Popular Paws: Briard
2007-12-03 08:06:00 Briard: Buck from the Sitcom: Married with Children (1987-1997) Buck (whose voiceover was done by writer Kevin Curran and in special episodes by Cheech Marin) is the family dog of the Bundy Family. He is often "heard" by the audience through voiceovers that tell us what is on his mind. He is just as disgusted with the family as the others. Peggy dotes on him, sometimes even cooking for him, which says a lot! Buck was the first dog of the Bundy Family. He "dies" in episode 1003 called: "Requiem for a Dead Briard" to allow the ten-year-old Briard that portrayed him to retire, although he was immediately reincarnated as Lucky, the American Cocker Spaniel. But nobody in the family realised this. Buck, the Briard died in 1999. He was a lovable character and missed by the audience. More About: Popular , Pula
Blue French Bulldog Puppies for Sale at Euro Puppy!
2007-11-30 18:00:00 Some call them French Bulldogs. Some call them Bouledogue Français. Whatever name you know them as, their charm is undeniable. As with all things rare, be that a white elephant of a red diamond, blue Frenchies are also in high demand. Why blue? Well apart from the usual fawn, brindle, pied color that they usually come in, an exceptional hue can also be found if somewhat rarely- in Frenchies. These rare-colored French Bulldogs are called Blue French Bulldogs. There are 3 types that occur in the blue hue: Blue, or Blue Brindle markings on a dog have a "grey" hue, and the base coat color is a solid blue-grey. It has been debated whether or not this color is also what the standards refer to as 'mouse'. A Blue Pied French Bulldog is a result of the d or dilute gene. In this form, the dilute factor has caused the black hairs to become blue. Pigment on the nose and the pads of the feet are also a grayish blue in color, and eyes are often blue or yellowish gold. Again, this c... More About: For Sale , Euro , Sale

What is the perfect doghouse for your dog?
2007-11-27 11:37:00 A company called House of Hammocks has defined a formula, by which you can calculate how big a dog-house is required for your dog. Dogs require smaller doors than what their total height is and they have to have an opening large enough to accommodate their width. When it comes to measuring the height of the house, all that is needed is to add approximately 1 (2.54cm) to the A measurement that can be seen below. This shows the length of the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the chest. When wanting to buy a doghouse, your first consideration should be the door. It is basically the most important factor. After all, your dog needs to get easily in and out of the house. Thus, the A-B-C method for determining the ideal dog house size has been developed by the House of Hammocks. it is as follows: The A-B-C Method: There are three measurements that are needed to determine the size of a dog house. They are defined as follows: A: The distance from the dogs shoulder to the b... More About: Perfect
Popular Paws: Border Collie
2007-11-26 09:43:00 Border Collie : "Dog", from The Footrot Flats (1975-2000) Footrot Flats was a comic strip written by New Zealand cartoonist Murray Ball. The cartoon was based around the life of Wal Footrot's Border Collie called "Dog", on their farm Footrot Flats (hence the title), and the other characters, human and animal, that came into their lives. Dog's thoughts are voiced in thought bubbles, though he is clearly "just a dog". The main character of the book, a Border Collie, thinks of himself as tough, but he is really quite soft and often cowardly. He has a real name but despises it and has never allowed anyone to reveal it. Wal always calls him "Dog", gaining loyal devotion. He is often put to use to guard things or asked to get rid of rats or pigs - which he fails to do. However, he is a competent sheepdog all the same. The cartoon ran from 1975 until 1994 in newspapers around the world, though the unpublished strips continued to be released in book form until 2000. Altogether there are ... Tips on Grooming your Dog
2007-11-20 15:08:00 Dog grooming is very important for you dogs physical and mental health. Not only will the coat be shiny, but your dog will be left smelling nice as well. It will also give the two of you some quality time together. Praise and reward your dog. After all, this is a team effort! Some tips for proper grooming practices: Brushing: Let your dog smell the comb or brush before the grooming starts. With a reassuring voice, trust is instilled in the dog. Brush the coat daily to remove dirt. It also prevents tangles from occurring and keeps the skin clean and free from irritation. Always brush in the direction of the hair growth. Begin brushing from the head, and move in the direction of the tail and legs. Legs should be give special attention, since often the hair tangles there the most, if the fur is long. For a dog who resists brushing, you can try treats and plenty of praise to train it in grooming exercises. Just remember not to overfeed it! Puppies have short attention... Popular Paws # 10: Bloodhound
2007-11-19 19:32:00 Bloodhound: "Pluto", the Disney Character (1931-) Pluto (also known as Pluto the Pup) is an animated cartoon made famous in a series of Disney short cartoons. Pluto, has most frequently appeared as Mickey Mouse's pet dog. His first comics appearance was in the Mickey Mouse daily strips in 1931. He also had an independent starring role in a number of Disney shorts in the 1940s and 1950s. Pluto is unusual for a Disney character in that he is not anthropomorphized beyond showing an unusually broad range of facial expressions or upper-body movements at key points, like Goofy. He is actually represented as a normal dog: a bloodhound, although when the character appears at Disney theme parks, he walks upright on his two hind legs. Pluto was named after the dwarf planet Pluto which was discovered in 1930, the same year that the character was conceptualised, and thus is indirectly named after the Roman god of the underworld. Pluto was designed and supervised by Disney animator, Norm Ferg... More About: Popular , Hound , Pula
World's Most Developed Dog:
2007-11-16 10:18:00 The Norwegian Lundehund (lunde: puffin and hund: dog ; also known as: Norsk Lundehund, Norwegian Puffin Dog) is a small dog breed originating from Norway and originally bred for hunting puffins. The Lundehund is the worlds most developed dog, as it has 6 toes and can close its ears! It has a great range of motion in its joints, allowing it to fit into narrow passages. The head can be bent backwards along the dog's own spine, and the forelegs can turn to the side at a 90-degree angle to its body, much like human arms. Its pricked, upright ears can be sealed nearly shut by folding them forward or backward. But its most interesting trait is its Polydactylism (the occurrence of more than the usual numbers of fingers or toes)! Instead of the normal four toes per foot, the Lundehund has six toes, all fully formed, jointed and muscled. Its flexibility and extra toes were ideal for hunting the birds in their inaccessible nesting locations on cliffs and in caves. Interest for the ... More About: World
