The Christmas Party Contest!
2006-12-30 08:41:01 Hello all, hope you guys had a great time and had lots of fun this Chris t mas !In my previous post, I have already spoken about the Pet Costume Party we had arranged in our local park on 24th of December. I think Mom didnot sleep the previous night being soo busy with the Christmas preparations. Being a late riser, I woke up at 9 in the morning, went down to our sitting room to find my Mom and sister going crazy with a pile of dresses. I was a bit startled. What are they trying to do? But then I realized, today was the costume contest. But hey, why they seem to be soo worried about their "costumes" when it's out and out a PET COSTUME CONTEST! hahah!! These ladies... Nobody can understand them!! Anyways, Jack was looking awesome in that red santa costume; Max in his elf costume started bullying around,such a naughty dog he is! Our Christmas gifts!
2006-12-28 20:39:01 Hi, it's me Maple again. I am here to complete my yesterday's post. I wanted Justin to write the post for me since he writes well, but he had to go somewhere else. This Chris t mas , we got many cards and lots of gifts from our friends. Smokey and Saddie's Momma gave us a wonderful Christmas card. It's a lovely card with funny cat pics printed on it! One almost looked like Emily. Hehe!! She also brought a mat with cat paw designs on it. Sam and George gave us a BIG card and 2 paw mugs: one golden and another silver in color. I had decided to keep the silver mug as I love the color very much. Our other kitty friends also had lots of surprises ready for us. Sassy presented us 2 cat bowls and a tin of dry cat food. She is soo good! Mom, please open the tin and let us have the food! Pleaseeeeee!! The dogs too received gifts like a paw printed soft fleece blanket for each. 2006-12-27 20:38:01 Justin is becoming too naughty! He is the one who writes the posts in the blog. But see this boy today, after late night Christmas party he is sleeping like Rip Van Winkle! And just see Mom, EVEN she has allowed him to be in bed for soo longgggg. When we little creatures sleep Mom comes in n forces us to get up from our beds,(mostly from Justin's bed) not listening to our aarfs n meows!!Yesterday, we had a ball! Our friends George (Sam's kitty boy), Smokey n Saddie (Martha's cat), n some of our other close feline friends came in our house. Justin had invited them on our behalf (thanx to Justin for that) we enjoyed a lot. 2006-12-22 14:33:01 Hey friends, wake up! Christmas is knocking at the doors.Yesterday, we finished decorating our house with those lovely ribbons, stars n balls that dad had bought. Ya, you are right. This year we are ahead with all the preparations. Mom is really excited. She has almost finished baking the cookies n cakes. Yummy they look!! My pets've already started peeping into the kitchen now n then with the hope of getting a tid bit to taste. But alas! Mom has a strict rule. Here are some ideas that have worked for us to make this time a happy one for all. Make sure you check your vet's holiday hours and emergency contacts and have the information easily accessible. Think before you decorate with plants. Cats, dogs and birds will all nibble household plants, and many,including mistletoe and some poinsettias, can make your pet very ill. Make sure your holiday greenery (and "red-ery") is out of your pet's reach. The same is true if you have a Chris t mas tree. You should put only unbreakable decorations at the bottom of your tree, so there is no danger of your cat's batting a glass ball and breaking it, or the pup chewing your grandmother's antique bubble lights. As we were bringing the tree inside, Jack kept on looking at it surprised; as if to say, again what crap you guys are bringing!! Mom decided to keep it in our sitting room where the guests would be coming. Dad got a box of colorful ribbons, stars n bells to decorate the rooms as there is not much time left.After sometime, the whole pet batallion came to investigate our whereabouts. They started sniffing, woofing, purring around the tree to know exactly wat is it. The reason being the Christmas Pet Cost ume Contest arranged on the 24th of December in our local park in Asheville. She has bought some beautiful dresses for my dogs n cats. They include, the Santa Costume for Jack, an Elf Costume for Max n an Angel Costume for Maggie, my sweet little Chihuahua. Mrs.Kelly, our next door neighbor has bought a Pet Reindeer Antler, although I don't know on whose head will I put it!! Mom, while having a chat with some friend of hers over the fone, was talking seriously about something! Later, I came to know that it was about those Snowman Jacket, Butter Soft Pink Jacket n Butter Soft Lavender Jacket which they 've seen in the shops..Her friend herself has purchased a Pink Gingham w/Fur Trim Coat for her cat. No importation, sale, or possession of pit bulls in Washington, D.C.n Baltimore will be allowed henceforth. The reason being a man murdered a pit bull owner who refused to fight his dog n in the Baltimore City, a pit bull attacked a 7 year old girl. Both the news was quite nerve-racking. But its quite unfortunate for these dogs who once used to be the pride of America are now being hunted n killed unconditionally. I read some article that just before Halloween, people adopt black cats from the pet shelters n after the event, these cats are returned to the shelters and why?coz "He just didn't work out." It's as if these people just wanted another Halloween decoration for their home - a black cat in the window, perhaps, or a new member to wear a "witch" costume. It probably never occurred to them that this practice is cruel and inhumane -this kind of individual typically thinks of cats as property, and not as an able companion. We got him by luck!! Actually, Mommy was walking down the road when she saw a little cuddly thing moving. She went close to've a better look n she found this puppy. We were very happy to get him.
