2008-04-24 21:06:00
Well, I went ahead and did it. I made a contest. If you want to check it out and enter, you can go here. It’s not much, but it’s a nice prize. I forgot to mention a few places that you technically could get gift cards to, since I do have those stores ...

Um, Poker Anyone?
2008-04-20 03:42:00
I will never understand poker. It’s not that I haven’t tried, but I can’t get the hang of it. It just seems like that is one game I’ll never understand. Oh well. I can deal with it. I don’t have to play poker. So I guess it’s a good thing I’ve never ordered one of those poker tables, isn’t it? LaShawn can play Texas Hold ‘Em pretty well, but even though she’s tried to explain it to me, I just don’t ever seem to catch on. I guess I’ll just play something else. Housing Innovations
2008-04-20 03:01:00
More and more I am amazed by the innovations that are being made concerning housing. Just a few years ago, when my mom was still alive and not yet bed ridden, there weren’t nearly as many innovations for disabled people. When my mom passed away in 2005, the only places I knew of that had walk in tubs were nursing homes. The general public didn’t have that option. Now private citizens can have one and keep their independence while still taking baths by themselves. I’ve seen newer and better wheelchair ramps built onto houses, and I’ve even seen homes that have had previous ramps removed and look like the ramps were never there. I honestly wish a lot of those things had been around when my mom was still alive. Her quality of life once she’d become disabled would have been so much better. Music!
2008-04-19 10:52:00
I’ve been rediscovering some of my old favorite bands. I never realized that Poison was still recording songs, but I found a version of Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back” by them. And Motley Crue is coming back with a new CD AND a tour called Crue Fest with Sixx AM, Trapt, and a couple of other bands. It sounds awesome. I hope they come around here. Makes me think of my old t-shirts. I haven’t seen any of them in ages, except my Type O Negative shirt. That one I’ve still got. It’s the ONLY one of my band shirts I still have. As far as I know. I miss my band shirts. I used to have 3 Motley Crue shirts, a couple Def Leppard shirts, a Candlebox shirt, 2 Type O Negative shirts, you get the picture. Yeah, I was a band shirt junkie. I’d love to have some again, but can’t afford them. Maybe someday. This post was created by Charity @ Gothic Peach. Music !
Writer?s Strike?
2008-04-12 07:29:00
You know, the funniest thing about the writer’s strike was that I barely noticed it. The reason being, I don’t actually watch TV when it’s originally on. Most of the shows I watch, or like to watch, I’m catching syndicated re-runs of the shows on A&E or Spike or something like that. The ones I ...

Keep On Reading!
2008-04-12 04:37:00
If you haven’t figured it out by now, or by looking at Bloody-Kisses.org I am a reading fiend. I love to read and I have more books than any one person probably should have in the first place. Granted I don’t have enough to start a library or bookstore, but I have quite a few. ...

How Can I Not?
2008-04-07 03:05:00
I am a total music geek! I love music, I have over 300CDs and I say over 300 because I stopped counting at 300. I listen mostly to rock/metal/thrash/deathmetal/goth music, but I do tend to listen to anything that catches my fancy. So….. I found this contest to be awesome! Wanna enter? Well see below for details. Jenn at kitty.nu is giving away a $15 iTunes gift card! Participating in the contest is as easy as creating a blog entry that links to the contest. For more information, see the official contest blog entry: Win an iTunes gift card! This post was created by Charity @ Gothic Peach. How Can I Not?
Childhood Memories
2008-04-06 21:18:00
One of the things I love hearing about is LaShawn’s childhood memories. What she did when she was a kid. She loves to hear about my childhood as well. Why? Because we didn’t grow up together. Things like the fact that she played soccer, although she doesn’t have any soccer trophies to my knowledge, or the fact that I was a piano player since first grade. Then again, we’ve been friends for 20 years now, and frankly, you know you’re friends for 20 years when you throw up and your friend doesn’t even flinch at it any more. Gross example, but you get my drift. This post was created by Charity @ Gothic Peach. Childhood Memories

Honestly
2008-04-06 00:07:00
I have no problem with those who believe they may need a bit of medical assistance losing weight. I’ve thought about it more than once myself. Seriously. And hey, if it’s in the form of a pill then that’s fine. But I have a co-worker who started taking a recently released over-the-counter pill that WAS ...

Not really a meme?
2008-04-02 21:05:00
Well, it’s not really a meme, but I asked this question on my Bloody Kisses reviews blog, and though I did answer it there, I figured I’d also answer it here. If you could meet one author and have dinner with them, who would it be? Would you pick their brain about how they write their ...

SpringTime!
2008-04-02 20:32:00
Well, it’s definitely spring here. It snows but melts right away. The weather is warming up. And to top it all off, my best friend’s birthday has come and gone, and that always marks the beginning of spring. Oh yes, and the other day we had our first rumbles of thunder, meaning the thunderstorm season ...

Out of Here
2008-04-01 21:01:00
I am currently looking for a new place to live. Why? Because I’m probably going to be kicked out of my currently apartment anyways because people keep messing with my paychecks and my bank account, not giving me access when I get paid, etc, and I’m trying to pay rent with money I can’t access. ...

I Hate My Life
2008-03-31 21:12:00
Yes you read that right. I hate my life. My bank is refusing to acknowledge my direct deposit because my job sent it twice, so until the mistake is corrected, I can’t use my checking account at all. I have bills I have to pay TODAY and can’t. I can’t even get money for lunch ...

2.5 Upgrades
2008-03-30 23:52:00
Well, I upgraded Annie’s View and Annie’s Other Views to 2.5 for my friend Annie. I have this blog on 2.5RC3, because I’m not where the files to upgrade to 2.5 are right now. But I had some trouble with Annie’s View as the .htaccess file got messed up, and it wouldn’t let me use ...

A New House
2008-03-29 22:00:00
Not for me, but for my boss. She bought a house. I’m so happy for her, because she’s in a neighborhood that’s worse than mine. She won’t even walk her dogs there because it’s so bad, and she’s got BIG dogs! THAT is bad! I told her she needed to get some brand ...

Forgot the Kitchen!
2008-03-28 20:18:00
I apologize, I forgot to complain about my kitchen. LOL… Let me see here….. the stove works great, as long as you don’t want to use the oven! My cabinets have plenty of space for me as a single person, but I have NO counter space! I’d love some counter space! And don’t even get ...

Fix Me Please!
2008-03-28 20:14:00
My bathroom is SCREAMING to be fixed. I kid you not. The toilet likes to work on it’s own schedule, and frankly, the landlord has come and gotten it working only for it to start acting up again a few days later. I gave up on having him waste his time fixing it, because no ...

No. Do I care? No. I just discovered that my blog is NOT blocked by my proxy at work. So guess who’s having some fun? LOL I’m not supposed to be on here and if they catch me, I’m toast, but hey, I have no internet at home and they can kiss my ...

I Hate This
2008-03-25 19:35:00
I hate having to go to work early to use the computer so I can get my internet stuff done. But frankly, my rent is more important than my internet connection, so there you have that. I’ll deal with the crappy cyberlounge computers at work for a while. However, the one I’m on right now ...

The Family Tree
2008-03-23 06:08:00
I’m telling you, tracking down my family tree is already becoming a thorny issue. Why? Because I have to look up an obituary that isn’t from my town, and I can’t get it online anywhere. At least I can’t get it anywhere without paying a bundle for it! I could get a new faucet cheaper than I can a membership to any of the geneaolgy websites! I mean, seriously! They want over $150 for a YEAR at ancestry.com! I don’t think so! I can’t afford that and frankly I don’t want to have to spend a lot to get my family tree right now. It’s just not that important at the moment! Right now, getting my cable and internet back on, paying off my couch, and paying off my state tax bill are what’s important! Vacation Destinations
2008-03-23 05:03:00
My friends are thinking of taking a trip to Kansas to see some relatives of theirs. Now they normally stay at the relatives’ place, but this time they’ve been looking into maybe getting a condo hotel instead, just to splurge and see what they’d be like. To me, I’d think it would be just a fancier hotel room. LOL Maybe not. But I do know that I’d probably stay in one if I could afford it. Heck, the fact that I can’t even afford a vacation right now says a lot. But where my friends are thinking Kansas, I’m thinking Florida. Why? Because I get a lot of calls from the Tampa Bay area and they all tell me I should come visit sometime, that it’s absolutely awesome. And you know what? I might just do that. Maybe I’ll look for one of those vacation packages and take a trip that way sometime. This post was created by Charity @ Gothic Peach. Vacation Destinations
A Little Window Shopping
2008-03-23 04:59:00
I think I’m going to do a little “window shopping” and see if I can come up with a directbuy for a laptop that I can live with. I know I’ll probably get the laptop from the RTO company I got my couch from, but I can at least see what kind of deals I can get by comparing places I can buy the laptop. I could do it for the other furniture I need to get as well. After all, I still need a coffee table and end tables, some nice lamps, and a new bed. I could probably also do with a nice dining room set but since I don’t have a dining room, that will have to wait until I do. LOL But I do want to do some window shopping and see what brands of laptops the RTO place carries and what I can possibly get that I might like. This post was created by Charity @ Gothic Peach. Chi Town Walking
2008-03-22 02:37:00
I’m going to “date” myself here. Twenty years ago, when I was still an impressionable young person, I went with my then-church on a trip to Chicago to the temple there. We went to the aquarium, planetarium, and art museum, and even went to Sears Tower. The problem was we had to WALK to Sears ...

Ok, I have to say, although I love Olive Garden , I’m not fond of the way that the stuff I really like is always missing from the menu when I go there! They used to have this awesome ravioli that was meat filled and had a stripe of alfredo sauce, a stripe of pesto sauce, ...

Getting a REAL Education
2008-03-22 02:14:00
You know what always bothered me about my classes when I went to college? The complete and utter lack of actual skills being used. It was all book learning. There wasn’t any good hands-on training. For those of us who learn by doing, that tends to create a real problem. So I was bored earlier ...

Oysters? No thanks.
2008-03-18 20:38:00
I am not a seafood eater. My mom, however, loved it. Every year at Christmas she looked forward to my aunt’s oyster stew and chili feed. She was always raving about how great it was and how she couldn’t wait to get her hands on it. Too bad none of our restaurants around here served ...
