Guess who’s mom was at Kinko’s until after 10:30 last night? Guess who’s mom will never ever help her daughter again with a seven page project the night before it’s due? Especially when such daughter had a week or more to work on the project and forgot ! Guess who’s mom will need lots of caffeine today to get her through her work day? But guess who’s mom BETTER come home to a clean house and she damn well better come home to some real sucking up and thank you kisses from her daughter!

Still stuffy

Gerry and I are still all stuffy and feeling crabby. I was feeling better Friday evening and most of the day Saturday and then I got all stuffy again and it moved in to my ears so I feel like I am under water all of the time. It’s really pissing me off. I did still have a nice weekend and a nice Mother’s Day. I spent the day Saturday with Rebecca who is now crawling and getting in to everything. We had a nice day and sat out side for most of it. After she went home and Allison went to a friends house for the night I was able to talk my husband into a nice quiet dinner out, just the two of us. It was so nice! I had steak and crab cakes, it was wonderful! Of course my Mother’s Day was also very nice. It was the opposite of quiet for the most part there was even living room pillow fights in the afternoon which I did not win. I never win, both my husband and daughter are too vicious. High on meds

Gerry and I both have been sick with colds the past few days. Yesterday I was so sick I was back home in bed by 11:00am and slept until almost 2:00pm. I got up and soaked in a hot bath for a while. That seemed to really do me some good. I think I am finally feeling better today. Of course I am higher than a kite on cold meds right now but I really think I am better. I guess we?ll see when I come back down.

Weekend trips

Gerry and I love to get away for the weekend. With both girls and my mother in law in the house we have a real need to get away for some peace and quiet and a real need for privacy. There has been a few times when things were getting just a little too crazy and stressful around here and we didn?t even take the time to plan ahead. What worked great for us was planning a last minute trip to Florida online. It was wonderful and so relaxing. The best three day weekend ever! It had to be my favorite vacation yet. Allison?s class just finished reading The Spider Chronicles with their teacher and this evening they all made plans to meet at the dollar show to see it on the big screen. Allison was so worried she wouldn?t be able to make it because it started at 5:15 and most days I am home from work just about that time but lucky for her her dad was home in time to take her. I hope they are having a good time. It?s been a while since she has been out some where with just her dad. It makes me smile at the thought of them standing in line for popcorn and Allison introducing him to all of her little girl friends.

Booze before Brownies?

This has been a real shit day ! It started with the alarm going off an hour late because we forgot to set it last night and it hasn?t gotten any better. To make this day last even longer I have to take Allison to a Brownie meeting this evening from 6:30 to 7:30 and I have no way of getting out of it. Not when my daughter is this weeks troop speaker and has plans to talk all about her trip to Europe. I guess it would make me a pretty bad mom if I made her miss that because I am having a bad day. How bad of a mom would I be if I showed up at Brownies smelling of booze? Would that be any better? Nah, I guess I can suck it up and race home and get my self together, splash some water on my face and throw some jeans on before her meeting. She only has one more meeting after tonight and then the troop is done for the year.

Not a headache any more

Here in our office we just started to do a lot of heavy hauling between us here in Michigan and some areas in Canada and Mexico. For years we having been making heavy machine parts for mostly the automakers here in the US. Recently we have been doing some research into using a new freight company after using the same local company for over ten years. It would be nice to change over to a company that has more experience in out of the country trucking and heavy hauling. Not that the company we have been using doesn?t do a good job when we ship ?local? but when it comes to shipping to Mexico, it?s been one big headache. I think it is time to make a change. I think we need some one like LGI (Logistics Group International Mexico). A company that is established on both sides of the border.  LGI also provides ?door-to- door? service. This provides a worry free, single bill and that sounds great to me right now. It also includes customs brokerage fees. Sounds like a good change to me.

A full house tonight

Bethany and the baby are here for the night and so is my nephew. Making our house pretty full. We picked up a stack of movies, some thing for everyone and then this evening we ordered pizza for dinner. It?s been a great time. I love these kinds of weekends. I even bought Jiffy popcorn to pop on the stove burner. Remember those, the ones you shake? I thought they would be fun for the kids. Well, I was wrong. Allison was too scared to hold hers and I had to pull my nephew back from placing his face right above his about a dozen times. It took about ten minutes and we finally heard a little sizzling and then they just burned. It was the worst smell. Oh well. I had good intentions.  Lets hope my plan for homemade pan cakes goes better in the morning.

Bethany?s first Mothers Day

I really want to get my daughter Bethany some thing special for her first Mother?s Day. She is also just about to move in to her first house so I have been trying to come up with something that will not only be a nice gift but maybe some thing she can use. Over the weekend she gave me her very long wish list of things she needs and wants for the house. On it is a throw or blanket for the back of their couch. So, I am thinking instead of just any plain blanket or throw I should order her one of those really cute photo throws for Mother?s Day. We all know I have enough beautiful photos of Rebecca to chose from. In fact I think buying personalized photo throws as a gift is such a great idea that I am thinking of buying my mother one as well. Since I have been giving my husband hints that I would love a photo throw featuring both of my girls for at least three years now, I just might go ahead and order one for myself while I am at it.

I can not get over what a fantastic birthday I have had this year. I have never felt so lucky or so loved. Now as a gift from my husband I am doing some shopping online to help spruce up our living room. First on my list is new Window Blinds. We have a large picture window that faces the front of the house and I have always wanted to add vertical blinds to it, like these. They look so nice and can really add a great look to our living room. They will be the finishing touch after we paint. I am so excited !

What a nice weekend I just had. Friday night I had had my granddaughter over to play. She is so sweet and just a joy to spend time with. I think this (9mo) is my favorite age. Every time I have her over she is doing some thing new. Then Saturday afternoon my sister and I took the kids to Hallmark for the big Webkinz Extravaganza. Where they each played games and had fun and came home with a couple more Webkinz.  After that I went out for a little shopping and came home with a couple of tops for work and a couple more casual tops for summer. Thank you Sears, buy one get one free sale!  I really needed them. Then the three of us headed to my sisters house and enjoyed a night of pizza, drinks and geeky play. I work with one other woman and about a dozen men. Most days I don?t mind it or even see most of them men because they run machines out in our shop. So unless they get a phone call or I have a question for one of them it?s like a two person office in here with us ladies. Not today! While I was busier then heck all day, most of the men were in here huddled around our extra computer talking about their nfl picks. They were like little boys! Even getting so excited at times I had to ask them to keep it down before I could answer the phone. Sounded like they had a good time but I am telling you, some of those men can be real serious about their nfl picks.

I have been really cutting back on my food portions and trying to eat a lot healthier. I am also increasing my amount of exercise and I am already seeing results. I have been feeling pretty good about it. Until this afternoon. I feel like I am starving. To make it even worse my boss and a few of the guys are in the office right now eating McDonald?s. I just opened our escrow statement for the year and I can?t believe it our house payment finally went down some. Down to $1268.00 a month! After paying $1500.00 for the past year to cover a mistake in the escrow, this is great news. All the more reason to enjoy a few drinks tonight! Whoo hoo !

I was up way too late watching TV shows off of my DVR last night. I think I fell asleep some where around 2:00am. Then my sweet little granddaughter Rebecca woke me up at 6:00am ! It?s so not like her to wake up that early. She is a real sleeper and usually sleeps in at least till 8 or 9:00am. That is why SHE is back to sleep already and I am sitting here with Allison sipping my Diet Coke and pushing myself in to the shower. I have to drive Rebecca home by noon and then this afternoon Allison and I have plans with my sister and nephew to check out a Webkinz Extravaganza party at our local Hallmark shop. I swear these Webkinz are like crack! Allison is so excited she is beside her self with anticipation.
