More Movie watching
2008-03-26 00:00:00 I surprised my husband over the weekend with a pizza and beer night, complete with a couple of manly movie rentals. I picked up 30 Days of Night and Chaos. Chaos was nothing I thought it was. Even though we both enjoyed it, I expected high action and more things being blown up. Still, not really a bad movie. It had a few good twists and turns in the story and Jason Statham and Ryan Phillippe were both worth the time. Now, 30 Days of Night is another story. It was pretty good. Better then I expected. Lots of action and suspense, blood and gore. Some scenes were gross enough for me to hide my face but I still thought the movie was a lot of fun. More About: Movie , Watching

Wild snowy morning
2008-03-22 00:00:00 I was up early this morning cleaning the kitchen and doing laundry. Ya, I am wild like that on a three day weekend. I am not much of sleeper so just not leaving the house at the butt crack of dawn is a treat to me. At noon today I have a hair appointment for a cut and color. Don?t think I am making any changes this time just a trim. Again, I am that wild! But first, I?ll be digging out my car from all the yucky snow we got last night, three to five inches. I am so over winter! Does Mother Nature not know it is now spring? WTF? More About: Wild , Morning
Shopping fun
2008-03-21 00:00:00 Allison and I had a great time shopping this morning and found some awesome deals. We left Sears with a huge bag full of 40 & 50% off finds for her. I can?t believe how much stuff we bought for around $200.00. We came home with six short sleeve shirts (1 Bobby Jack, 1 Hannah Montana), two long sleeve shirts, three pairs of pants, one Bobby Jack long top with matching leggins, one pair of shoes, a really cute three piece pajama set, two hair clips, and a bunch of under clothes and socks. Yay us ! It?s so much fun to shop for her. I swear I had more fun then she did. Oh and one new find for me! Check out these cool slippers I found on the clearance table for only $4.99 ! I am wearing them already and love them. They are so soft. More About: Shopping
Should be a fun day
2008-03-21 00:00:00 I am really looking forward to my long weekend. It?s been a heck of a week. Bethany and the baby are going back home tonight after staying with us the past three weeks. Not that I mind having them because I would much rather have them be with us then with her jackass boyfriend but seven is a lot of people to have in our small house even when things are going well. Also, I worry that Allison is feeling a little lost in the shuffle some days. So, tomorrow Allison and I are planning a day just the two of us. Starting with a morning shopping trip with her list of things she needs for her London trip. I can?t believe it?s less then three weeks away! Then I think we?ll get lunch some where, her pick then maybe swing by the video store before we head home to hang out. Should be a fun day. Better then sitting behind my desk in the office.
They Appreciate us !
2008-03-19 00:00:00 Around this time every year our office gives out a few Business Promotional Items to each employee with our company name and logo on them as gifts. I have always felt that doing that is such a fun and easy marketing tool. I great way to get and keep your name out there. In fact, I still use items that my dad has brought home with his company name and logo printed on them over twenty years ago. It?s also a great way of letting employees know they are appreciated. I mean who doesn?t like a free gift right? The best in my opinion is giving out some thing that is not only fun but can be useful as well, like custom imprinted pens, bags, cups, promotional calendars, mouse pads, caps or hats. At Gimmees.com you can find all of these popular promotional products and thousands more at exceptional prices. Gimmees.com offers great customer service and purchasing process on line and in real-time to make your ordering experience as easy as possible. Gimmees.com is your one-stop shop for adverti...
Dark & Gloomy
2008-03-19 00:00:00 It is such a dark and gloomy day around here that all I can think about is going home and taking a nap. Things have even been extra quiet around the office today. So quiet that if I was alone I swear I would be asleep at my desk by now. At least I have a short week to look forward to. I have Friday off. More About: Dark
Quick movie reviews X 5
2008-03-17 00:00:00 We have been a little movie crazy at our house lately. Here are my quick thoughts of what we have rented so far. Things We Lost in The Fire, LOVED it! Was there really any doubt? I am not a big Holly Berry fan but I thought she did a good job in this film. Of course Benicio is fantastic as always. Rendition, Not too bad. Gerry and I liked it. I was glad not to have seen it in the theater but it was worth renting. In the Valley of Elah, Another good film worth renting but I was glad not to have spent the money in the theater. Very well acted and done. Just a little long in spots. No Country for Old Men, Oh my gosh ! Such a good movie! Very disturbing yet so well made. Worth every award it has won. This one I wish I would have seen in the theater. I know a lot of people didn?t care for the ending but I thought it was brilliant. I am thinking of picking up the book to read next. I am Legend, How did I not know what this was about? I was so misinformed! I jumped a few ti... More About: Movie , Reviews , Movie Reviews , Quick

2008-03-17 00:00:00 Gerry, Allison and I tossed our stuff in a bag and spent the weekend visiting some out of town friends of ours. We left Saturday morning and was back home just about bedtime last night. We had a great time but it sure goes by fast. Sitting here in my office this morning, I feel as if I never even left. Beating the blahs
2008-03-15 00:00:00 Well my mood is much better today then it was yesterday. The sun is out again today and I feel the warmness of spring being just around the corner. I am really trying to focus on that and what warm weather brings, like trips to the park with the girls and back yard BBQ?s. I am also alone in the office today with very little work to do so I can spend some quiet time catching up on my blog reads and maybe do a little posting here. I have been using some great new products around the house lately that I want to tell everyone about. More About: Beating

Not so snowed in
2008-03-09 00:00:00 Our ?snowed in? weekend has been reduced to a ?snowed in? day, tomorrow. That?s fine, we didn?t get any of the snow they said we were going to get anyway. We ended up having Rebecca (our granddaughter) over night last night. I plan to deliver her back to her mother by 1:00 this afternoon. Allison came home yesterday with a list of craft supplies that need to be bought and taken to school on Monday. Gerry?s mom needs a ride to the bank and store this morning. Then Gerry plans to work on taxes late this afternoon. So, my plan is to have all the running around done, the house clean, the laundry done and be back in my pj?s by dinner time tonight and I am not getting dressed until I have to leave the house Monday morning. The perfect weekend. Lazy but not too lazy.
More snow on the way
2008-03-09 00:00:00 Yesterday I had to dig my car out of ten inches of snow to get to work now the weatherman says we are getting at least eight more inches tomorrow afternoon with no signs of it slowing down until Sunday evening. Sounds like I need to make a store run tonight for anything we might need or want over the weekend. To be honest I really don?t mind the thought of being snowed in over the weekend. It?s the perfect excuse to stay in our pj?s, watch movies and hang out on the computers. I can deal with that for two days ! More About: Snow

Beautiful Morning
2008-03-09 00:00:00 Thanks to my wonderful sister and brother in law who took my daughter and granddaughter home with them for the night last night my house is so quiet this morning. I am sitting here in my dinning room eating breakfast (pita chips & alouette cheese) and blog surfing in peace. I was even up and in the shower early so I would have time to enjoy this. I have the curtains and blinds open and the winter sun is filling each room. It?s a beautiful morning. Thanks Sis ! I feel like it?s birthday or some thing. More About: Beautiful , Morning
The Candle Party
2008-03-03 00:00:00 Yeah, I think it was a damn good party. Everyone seemed to have a good time. Of course, with a house full of women, good food, a case of beer and a bunch of booze how could it not be a good time? We talked and laughed for hours. I feel so lucky to have such a great group of women to call family and friends. I also made enough in sales to get the item I was after and then some for free. I love free ! Now I am off to clean up the kitchen, who?s helping? More About: Party , Candle
Come on caffeine !
2008-03-03 00:00:00 I had a hard time sleeping last night. It?s sure makes for a crappy Monday. I have been in the office for only twenty minutes and already all I can think about is going home. I can not stop yawning. If the caffeine in my Diet Coke doesn?t kick in soon, my head is going to fall forward and smack the desk. Maybe that will wake me up? Or knock me out and I might finally get some sleep? Not sure I want to know. Come on caffeine !

Last night on Ice
2008-03-01 00:00:00 Well, last night went much better than I expected it to. The drive wasn?t all that bad and neither were our seats. Allison was a little freaked out as we climbed the stairs up but once we were seated she was fine. The show was very well done and super energetic. There was singing and screaming little girls with their moms every where. It was a good time! More About: Night
HSM on Ice tonight
More articles from this author:2008-03-01 00:00:00 Allison and I along with her Brownie troop are going to see High School Musical on Ice this evening. She is super excited and has been listening to the soundtrack almost daily. Myself, I am not really looking forward to it. Our weather is crappy, it?s been snowing all morning and the weatherman says we have a lot more of it to come during the day. On a good day, the drive to The Palace where we have to drive to is an hour away. Not only that but I just checked out the seating chart and our seats are in the back of the very highest section of the place and let me tell you, it?s a big place. I sure hope they have the big screens turned on so our girls can at least see some thing. Its just not adding up to a good time to me. Maybe we?ll get there and the girls will just be happy to be there and sing along to the music. I hope! More About: Tonight 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
