I do love books.  Buy.com has a great selection that I check out for the newer stuff.  Nora Roberts is one of my all time favorites.  I kind of grew up with her reading her books back in the 80's and now she has the new trilogy of The Hollow which I am on the second book.  The third has yet to come out.  I just could not wait this time.   But usually I buy the whole trilogy at once because not only is it cheaper, but I got these three great books that I can read back to back and stay in the story.

With gas prices and food prices on the rise, we all have to cut corners where ever we can.  One place you should not cut corners on is health insurance or any other insurance.  With costs up all around, you can not afford to pay for those big expenses if they come up.  If we are having a hard time paying for gas, etc, what do you think would happen with a huge medical bill?  Save money if you can by getting quotes and comparing coverage, but do not go without.  Just my thoughts.

How Much RAM Do The Kids Take Up

I'm trying to figure out how much ram (Random Access Memory) on our computers the kids actually take up.  I mean, my son downloads games of all kinds, my space, pictures, videos, etc.  Especially his skateboarding videos of himself and his friends.   And then there is my camera bug niece who takes pictures of herself and everyone else.   She even takes pictures of signs when she goes on vacation!  All gets downloaded/uploaded to our computer, deleted, and then more added.  My son claims that once you delete them and then clean out the recycle bin that it no longer affects your computers random access memory (ram).  Does anyone know how to check this?  There is a site called 4 All Memory that will let you add ram to any computer.  Maybe this would be an idea for me as I have the kids working and playing on the computer as well as me.

Who the heck came up with that line anyway?  Surely it was not a woman.  Just some phase to lead us desperate ladies to believe that a pad is going to make us happy during this one time each month that we do not enjoy being a woman.  Maybe some progesterone or a stiff drink would do the trick.  LOL  I just seem to get into a tangent where my temper gets short and my feelings are exposed and I can't for the life of me figure what is wrong with me.  Then boom, here it comes.  This has been going on for some years now.  You'd think I'd know.

Treadmill VS Walking

I recently started walking 30 minutes a day.  I used to think that a treadmill would be better for me and it is for some.  The convenience of having it right there to jump on and watch tv any time you feel like it makes it a great idea for those of us that procrastinate like me.  But for me, when I walk 15 minutes I have to walk the other 15 minutes back so I have no choice.  Whereas with a treadmill, I'd probably just get off.   LOL

Summer, summer.  What a great time for some patio furniture!  I'd love to have some in between the condos in the back for us to have for entertaining or just for me to hang out in.  Our  homes are so close together  that it makes it hard for privacy, like laying out in our bikinis.  Me and my neighbor sometimes get out there with the van and SUV parked so that no one can see us unless they really try!

Looking for the next summer vacation?  Try checking out Sea Pines rentals.  Just looking for where to go is sometimes a chore and you need to not only consider the cost of the motel, but now you really have to look at what it will cost you to get there, like gas and airfare and food.  Man has food gone up.  At first I didn't notice it so much.  You know a dime here and a quarter there.  But just look at the value menus that used to be $1.  They are now $1.50 and $1.75.

Finding Maternity Clothes

It's been almost 17 years since I needed maternity clothes and I really don't remember how I found mine.  I think I got a lot of hand me downs, but I do remember that it seemed I never had anything to wear.  My good friend is now going through that same thing.  I guess it's had to make maternity clothes when every woman grows differently with her pregnancy.  The best thing is to go ahead and buy new from a reputable website unless you can find something in your home town that actually caters to women of all sizes.

The Closest Thing To A Chip In His Head

I got a lot of emails about the idea of putting a chip in my son's head to keep track of him.  I'm not the only parent that wishes we had that technology!  I think my son sometimes wonders if that chip actually exists and I'm not going to tell him otherwise.    At least there is something I AM considering that is the closest thing to it which is gps tracking which allows you to at least know where their car is and if they are using their seatbelt and how fast they are driving.  Hmmm...now that I want to know more about.  I always thought I'd have more time for this, but guess what?  They turn 16 before you can blink.

The summer is coming, or it's here actually if you live in the south.  Wow, what a beautiful weekend!  We are planning my son's birthday to be down in Florida for  a day trip.  I would love to find some cheap hotels, for everyone, but that is what it would be.  Hotels in the plural.  We are planning for about 30 people and I don't think even cheap can help with 30 people on my budget.  Haha.

I'm thinking of doing a series of places to get free insurance quotes.  That's why I added this category and then neglected it doing other things.  Now with the price of gas..ugh...I am really trying to find more ways to make money and save it.  You know the old saying "A dollar saved is a dollar earned"Anyway one thing to look at is car insurance.  Just see if you can save money or if you are paying more with the the company you are with.  All insurance companies are regulated by each state they do business in.  Some are better with service, etc.  But do you have the extra money to put out every month?  I'll try to start reviewing places to check out soon.

How To Hide All Those Cables?

My computer has been upstairs in my bedroom since the flood of 2007 (when the upstairs bathroom exploded).  I left it up there even after the repairs were done because it seemed more comfy and the computer desk downstairs just took up too much room.  I suggested moving it back down because my son is on the computer a lot and I want us to spend more time together even if he's on the computer and I'm reading a book or writing an article.  At least we'd be in the same room.  Today my son came in and agreed with me that he'd rather have it down here, too.  We brought the other computer desk in, but it does not hide the HDMI cable and other cords as well as the bigger one.  Anyone have any suggestions?Oh, and I was so pleased the my son wanted to spend time with his mom and I told him that.  He said "Yeah, and plus I don't like my friends hanging out with me on the computer in your room when you tend to leave your bra or (gross) panties laying arou...

Losing Weight

I'm still looking to lose a little more weight, so I started walking.  I went every two or three days for about 15 minutes and then boom, on Sunday, I went for 30 minutes (I timed it on the car addy to be about 2 miles) and have been doing the 30 a day for 3 days now.  I am feeling better, but have not weighed myself yet.  The kick start was some hoodia that I took about a year or so ago and then just eating healthier.  Once I lost a little it gave me the inspiration to do more and I am liking the results.Besides hoodia it seems that people are looking for Phentermine.  This is a low rated addition to pills, but seems to be the most sought after although it is harder to get.  Consumer Price Watch is reviewing these and other weight loss pills and giving their reports on the top ten. I guess in my blogging experience I am finding that indeed practice does make perfect or in my case, better at least.  HaHa.  I'm still such a newbie and learning all the time.  I think it is great that there are so many blogs and advice out there that you can learn a lot from.  I, myself, browse frequently.  But then I get confused and forget that you need to make a plan and really study what you read and make those relationships that will not only help you, but will grant you some pretty wonderful friends on the net.  I'm not talking about spamming on someones blog "Hey check out my blog!" in a comment on a post that is totally unrelated to the post.  I mean make some meaningful and thoughtful posts on blogs that you really like.  I found a Personal Blog that has some good information on making the most out of adsense.  Also, the main thing is that he seems to post frequently and does what his title says, "Practice Make Perfect " ...

Should Have Put A Chip In His Head When He Was Born

I still think I should have put a chip in my son's head when he was born so that I could track his movements! I especially began thinking this about the time he turned 13.  Now he's 16 and it would REALLY help.  Oh, well, they won't allow that anyway, but the next best thing to major surgery is gps fleet tracking that you can track in real time.  You can put it on their vehicle, their person (not surgically...sigh...) or in a package.
