walking dead
2008-05-05 18:45:00
My poor daughter is sick and I was up with her all night last night. I thought it was just a simple cold or possibly even allergies, but she wound up with a fever last night. I've been alternating Tylenol and Motrin throughout the night, but the fever keeps coming back strong. I feel like the walking dead today. My eyes are literally burning because I am so tired. I am popping Zicam like crazy and drinking vitamin water because I feel like I am coming down with it too. If I make it through this day without collapsing, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

color scheme
2008-05-04 21:31:00
Our upstairs master bedroom is in the process of being remodeled. My brother-in-law and husband have been up there for the past two days. I've already picked the color scheme - even though I know it will be a little while before we're ready to paint and decorate. We're doing two different shades of brown - Harvest Brown and Cozy Cottage; dark and light - and then we are going to trim with Shallow Sea - a lovely shade of blue-green. I think they compliment each other nicely and we will be able to accent it very easily. I can't wait to see it finished!

Dane Cook's penis
2008-05-03 22:36:00
I was looking at referring links into my site because I'm bored at work. I started to chuckle when I saw there was a recent Google search is Dane Cook circumcised. I know I've posted about Dane Cook and I've also posted about circumcision, but I definitely have not posted anything specifically about Dane Cook's penis. I love how Google throws it all together and lists me in the top ten results out of 49,500. I'm interested in knowing who is so curious about whether or not he's circumcised though! Does someone think they're getting lucky after one of his shows and is now doing research?

fabulous friday
2008-05-03 20:01:00
It turns out it wasn't as difficult as I thought with my kids away for the night. I had a fabulous evening last night. My husband made me a delicious dinner and then we watched Burn Notice and rented One Missed Call. We even had a few drinks. I got through my daughter's first night away from home. It should be smooth sailing from here.

business loan
2008-05-03 20:00:00
We are beginning to think that it would be a good idea for my husband to start his own business. That way he can work when I don't work and set his own hours. My schedule is not flexible, but he could make his fit into our lives if he was his own boss. He has been working with a few different family members off and on for several years in construction and home remodeling and has gained a lot of experience doing that. But starting a business is so much more then getting a license and getting your name out there. There is a lot of over head for a small business to be able to compete with larger companies. So we are looking in to a loan. One name keeps coming up as we research for the best Business Loan s and that is EZUnsecured. EZUnsecured.com has specialized in helping small business owners and entrepreneurs obtain the capital they need to succeed since 2002. They say that most small businesses fail because of cash flow challenges, which can easily be avoided by having the right b...
stupid people
2008-05-03 01:51:00
I hate stupid people. You know, it's not even the people who aren't educated that bother me so much as the people that just don't bother to use their brain to function. I just had a lady call me from a dealership to transfer her insurance from one car to another. Do you think she had any of the information needed? Hell no! Neptunebaby: I would be happy to assist you in transferring your insurance today. What is your policy number, ma'am? Dumb Ass Lady: I don't know. Neptunebaby: OK, well I will look that up for you by your name and address. Can I have that information, please? Dumb Ass Lady: Well, my last name is Ass and my first name, well.. the insurance is under my husband's name and that is Just As Dumb, I'm sure. Neptunebaby: Thank you. Can I have the VIN for the car that we are transferring the insurance to, please? Dumb Ass Lady: I don't have that. Neptunebaby: Well, I will need that in order to add the vehicle to your policy, Mrs. Dumb Ass. Dumb Ass...

separation anxiety
2008-05-02 18:10:00
My children are going to my mother-in-laws to spend the night tonight. I'm having major separation anxiety today! I'm not worried about my son. He's ten years old and has spent the night away from home more times than I could ever think of counting. My daughter, on the other hand, has never been away from home overnight. I know she'll be fine, but I still can't help but feel this heartache. It's going to be too strange walking in the door tonight after work and her not being there. I won't see her again until tomorrow evening when I get off work.

we actually did it
2008-05-02 18:09:00
We really did it! My husband and I picked out a grandfather clock for our house. When we moved in last August, I thought it would take us a whole lot longer to save for one, but it's been less than a year and we actually saved enough money to buy it. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. We got a fantastic deal on it too. Is there anyone else out there interested in getting a good deal on a grandfather clock? I've wanted a grandfather clock ever since I was a little girl. I was in love with my grandmother's clock, although hers was actually a mantel clock, but looked just like a grandfather clock - just a whole lot smaller.
ready to go
2008-05-02 18:03:00
After two days of gutting our upstairs bedroom, it's completely cleaned out and ready to be rebuilt. I took pictures from before and now and will continue to take pictures as it progresses. I will most definitely post them here when it's all said and done.

heat up, cool off
2008-04-29 18:53:00
I had a candle party a week ago at my house. It was a lot of fun, but with me cooking and all the candles burning it heated up pretty quick in my house. I really didn't want to turn my air conditioning on just yet because I'm not really fond of freezing cold air blowing all over me and my kids. I would much rather open all the window when I can and get some fresh air circulating through the house. Well, we did open all the windows that evening, but there wasn't much of a breeze outside so it didn't do much good. My mother said that I should get a ceiling fan for my kitchen/dining room area to help circulate the air in my house and therefore eliminating the need to use the air conditioning so much during the summer months. Ceiling fans are definitely the way to go, although I was afraid that it would take up too much room and make that part of the house look smaller. I do agree though that it would be nice to have one so I can just open up the house and get fresh air flowing th...

getting started
2008-04-28 19:00:00
As some of you know from reading my blog, my husband and I purchased a house last August. The upstairs bedroom (the house is a bungalow) was not really suitable for living. You could move the walls with your hands because it wasn't drywalled - it was an old cork board type of thing that they used to do those upstairs bedrooms in. It was also bright purple with purple paint all over the hardwood floor and the half wall that stops you from falling down the stairs moved like it was going to fall over with very little effort (a death trap). So, we've been sleeping elsewhere in the house for almost 9 months now. It really sucks not having our own bedroom yet. Well, my parents are home from Florida now and decided it was time to get this project started. We are getting the dumpster to go in our driveway at the end of this week and doing the destruction portion of it so we can start rebuilding. Woo hoo! I know that doesn't mean that we'll be sleeping in our bedroom any time soon, but ...
love the weekend
2008-04-26 17:39:00
I've been looking forward to today since I got to work on Monday. It's been nice just hanging out with the kids this morning and not hearing Gabby cry when I have to leave for work. I have to get in the shower in the next hour so that Evan and I can go pick up my sister and niece for the Webkinz Extravaganza at our local Hallmark store. They are both so excited about it. Then tonight we'll all gather at my house (husbands included) for pizza and drinks and fun times. Ah.. how I love the weekend!

get me out of here!
2008-04-26 01:44:00
This day has gone by so slow. I feel like I'm never going to get out of work. To top it all off, the customers over the last hour have been extremely annoying. I can't believe I still have an hour and fifteen minutes left. Do you have any idea how many remaining irritating customers I have the potential of talking to? Far too many. Oh, look.. here comes one now. Calgon.. take me away!
money back?
2008-04-26 00:48:00
I'm super bored at work and still have two hours to go. I've been surfing the internet like a mad woman trying to pass the time. I just read about a company in California that actually has a money back guarantee for fighting your traffic tickets for you. How crazy is that? It's unfortunate that we don't have that service here in Michigan because my husband could really use a service like that. He's had so many tickets over the years that I won't even put him on my insurance policy! I've been searching and searching, but can't find anything like that here in our state. So, hey.. if you're in California and need the same type of help my husband needs consider yourself lucky. Here is the info I found - How to Beat a Speeding Ticket in California. Do you think if I contacted them they would add a service here in Michigan? Yeah, I doubt it too.

Friday... woo hoo!
2008-04-25 17:58:00
The weekend if finally here! Thank the Lord. I'm hoping for a quick work day so I can start enjoying it. Who's got plans for this weekend? My sister and I are taking the kids to a Webkinz party at our local Hallmark-type store tomorrow afternoon and then in the evening she, my brother-in-law and my niece are coming over to hang out. Sunday I plan to do a whole lot of nothing. I have several recipes that I want to try out over the weekend too.

nap time
2008-04-24 22:43:00
We had a great team meeting and there was a ton of Mexican food. I ate quite a bit, but not so much that I felt overly full. I don't plan on eating again today though. That was my breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'll be drinking water the rest of the day. I am, however, extremely tired and in desperate need of a nap! I still have four hours left here at work though so that isn't going to happen. I would trade my left arm for a little snooze though.

thursdays are good
2008-04-24 18:56:00
I don't mind Thursdays at work because we always have a team meeting. That means an hour off the phone and away from my customers. That's always good. Today we are having a Mexican Theme lunch for our meeting. I made a Mexican Chicken Lasagna which is oh, so good and the best part... it's Weight Watchers. Here is the recipe: 3 Chicken breast Cooked and Cubed (I broil with Chipotle seasoning) 1 Can Black beans; drained 2 Cups Light sour cream 2 Cups Reduced fat Monterey Jack cheese 4 oz Green Chilies 2 tsp ground Cumin 1/2 tsp. pepper 5 Large tortillas cut into strips 1/2 Cup Salsa * Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray pan with Pam. Mix chicken, beans, sour cream, 1 cup of shredded cheese, chilies, cumin, salsa, and pepper. Mix well and arrange half of the tortillas overlapping in pan. Top with chicken mixture, then tortillas, then chicken again. Sprinkle with 1 Cup of cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. 6 WW points per serving

another card
2008-04-23 20:04:00
My husband and I have not always had the greatest credit. We did things in our past, when we were younger, prior to even knowing each other, that really hurt each of our credit reports. We have since fixed all of those problems over the years and now we get new credit card offers like there is no tomorrow. I am fairly certain that every day in the mail there is a new offer for one of us, if not both. As tempting as it is, I do not want to get in over my head again so I pay very close attention to all credit card reviews. It is so important to know what you are getting into when you sign up for things that have the potential of blemishing your credit report. I don't want to have any further dings on mine or my husbands. That is in the past and we intend to keep it there. I will never be careless with it again. I don't know what everyone else does when it comes to applying for new cards, but if anyone out there has questions about their credit cards or potential future cards, I wou...

work sucks
2008-04-23 20:01:00
I've been at work for two hours and have had nothing but problems since I got here. Every call has been a difficult one - people complaining about things they know nothing about, banks calling on behalf of our customer regarding a financial problem, and on and on and on. I'm so ready to go home already. To top it all off, they started sending people home early again. I won't be able to go because I work the latest shift. Blah. Work sucks. I can't wait until the weekend!

water.. the new way
2008-04-22 18:30:00
I have never been a fan of drinking water. The only water I consumed was what I used to make my coffee with. Well, I bought some Crystal Light (only 5 calories per serving) and now I am drinking a lot of water. I bought the on-the-go packets so I fill a bottle at work and pour one of those in and I'm good to go. I understand that Weight Watchers works much better if you drink a lot of water, so that is my motivation. Plus, I know that drinking water is good for me and I should be doing it anyway.

we love watches
2008-04-22 17:55:00
My husband and I both have a fetish for watches. I have about ten in my jewelry box that I need to get batteries for so I haven't worn them in a while, but whenever we go shopping for anything, if we see a watch store or department store that sells watches, we're there. My husband is in love with all the super expensive watches that we can't afford and probably never will be able to afford. I've been trying to figure out how I could possibly save for one that he likes for a special occasion, but I really don't see that happening. It would take me years to save for a watch like that. Maybe I will have to put a little bit of cash away for a long time and eventually get him one of the originals for our tenth anniversary or his 40th birthday (which is a long way off), but until then I am thinking I will get him one of the replica watches I've seen online. What do you think? I know it's not the same as owning an original, but maybe it will hold him over until I can afford the real...

the new bed
2008-04-21 23:22:00
We love our new bed! It's so nice having a King size bed instead of a Queen. There is so much room in that bed that both kids could crawl into bed with us and we'd hardly notice. It will be even nicer when our upstairs bedroom is done so we can sleep in our room instead of going to the basement to sleep.
In-laws
2008-04-21 03:02:00
My in-laws are wonderful people. My mother-in-law and I are great friends and I'm so happy about that. We had our rough patches in the past, but we've never been closer and I believe that we will continue to get closer as time goes on. My mother-in-law's friend is moving to another state so she had a moving sale. Jeremy's mom immediately contacted us and asked if we would be interested in her king size guest bed with mattress cover and memory foam top. Hell, yeah.. we are interested. We have a queen size and have always wanted to get a king. My in-laws went in half with us and it's now all set up and ready to be slept in. I'm looking forward to going to bed tonight!

saturday night
2008-04-20 17:12:00
I had a candle party yesterday evening. I had such a good time. I hope everyone else did too. I made a bunch of food and bought cream puffs for dessert. I ate way too much, but most of what I made was Weight Watchers so I don't think I went that far over my points. Besides, there are 35 bonus points to be had each week and I rarely use them so having a party was a good reason to do so. I weighed myself at my mom's house yesterday morning and I've lost 16 pounds total since I started; about 2 months ago now, I think. Not bad. Anyway, I did really good at my party. I ended up getting over $400 worth of Partylite stuff for only $59.00. I can't wait until it gets here! My mother-in-law booked a party from my party so I'll have $50 "fast cash" to spend at her party next month. Fun times.

new shades
2008-04-20 17:01:00
Well, we need to get new blinds for the living room and one of the bedrooms. My seventeen month old daughter has gotten her hands on three sets of blinds in our house and has broken them all. I don't know what the attraction is for her, but she can't seem to stay away from them. We have to raise them up so she can't reach them, but unfortunately we had forgotten about that several times. We currently have the inexpensive metal blinds, but I'm thinking if we get Roman shades she won't be able to break them and maybe she won't even be attracted to them anymore. I really like the idea of light filtering shades; something we need because it always seems so bright in this house, even in the middle of the night. I know they are kind of expensive, but it would be worth it if we don't have to keep replacing them and they are much more pleasing to the eye than cheap metal blinds. What do you think?
circumcised
2008-04-18 23:30:00
A reminder that adult words are often taken literally.... Circumcised A teacher noticed that a little boy at the back of the class was squirming around, scratching his crotch, and not paying attention. She went back to find out what was going on. He was quite embarrassed and whispered that he had just recently been circumcised and he was quite itchy. The teacher told him to go down to the principal's office. He was to telephone his mother and ask her what he should do about it. He did and returned to his class. Suddenly, there was a commotion at the back of the room. She went back to investigate only to find him sitting at his desk with his 'private part' hanging out. 'I thought I told you to call your mom!' she said. 'I did,' he said, 'And she told me that if I could stick it out till noon, she'd come and pick me up from school.
terrible two's
2008-04-18 21:31:00
Gabby has started with the "terrible two's" already and she's only 17 months old. She is such a spoiled little princess with the highest pitch to her scream. If she doesn't get exactly what she wants she throws a total fit and the whole house goes deaf. Could someone remind me why I wanted a little girl again? *grin* I'm kidding. She's the smartest, cutest little girl ever and I totally adore her - which is why she is such a spoiled little princess.
so happy it's friday
2008-04-18 20:56:00
I am so happy that Friday is finally here. Only six more hours (blah) until I'm out of work! No alarm will be scaring the crap out of me in the morning. I do have a lot to do tomorrow, but at least it will be at my house and at my own pace. I'm thinking about going to get a manicure and pedicure tomorrow. It's been a while since I've had someone else do my nails for me. It would be nice to have them looking their best with the warm weather now. I'll be wearing sandals very soon and I'd like to have some pretty toes to flaunt.
