I absolutely love the titles of these paintings by William Strutt..so clever and funny!Strutt was born in England but spent a great deal of his life in Australia. He is known for his work as an illustrator and later for his commissioned works. One of his most famous pieces is titled Black Thursday, February 6th which depicted men and animals running from the bush fire that swept across Victoria, Australia. In the two above paintings, Strutt's dog is a Jack Russell Terrier. 2007-07-10 04:33:00 I first saw Blue Dog when we were vacationing in Myrtle Beach ,SC. We had gone to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville restaurant to eat and there on the wall I saw him! And I loved him and all his blueness! Come to find out, he is really a she...Blue Dog was created by George Rodrigue and is based on his deceased dog, Tiffany, and the the legend of Loup Garou. Rodrigue has been selling his relief prints over at Blue Dog Relief to help aid the relief efforts in Louisiana. Tiffany was a black and white spaniel...not blue! Fun! More About: Dogs

2007-06-25 00:25:00 Awww...these dogs are so ugly and so cute at the same time!Elwood, also known as "ET" because his middle name is Tyler and "Yoda" because...well...because he looks like "Yoda", is this year's winner of the Ugliest Dog Contest in Petaluma, CA. This Chinese Crested and Chihuahua mix was on his way to being euthanized but was rescued by his owner, Kelly Quigley. 2007-06-12 17:37:00 We all have different learning styles. Some of us are auditory learners and some of us are visual learners....some are kinesthetic and some tactile. Some of us are wiggly and have a hard time focusing long enough to actually learn something!Today I cam across this article about BARKS which is a program that goes into the schools and helps students who are struggling to read. I think this is a brilliant idea and so much fun...it really takes the pressure of the child who is struggling and that is wonderful.
