What Were You Expecting
I'm just a girl. Sometimes I'm mad. Sad. Angry. Happy. Amused. Funny. Sarcastic. But I'm very rarely What You Were Expecting.

Wedding Stuff - It's Official
2007-09-19 20:00:00
MM and I spent the weekend in Laughlin, NV. If you remember, we were talking about doing a riverboat wedding there in March, rather than a Country Club wedding here in October. After seeing the riverboat and accommodations, it's official, we're getting married March 8, 2008 in Laughlin. We're both pretty excited over this. The boat can hold up to 119 people, so really we won't have to cut our guest list short. That's a plus for us. We were both concerned we might not be able to invite all our friends and family. We've chartered the boat for 3 hours, so after the ceremony (which will last just over 20 minutes) we'll have a cocktail hour on board. Appetizers will be available, along with a champagne toast and a deejay so we can have our first dance, etc. Afterwards we're going to have dinner on the patio at Joe's Crab Shack. MM and I both love their food, and it goes in line with our more casual theme, I think.I'm very excited about this. I honestly don't think a Co...

Sometimes Reality is Way Better Than Fiction
2007-09-14 20:30:00
I had a right shit morning.I got out of the shower and started getting dress. I'm in the middle of putting my bra on and the door starts creeping open. I yell, "Hey!" and Little Man says, "Oh, sorry. But mom, The Girl needs fingernail polish remover!" WTF? I said, "Why?" And right then the smell hit me. He said, "The fingernail polish bottle exploded!" in a slightly awed, slightly fearful tone of voice.Oh.Hell.No.I throw on my robe and rush into The Girl's (Hmm, or should I say "Belle") room. She's standing in the middle of her room with her hands held out before her, butt ass naked. I glance at her hands and...I was speechless. They were covered, from the tips of her fingers to her wrists, with blue fingernail polish. Blue sparkle fingernail polish. I said, "What happened??" and she said, "I don't know. The bottle started leaking so I poured it in this cup." and she points to a large plastic coke cup on her dresser. It's filled with fingernail polish and on the dre...

Nose Picker!

I've been threatening for some time now to hijack MM's blog. He's an even more lazy blogger than I am, but some funny shit happens to him at work (which is why he started the blog to begin with) that I feel the world needs to know about.Besides, his job is high stress and dangerous...comic relief is always in order, no?But alas, I've been busy with my real life (I know, amazing that I have one, isn't it? A real life, I mean) and haven't had time to update here or at Book Binge. I've tried. I have numerous drafts saved of books and movies I want to review and various things that have happened lately that amused me. Like the Perfume Wars MM and I have engaged in lately and The Girl's refusal to change her name back to The Girl. Stuff like that. My biggest issue is...DW is still off work. She's hoping to be back October 1st, but hasn't received an OK from her doc yet, so I don't know. As we do the same job (and are the only two in the company that can do said job) I...

Moderation is Key
2007-09-06 21:00:00
Lately, my new obsession is a show on TLC called, Honey, We're Killing the Kids. When I first saw the previews for this show, I was baffled. I mean, I guess I hadn't realized how lazy some people are.Basically, for those of you who haven't seen it, HWKTK is a reality show where a nutritionist goes into the homes of people with seriously overweight or out of shape kids and then gives them a three week regimen to help them turn their lives around. But, well, from where I'm sitting anyway, it's all common sense stuff. The key to any healthy lifestyle is moderation. My kids are very healthy. Their hair and nails grow at a rapid pace, their color is good, they're not overweight. I balance their diet so they always get what nutrients they need, but I don't go overboard...not in either direction. One of my former co-workers is a complete health nut. He eats only healthy, high-protein food, works out every morning for an hour and is very rigid with his kids and their diets. I mad...
