Wishful Thinking...
2007-12-12 12:46:00
Ever since I can remember I've always had cats, from when I was single to now, a married woman. And because of that, me and hubby have sort of resigned to the fact that if we are going to have cats, then we have to sacrifice having nice furniture like the ones we see in the magazine, internet sites or even at our friend's houses. We would only be able to wish on our dream of a beautiful sofa set like the one below found over at furniturefromhome dot com coz as long as the kitties consider our furniture as scratch post.. well I guess all cat owners can relate eh?Perhaps the only one area that we can consider making over would be the bedroom. We've had the bedroom suite since we were married and perhaps for our wedding anniversary next year, a new bed set might be a nice change. And since the kitties are not allowed in the bedroom, that piece of furniture would be spared..lol.. but we stil love our kitties!Cheerio...

A Much Healthier Nina
2007-12-07 11:19:00
I thank God everytime I see Nina goes to her food bowl and start eating and I thank God for making Nina stronger everyday. Yes, Nina who has been losing weight is now slowing regaining her weight again. She has now a healthy appetite and we see her going to her food and water bowl more frequently now. AND!! Less visits to her litter bin!!Yey!!... I'm hoping she regain a substantial weight gain by next week Thursday for her next appointment so that Dr Habibah can stop worrying and not do any more test on her. Poor thing she gets so frightened now when she sees her pet taxi..It's ok Nina dearest, keep on eating well and you'll not have to go the vet again ya :)Get well soon..A much happier cat mommy

A Gift for Nina
2007-11-29 16:31:00
Nina just came back today from the vet hospital after a two day stay of more test. The vet still is not sure of what is causing Nina to lose over 1.5kg in a span of only 14days even after all the test. The test that they conducted were for feline leukemia, HIV, ultrasound to see her internal organs namely the kidney and liver. All results came back negative, which is a huge relief to hear. They also did another urinalysis and blood test. They still found bacteria in her urine but nothing suggest why she lost weight. Right not, Dr Habibah suspects that it could be she physiological. She suspects her recovery might be hindered due to the fact that I was not around during her "healing" period. Doc prescribed more antibiotics, some vitamins to stimulate her appetite and another checkup in 14days time. Through all these ordeal, I thought it might be nice to get Nina a Christmas cum get well gift so that she knows how much we love her. So, since I was doing my online shopping anyway, I st...

More Test for Nina
2007-11-28 08:09:00
I was so shocked to see Nina upon returning from my hometown coz she ain't the cat that I left. She was so skinny. Hubby did update me on her status while I was away but never did I imagined she was going to be that small. We brought her in early for her follow up appointment at the vet on 26 November. The vet was not happy with her progress at all and although her visits to the litter bin had drastically reduced, the vet was puzzled as to why she lost more than 1kg in a span of 2 weeks. The question was "Where has all Nina's fat gone to?"We had to leave Nina again at the UPM Clinic for more test. This time, the vet would do the x-rays and ultrasound as they want to see the condition of Nina's liver and kidneys. As of today, still no diagnosis from the vet yet. So we are still waiting....A Sad Mommy Cat

Update on Nina
2007-11-11 17:46:00
We brought Nina home on Wednesday from UPM Clinic. The vet's diagnoses was "Cystitis", which is the infection of the urethra. So thank GOD, it was not anything major that required x-rays or surgery. In fact she can even stop on her special diet food which she does not quite like. The doctor actually shaved part of her lower body as there were signs of some urine burn. She was also prescribed antibiotics for the infection and vitamins to improve her appetite. Calamine lotion was also given for the urine burn on her abdomen and she has an appointment with the vet on 26 November.According to the vet, Nina was not a happy camper at the clinic. She refused to eat so she was forced fed and she made lots of noise in her cage. Even when we fetched her that day, she was making so much noise. However, the best sign that we got that she is going to be alright is when she went straight to her feeding bowl upon arrival at home. Really awesome :-)She still makes a fuss when it is medicine time b...

Nina to UPM Vet
2007-11-06 13:08:00
After two weeks of antibiotics and anti-swelling medications from the vet over at Cheras, there was still no change of Nina 's condition. She still frequents the litter bin and although spending a long time in there, I don't see any "outgoing" at all. So hubby and I decided it's time to take some drastic action and bring her to the UPM Vet Clinic instead. This clinic belongs to the Veterinarian Department of the University Putra Malaysia and is being run by some professional vet and the undergrads there. We had sent one other cat there before. He, Tom, was a stray and had a broken pelvic. I guess he must have been strike by some irresponsible people or something. They had operate on him and put some metal steel into his pelvic so that he can walk again. He is now healthily running around my IL's compound.Back to Nina, yesterday, there wanted to get some blood and urine sample before coming up with any diagnosis. Since we are living in Ampang and the clinic is in Serdang, we deci...

Nina at the Vet
2007-10-19 19:31:00
Nina has been going to her litter bin more than usual for three days now. So today, hubby and me decided that a Vet visit was in order. She does not look sick or anything, in fact she's eating well and is still running around. Her only problem was she keeps going to her litter bin and she smelled of pee.She was such a good girl and did not make any noise at all in the car unlike some kitties I know..(peering at Mufasa). There's always a queue at the Vet but our turn came soon enough. I explained to the Vet what was wrong with Nina and she did her tests. Thankfully, accordingly to the Vet, she did not detect any swelling of the urinary tract or the bladder. Nina also did not have any fever. So she prescribed some antibiotics and something to reduce any swelling that she might not have detected and we were told to bring her back if her condition did not change in a week time. However, since the symptoms shows very much like bladder stone, the vet would like to be on the cautious side...

My Own Online Store
2007-10-19 09:50:00
Not many people know this but me and hubby used to breed cats and the kittens were placed at the local pet store for them to find new homes. This was no easy feat. Taking care of the pregnant mommies were easy enough but the childbirth or kitten birth was another story altogether.Like human being, there was of course the post natal care as well. Some of the cat mommies don't really have any maternal instinct. They give birth and that's it. They don't lick the kittens, they don't nurse the kitten and in fact they behave like they have not given birth just twenty four hours ago! So we had to take up the role of being mommy cat. Feeding was done every 2hours. Yeap, even in the middle of the night. Me and hubby would take turns feeding the kittens who would scream their little lungs out if we were even five minutes late. But you know what was the most heart-breaking moment? When we had to actually send them off to the pet shop. It was like separation anxiety you know. It was like giv...

Blog for Money
2007-10-18 19:35:00
A year ago, if someone told me I could blog for money, I would have laughed and said "seriously??". Now I know better and am myself telling people I know that it is indeed possible. Why would there be a program that pays you to blog? Well, programs like Smorty, provide an avenue for advertiser and bloggers to connect. Advertisers need to spread the word about the product and services that they offer and bloggers provide that opportunity for them to reach out to visitors of the blogs. In other words, bloggers reviews the advertiser's product and services for a fee that is paid by the advertisers. A win-win situation for both parties involved.Of course in order for your blog to qualify for opportunities, it has to meet certain criteria by the the program. Smorty has excellent customer service. My blog was approved in less than twenty-four hours after submission and I was on my way to writing my first paid post in minutes. Payments are made via paypal approximately two weeks after ap...

Today Anja thought she was a bird. She got all purposeful climbing ontop of hubby as he sat watching tv and instead of just sitting on his lap, she decided to go slightly higher and sat on his shoulder instead.Look at her here, all perched up like a bird. hehehe

Mariuca just tagged me on this wonderful new meme. I have selected three posts I want to promote along with my site’s name. You will do the same thing.Keep it simple and spread our good work around to both share and build some ratings! Pick three posts that you feel are your best or those you simply want to promote. Your site name is listed with your 3 selected posts beneath.Once you have your post up: Add the sites and post links of the folks you tagged onto your post. Trust Fund for your Pet
2007-09-18 21:42:00
Would you leave USD12million trust fund to your pet after your demise?Well, billionaire hotelier, Leona Helmsley did. "Trouble", the white Maltese, inherited a trust fund worth USD12million after his beloved owner deceased. According the the video, pet owners in the States are now doing the same thing, I mean the trust fund bit not the amount though.I'm all for it too. I would not want my kitties to end up being stray or worst - euthanased.

Sunday was Bathday
2007-09-09 20:19:00
Today was bathday for three of us, Nina, Anja and myself. Yucks.. I hate it. Let me say that again. I HATE IT. I believe the sentiments were shared by both my sisters as well. It started innocently enough. Mommy started to comb me, cleaned my eyes and as she was doing that, whispering sweet nothings in my ears and saying what a good girl I was. Yada, yada yada. Then come the punchline! Mommy carried me and along the way, grabbed a towel and entered the bathroom and I knew I was in trouble. I started to scream my heart out.. "Meerk, meerk, meerk" but mommy did not heed my cries... Alas, all hope I had was gone. Mommy sprayed the water making me all wet, lather me with that soap she loves so much, then came more water. Conditioner was next... then that awful water again... "meerk, meerrk, meerrk".. it fell on deaf ears... finally, the water flow stopped, mommy grabbed the towel and I was all dried up again. Once Mommy opened the door and I ran out of that torture room like there was no...

What? A Dog Tale?
2007-09-07 15:46:00
I know, I know, this blog is about my cats but I simply got to let you know about this event called the 4th annual Pooch Plunge which was held in Fort Collins, Colorado during August 19th-20th from 4pm to 5.30pm. The event was held at the City Park Pool which is only open for the summer. What's interesting is what happens before they drained the pool. Our four legged friends, dogs that is, get to enjoy it first. For $5 pre-sale and $7 at the gate tickets, the doggies get to cool themselves in the summer - no hold barred. Here's a snapshot of the video. You really got to see it even if you don't like dogs. It's hilarious! The pooches getting all excited Hurry up, will you.Wooshhhh!Perhaps next year, you can bring your doggie there to swim??As for my kiddies, hmm.. I'll be thankful if they let me wet them...lolzz

Peek-a-Nina
2007-09-06 18:32:00
Nina's having a love affair with the curtains at the balcony. It started two days ago when we saw her nuzzling her body there and started to roll around with the curtains. Seen here is after the rolling and "time to sleep" pose. She is also probably hiding from Smokey who has been chasing her round the apartment prior to this picture. Nina just "hates' Smokey. Nina says: "I can't see you, so you can't see me right?"Mommy say: "Right sweetie"...lolz

A Cat Joke
2007-09-05 20:16:00
A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park. As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway. The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast out and headed home. Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat! He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home. At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Jen, is the cat there?" "Yes," the wife answers, "why do you ask?" Frustrated, the man answered, "Put that son of a bitch on the phone, I'm lost and need directions!"

Someone got locked in!
2007-09-04 11:19:00
It is normal practice for me every time I leave the house to do a head count -just to make sure all six of our kids are NOT locked inside any rooms. Technically they are forbidden to enter any rooms in the house but usually they squeeze their way in anyway.Yesterday, for some reason or another I did not do a headcount and just left. It so happened I had errands to run so did not return home till after dinner, plus the rain did not help either. When me and hubby returned home, Smokey was busy pacing in front of my dressing room which makes me totally suspicious that there was someone or some-cat there. And true enough, when I opened the door, Aggie - the princess - rushed out, looking all panicky. She was locked in from 10.00am to 9.00pm!Her first destination when freed was - you guessed it - her food bowl. Hubby was like "get her water, get her water" but Aggie had something else in mind. "I want food", she said.. She ate and ate and ate without looking left or right. In the meantime...

Give me some loving please
2007-09-01 20:12:00
You can see why Anja is my darling hubby's favorite. She is so loving and so romantic...heheh.She was actually sleeping on the couch when we got home from dinner last night. Then as we wanted to watch a show on "Discovery Channel", hubby moved her and put her at another spot. Not a happy camper as we disturbed her beauty sleep, she decided that she was going to sleep on the same spot except now it was on hubby. She slept there throughout the show and then decided to wake up, gave hubby a little kiss of thank you and went on her merry way :-)

Toilet trained your Cat (s)
2007-09-01 13:20:00
I simply have to blog about this product and how wonderful it will be if I can really apply it to my own household. Unfortunately I don't think any of my "fat" cats can balance at the edge like the video showed though.. but anyway if you saw the movie - "Meet the inlaws", you would have seen the the cat using the toilet remember?Well here's a new product I found online. It looks promising and if it really works then I can goodbye to all the litter cleaning and definitely a savings to the pocket as well.Check out the video to see how how it is done. You will be impressed. I did :-)
