Restaurant du Palais Royal
2007-06-26 16:47:00 In my soon to be finished novel, one scene takes place at the Restaurant du Pala is Royal . I would recommend everyone who considers himself/herself a foodie to go there. Make sure you reserve a table in advance, especially in the summer where the tables on the terrace overlooking the Palais Royal garden are hotly sought after. Just imagine yourself... Tour Guide
2007-06-24 13:37:00 I love Paris with all my heart and am more than willing to share this passion with others. Some people I know and some people I don’t know but who know someone who know someone I know must have known this fact. They visit and turn to me as their guide or ask me to be their friends’ guide. I?m famous!!
2007-06-21 01:24:00 Just ten minutes ago I received a message on myspace from a Japanese boy stating that he adored my style. Then he introduced himself and talked about a project on a blog/website focusing on trendy style and possible collaboration, etc, etc. Oh, the feverish energy of the youth! Besides, he posted my photo on his current blog… My god, without permission. Had he asked... Continue reading More About: Shopping , Famous
Shopping Mall Culture
2007-06-20 01:50:00 Being from Thailand, I grew up with a Shopping Mall Culture . Since very young age, most activities in city people’s lives in Thailand revolve around shopping malls. When the tropical sun is far too sultry, we seek the free and unconditional air-conditioned shopping malls. When we want to do a promenade, why let the sun burn your skin... Europe?s Eligible Bachelor
2007-06-17 15:34:00 After posting something about Taxis yesterday I really couldn’t resist posting this. I always support being an independent woman but sometimes it’s very very hard to be one. So in case you are tired of making your own way in the world of men, just marry one. And let me tell you that a mere millionaire is not nearly enough... 2007-06-16 13:59:00 Finding a cab in Paris can be a real pain in the arse… Yesterday alone I re-experienced this fact twice. After meeting my Hong Kong friend at the library, we went together to the American Church of Paris - don’t get me wrong it wasn’t for anything religious but to get some help from their Mission of Mercy… At the... Itchy Eyes
2007-06-16 13:20:00 I have adopted this book allergies a long time ago. My bimbo-self, though love glossy magazines like Vogue, Numero, Harper’s Bazaar, etc and chic-lit like Shopaholics, Bergdorf Blondes, etc, never allows me to go near a library. Whenever I got myself into one I got Itchy Eyes , Itchy Eyes… However, not this time. After having lunch at Le fumoir with my second... Continue reading More About: Culture
A Little Place of My Own
2007-06-14 16:04:00 Eventhough I’m not yet married and not really a woman, people here in Paris tend to address me at all occasion as “Madame“. The title lifts me from a girl (mademoiselle) to the position of a respectful lady of class and elegance and perhaps of a certain age and sophistication. It’s lonely up here. Cafe Marly: Shrek III?s Cameron Diaz
2007-06-13 21:42:00 I can’t repeat enough that Cafe Marly is a place to see and be seen as I mentioned about it several times already on my blog and in real life. For those who haven’t been to the place, please do so if you have a chance. It will be your great Paris experience. I admit that it’s a... Act of Desperation
2007-06-12 17:47:00 Last Thursday I had yet another job interview on a mission to secure my French Visa… This time it is to work as a junior PR executive for an Italian Brand producing luxurious bags and high-quality ready-to-wear garments for both Men and Women. The result would come out end of this week so if I got the job I would let you know what this brand is. Apart from preparing my bimbo-self to be ready for questions about past “work” experiences and educational backgrounds, I was most concerned about what to wear. Predictable isn’t it? It’s hard to be as gay as I am and have to go for 9 to 5 job interviews. You know I just want to go to the interview in my uber-chic dresses but my French classmate told me that suits and ties were de rigueur for such an occasion and for MEN and who am I to protest? Conformity has come to my dictionary as beggars can’t be choosers. The end is near and I must secure a job here… My French classmate also said that I coul... More About: Desperation
Monday Objet du Desir: Roger Vivier’s Belle Vivier
2007-06-11 23:48:00 There is no better time to wear flats than summer. And these classic Belle Vivi er flats from Roger Vivier will do nothing but flatter your feet to their full potential. I made a mistake of waiting for them to be on sale last season. They weren’t on sale… I was so disappointed that I ended up buying other things like a Chloe bag or a pair of Yves Saint Laurent shoes instead. This season is another story. I want them and I want them more than anything (apart from the Lanvin moccasins of course). I know they will look as good on me as they look good on the brand’s muse Ines de la Fressange. I want them now in every colour and every material. More About: Monday , Onda
Paris & Nicole: Haven’t we got enough of them yet?
2007-06-10 13:30:00 I am appalled by this month’s American Harper Bazaar’s cover, lowering itself into some sort of a cheap tabloid by putting these two on the cover… Paris Hilton and Nico l e Richie. Hadn’t we got enough of these two attention seekers yet? An endless list of scandal, of sex tapes, rehabs, and prisons. And there are people worshipping them, loving them, etc, etc. I’m no moralist but these two are just plain rubbish. I almost pitied her when I saw her crying on the way to prison. I hope she learns something from the jail. Seriously. Paris blog chic Luxury fashion lifestyle More About: Nicole , Haven
Paris Je t'Aime: 14e Arrondisement
2007-06-08 02:13:00 Exactly this day last month, I mentioned in this blog about this movie Paris Je t'Aime. This movie is divided into 18 short stories representing 18 districts of Paris (There were plans of 20 stories for 20 districts but 2 didn't fit in). Today I found this clip and I must tell you now that this... is the THIS MOST of them all.A pro-glamour person as I am, you might wonder why I choose this as my favourite. Just you watch, mes cheris, just you watch and you will understand how I become so touched by the story of this terribly un-chic middle-aged lady, the "typical" of the typical mediocre tourists that flood Paris everyday. There seems, at first, to be nothing admirable about this woman; thick accented French, no fashion sense, old and boring, silly and somewhat ignorant. The place she hangs out in Paris is the 14th arrondisement which is, for me, one of the most boring middle/lower class neighbourhoods-nothing to compare with other working class neighbourhoods which are much more v...

Sunday of Free Entry Episode II
2007-06-07 12:02:00 As usual, every first sunday of each month, you get free entry to the main museums of Paris; The Louvre, Centre Pompidou, and Musee d’Orsay. This month I took the opportunity to go to Musee d’Orsay after at least 6 months from the last time I went there. This place used to be a train station until it was turned into what it is today. The place is still as striking as ever, many many tourists and locals as it is free but the size of the place and the beauty of the art pieces there make massed humanity strangely bearable. I, however, arrived fashionably late at around 5 pm not knowing that the museum closes at 6. So after a little bit of Thomas COUTURE’s Romains de la Decadence (Romans during the decadence) , which is in the first hall, we were horded off… Thank god I’d seen most of the pieces there already otherwise I wouldn’t have forgiven myself. Next time I’ll be up with the birds. I promise. Paris blog chic Luxury fashion lifestyle More About: Episode , Free , Sunday , Entry

BHV Homme: The New Fashion Heaven for Men
2007-06-06 20:51:00 So long that men had been taught to be overly virile and rough and to see fashion as something deemed too sissifying for words. With much slower pace in development in terms of style and there are much fewer shops specialised in menswear, I am utterly delighted to at last see a whole department store devoted to Men's fashion. BHV or Bazaar de l'Hotel de Ville is an ancient department store best known for the DIY things for your house such as screws, hammer, knots, etc, etc and many things that you could hardly find elsewhere. Like other department stores, it also offers many other products such as cosmetics, garments, house decor, but with dubious identity because it's stuck in a state of limbo not being able to go luxe as it attracts the DIY crowds and can not afford to go right down to the rough side as it is too big to just focus on DIY things alone.Until recently, it has opened a new department occupying a whole new block and named it BHV Homme - BHV Men. Paris Vintage
2007-06-05 14:31:00 When I moved into my old apartment in the 1st arrondisement of Paris (Louvre, Chatelet, Palais Royal) late December 2006, I became neighbours to a divine vintage boutique on rue de la Grande Truanderie. The owner is this cute little lady named Dominique Cesselin and the boutique is called Iglaine. With an extensive list of garments and accessories there I made that place my ultimate destination for something unique. It's never one to disappoint, from chic designer pieces to remarkable non-brands. I would spend hours and hours trying on everything the boutique has offer with the company of Mme. Cesselin's 3 super cute sable italian greyhounds, Uriel, Venus and Alex.At the end I would leave the place with a weeping wallet and a joyful soul.Pictured above; An ancient Spanish Rabbit fur coat that rescued me from my first European winter, Robin blue patent leather pumps with their killer heels to match my killer legs from Yves Saint Laurent, Plum silk shirt with bow collar from Kenzo, an... Objet du Desir: Lanvin Homme
2007-06-04 20:24:00 For this minute, there is nothing more that I want than a pair of these turquoise mocassins from Lanvin Homme! I saw them in the fashion show. I saw them in Vogue. I saw them in the boutique on rue du Faubourg Saint Honore and I saw them on me! I tried them on and I was tempted to buy… Summer is here and there is no better time to wear them, to match with my turquoise sun glasses. I love Lanvin. I really do. Cite de la Musique
2007-06-04 16:50:00 Paris is a city full of “musicians”. Usually if you take the metro, you have thick chance of meeting them, mostly they come with accordians,or mouth organs. Sometimes, they play violins and guitars with vocals and without. It is also not unusual to see someone with a big speaker, or Asians with their traditional instruments. If you come to Paris with an image of a Romantic City, these people never disappoint. Prepare your ears to the familiar La Vie en Rose, Besame Mucho, etc, etc. I even heard America’s Star Spangled Banner once… These music are offered for free but do also feel free to donate. Such musicians, albeit their dubious talent, cheer me up whenever I feel down and lost. They make my journey much more cheerful and memorable as if I was in a movie with a sweet backdrop in each scenes. Pictured above is no beggars. The Blooms of Paris
2007-06-03 01:30:00 After a few weeks of cold breezes and rain, now the Sun is back in Paris again today and to welcome it back, I, with my SPF 50 sunblock, went out for a long stroll with my friends Warsha and Monique. We were greeted by thousands of blooms everywhere we walked… Well, of course… we walked from Warsha’s place through Ile de la Cite and then through the Pont Neuf which is an area where they sell flowers. Not bad for a Saturday morning to cheer me up a little from having to walk with too many tourists on the streets. After a little shopping along the crowded rue de Rivoli, we walked pass the Centre George Pompidou and were greeted by another big bloom, here… Paris blog chic Luxury fashion lifestyle More About: Bloom

Drama Queens
2007-06-01 23:23:00 Someone sent me this Youtube video and said that it reminds her of ME... I don't know whether to take it as a compliment or as a mockery for the feeling I have for this French "star" is very unique. I don't know whether I despise or adore her.She is so full of herself but at 50 something she's still very beautiful and glamourous in her own plastic way.Well, I heard that she lives in a 600 square metres apartment on boulevard Saint Germain with her philospher/ multi millionaire husband Bernard Henri Levy...
