Term vs Whole Life Insurance
2008-03-01 20:41:00 The main difference between term insurance and whole life insurance is that term is like renting your house (the price goes up and you build no equity) and buying your house (locked in to a rate IF you are not on fluctuating interest, and you build value). Term has its purpose, it's cheaper so you can buy bigger policies to pay off your home, send the kids to school, etc if you die before these things are accomplished. Whole life has it's place also. Smaller amounts that you know the price will not go up and you will still need the coverage at retirement for death benefit or to tap into that value that has built up.
