day at 6:30 for food! She can't help it, I know she's adjusting to not having Jerry around but I wish I could get back to sleep. It's currently 8:03 on Sunday and I have been making updates to the site since I fed her at 6:30!As well as Brandy's crying I have to cope with Monkey trying to steal my cuppa! We had a nice day yesterday as we met up with Stephen and Robin for lunch. It was great to catch up with them. The weather has been very kind to us this weekend and I hope it continues as we are out with friends later today.

Isn't it amazing what you can find in your family archives? I didn't know my family had such cool photographs :)Talking of archives I have dug out The Jewel Box for one evening - I'm getting my groove on to rare treats such as Welcome to the Rat Race and There's others here with us (I'd better check my Databank!):)

Little Dickies
2007-03-06 08:28:00
After the horrendous week the preceded it, last weekend ended up being quite nice.I must admit that neither Richard nor I really wanted to make the trek down to Devon but it was worth it. Of course we did the usual trips to see family etc but we had another reason for venturing south.A very good friend of mine, Helen, got married in Antigua a couple weeks ago and she had her wedding party this weekend at Crownhill Fort. It's a venue in Plymouth neither of us have been to before but it made for an interesting setting.I was very pleased to catch up with Helen and co. Especially as I hadn't seen the likes of Charlie for nearly ten years.Helen looked so very happy and glowing in her wedding dress. Possibly helped by a gorgeous post Caribbean tan.I on the other hand (as well as Richard) felt very uncomfortable in black tie. At least it was the rule so we didn't stand out! LOLI do think the visit home did us some good and it helped put our mind at rest about Brandy as the people ...

After suffering a stroke our proud little boy was taken away from us suddenly this afternoon. He was fit, he was well, he was Jerry .To say we are distraught would be an understatement.Rest in peace little man. Lots of love and hugs always, Daddy, Daddy and Brandy xxXxxHear all about our loss and the effect it is having on all of us in Trunk Cast 80 and watch this video footage of Jerry at his best.

On the road again
2007-02-25 09:15:00
It doesn't seem like five minutes ago that we were all at Thetford Forest enjoying the Pet Shop Boys concert and now they have announced new UK dates.I am not sure what, is anything, they are promoting but this set of dates seem to be at much smaller venues. After chatting to Stephen last night we're definitely going to try and get some tickets for one of the gigs in May.

I spotted a competition online to design some wallpaper with a preselected set of vector images. I have used some of these images and added my own photography from Berlin as well as other shots I have in my collection. The result is my entry (and a new wallpaper) titled "The Fall en Angel of Berlin".What do you think?Update: I created a few more illustrative wallpapers this afternoon (yes this afternoon). All of which are available to view on Flickr and use as desktop wallpaper.

After Hours
2007-02-23 21:00:00
It is not often that I socialise outside of work, especially not straight after work. Today was an exception.I went out with a few members of the conference team and we had a really pleasant evening. Not sure cocktails are my thing but I do like Pimms and Champagne :)I also got really good recognition from one of my 'managers' today which spread much further than expected as another global lead really like my work.Days like this are worth getting out of bed for, and it's not just the champagne talking!

NimBy's from hell
2007-02-20 19:01:00
What is a Nimby? It's someone who doesn't want something to happen locally to them - or Not in My Back Yard.It would seem the UK is full of Nimby's at present.People who don't want supermarkets (especially Tesco), but want cheap groceries.People who don't want rail freight yards in their vicinity - but want fewer cars on the road, less carbon dioxides from traffic and a better rail service.People who oppose airport expansion - but are happy to fly to their villa in the south of Spain as long as it only inconvieneces the Spanish locals and other people inthe UK outside of their regionPeople who don't want mobile phone masts within a ten mile radius of them but expect 100% coverage.Fuck off! We all cannot have what we want and we all want different things. Maybe people should stop being so damn selfish. Progress has to take many shapes and forms and although not all progress is good, surely the majority and not the few should have the final say?I like cheap groceries and I l...

First Crapital Disconnect
2007-02-20 08:38:00
I really don't understand my rail company.Yesterday morning all trains on platform one were moved due to technical issues.Last night my train made an emergency stop as a passing fast train caused a door to open and the emergency brakes kicked in. Thankfully we were already slowing on our approach to St Albans. This morning a guy with a megaphone announced announcements would be made on a megaphone due to technical issues with the tannoy and displays! Classic.:)

Culture and Booze
2007-02-18 09:47:00
We had a great day yesterday in London and ironically most of it was spent in the same area in which Richard and I work!As mentioned in this weeks Trunk Cast, Richard and I had booked tickets to see the Gilbert and George Exhibition at the Tate Modern. This really is a major exhibition and a huge body of work (both in volume and stature). As mentioned previously we have seen a number of collections in the past but nothing on this scale.I was amazed and delighted by the charcoal sculptures at the very beginning of this retrospective and very interested to see how Gilbert and Georges styles and stories progress through the years. They have been very prolific too as there was only one noticeable gap since 1972. They have managed a large body of work every year. Of course people criticise them and make comments and jokes about such works as Piss, Spunk, Tears and Shit, but you really have to see these works in their respective collections as the context and the story of each set comes ...

Bloody Vandals
2007-02-10 11:48:00
I cannot believe vandals have defaced Gaudis lizard sculpture at Parc Guell in Barcelona. This is such a magnificant place and an excellent statue - how could they? It is so mindless and pointless. I hope they get strung up for thier actions. Is nothing sacred in this world any more? Are youths really that bored?

PSP* (Pants, Sony Pants!)
2006-08-25 19:03:05
I have had my PSP for a couple of months but after the rush of playing games (the ones I got with it), I have gotten bored. I have not found as single game to hold my interest.Loco Roco was possibly the easiest game ever.Worms Open War-fare was annoying. Outrun 2006 was just silly. Lumines is fun for all of five minutes...Wipeout Pure makes you squint and therefore dizzy You get the
