2008-02-28 00:00:00 It?s time to put new tabs on both my car and Gerry?s truck. When it comes to this, I am a total jinx ! I am not kidding. It started three years ago when I lost my tab some where between picking it up and the next morning when I went to stick it on. Then the next time I stuck the tab on the wrong side of my plate. This time last year Gerry was working a lot of hours so I thought I would help him out and I stuck his tab on my car. The night before last he came home and handed me my new tab and said here you go. I laughed and asked him does he not remember the last three year? That?s his job for now on. As simple as it is, he?ll have to go outside and stick on my car. I can handle a lot of so called ?men?s work? around the house, I?ll take out the trash, I?ll even mow the lawn if it needs it but when it comes to those stupid tabs, I am leaving it up to him for now on. In fact I found everything about the movie to be very well made but it felt way too long and just a lot of the same old gangster stuff we have already seen so many times. Only in Harlem. This coming from me, a huge gangster film fan. I am surprised, I expected to love this movie but I didn?t. Maybe it was mood but I was bored out of my mind. What a trip! We both really liked it a lot. I love it when I stumble onto a great sleeper film that didn?t get enough attention when it was released. It?s a nice surprise and I feel like I have to tell everyone about it. I thought the story was a lot of fun, well as much fun as a movie about war and hunting for a powerful war lord an be. 2008-02-18 00:00:00 Gerry and I have been up late watching movies the last couple of nights. Not even starting them until 10:00pm. It?s been kinda fun being up so late on the couch together sharing a blanket and some snacks while every one else in the house is asleep. Even the hound. We watched We Own The Night , which we both thought was pretty good. I good story movie with a great cast. Phoenix and Wahlberg were both equally good. I have never been a fan of Eva Mendes in fact she kind of gets on my nerves when I see her in movies but this role seemed to suit her. Last night we watched Gone Baby Gone. One damn good movie! Another good story movie with an outstanding cast. I felt the entire movie was very well made. I kind of knew what it was about, but not really. Sad and disturbing, it?s not a movie for everybody. There is a scene about three quarters of the way in to the movie that I knew as soon as it passed I was going to have a hard time shaking it. Even thou it?s not real graphic like other m... I was maybe 2 and a Half years old and had just recovered from an accident in Which my arm had been broken among other injuries. I am now a little worried there might be some thing else going on other then a kidney infection. I hate to over think it like that so I am giving the antibiotic more time to work before I spend the money of going back to the doctor. 2008-02-10 00:00:00 While taking it easy this weekend I have already watched a bunch of movies and shows. Some rented, some on T.V and some DVDs we own. Rented - The Jane Austen Book Club, I really liked it. A great cast and good chick flick. Feast of Love, I didn?t love this movie as I thought I was going to. I did love the cast and it was interesting enough to keep me watching until the end. I adore Morgan Freeman more with every movie I see him in. The Brave One, Saw this one at the movies and really liked it. It?s a very moving and heartbreaking story. Even though Jody Foster is not one of my favorite actors, Terrence Howard is. On T.V. - I watched a few episodes of Scrubs and One Tree Hill. DVDs I?ve pulled out to try and keep myself in bed, Practical Magic, One of my very favorite movies that I own. Steaks for dinner
2008-02-10 00:00:00 Yep you read that title right. We had steaks for dinner this evening. We had them the only way I will serve them at home too. Oh yeah, I am talking off of the grill. Just how did you do that in the mist of winter and with three inches of snow on the ground, you are asking? It may be bitter cold out side tonight but my husband was smart enough to get out his construction heater and warm up the garage to be able to stand outside near his Webber and grill us up a few delicious steaks. They were awesome by the way! Buying that construction heater was such a good idea. He picked it up when he shopped around for our basement heater. Now that our basement is being furnished we are ready to upgrade. I am thinking of some thing much bigger, and a lot nicer then what we have, maybe like a firebox or fire place, there are so many great vent free haeters to chose from now. I thought that the pain I have been having in my lower back all week was my endometriosis acting up but as it turns out, nope, it is a kidney infection. So it?s been there a while. Bad enough that the doctor wanted to put in the hospital this morning unless I promised 24 hours of bed rest and to take my pills. So of course I promised. 2008-02-09 00:00:00 Allison brought home her report card the other day. As always she did great academically. I am so proud of her and how good her grades are. We would be doing some thing special to celebrate over the weekend if it wasn?t for the letter that came home with her report card this time. The letter was from her gym teacher. Not only did she again get a lower grade in gym of all classes but my daughters behavior has been so bad that the teacher took the time to send us a separate letter in detail. Details that included such phrases as, interrupts the class, interrupts the teach, does not follow direction, needs to keep her hands and feet to her self, needs to learn to stand or sit still in line and of course does not work well with others. You get the picture. How does one manage to struggle with this many issues in gym class? You go, you do what you are told, throw some balls, run around and line up. It?s third grade!
