City Trashing Party

Rocky: Mother Nature has been having a city trashing party here in Indiana, but fortunately I've moved all my staff to high ground on mom's bed (The name of our city, Terre Haute, is French for "high ground") ....But I say, enough is enough, Mother Nature! Thursday you blew down all our trees ... and then last night you blew down more trees and dumped so much rain on us that a state of emergency has been declared in our county and all the highways in and out of our city are under water and closed, just like many of our city streets. Our beans have been told to stay home and not drive.This is unacceptable!! We're thankful for so many things this Thursday ! First, thank you so much, KC & Missy, for this wonderful award! Look what it did to our front porch: And to the park right in front of our house:We're also SO thankful that our friend Mu Shue got a good report after his needle biopsy yesterday! Your purrs and purrayers worked - but keep them coming because Mu Shue has now had an endoscopy and a tissue biopsy, with results coming tomorrow, and he has to see a cardiologist next week for a heart problem.And we're so very thankful to the anonymous angel who has given Dancer a chance for a good life!Last, but absolutely not least, we're just too thankful for words for Deb and ML and their good work at Furriends of the Cat Blogosphere. Humph! When my human artist said, "Hey, Rocky, wanna go for a piggyback ride outside?" ... well ... outside? Of course, I said yes. But I was duped, big time! Just look what happened .... First, there were actual piggies ...Then, the "piggyback ride" ...Humph! To show my disapproval, I gnawed off a piggy ear before my human put them back on our barbeque grill where they belong!Then I gnawed on a stick to further display my displeasure ... Last week we 'rescued' a sweet little puppy from an abusive home ... she is now named Gracie and is living about an hour from us, free and safe and happy and very, very loved.Now we have another woofie who needs a home. We're introducing Lucky to you today, in hopes that you, or someone you know, will email us at artsycatsy(at)yahoo(dot)com saying you would like to welcome this adorable little boy into your home ...Lucky was rescued in Indianapolis by a young couple where he was frantically running around in the middle of a busy intersection, in great danger of being hit by a car. Rocky: I've been away from blogging for several days because I've been snoopervising my human artist in some very important Artsy Catsy groundskeeping. Yes! I've been OUTSIDE!!First I made sure our clematis is blooming properly ...Next, I mowed the grass out of our garden plot ... I had to sound a floofy tail alarm about this weird thing ... I checked out the roots of our peony garden ... I made sure there were no invading critters in our catalpa tree trunk: I pointed out some weeding that needs to be done ... I inspected the old wash tub my mom is going to paint and transform into a planter.It belonged to her great grandmother ...Then I visited the graves of our kitties who came before ... And I spent a long while visiting the grave of my precious Dustbunny ... Finally, I took a long rest in the shade ... Whew! Groundskeeping is hard work!

Fracas: YAY, our mom is back home after leaving us for 30 whole hours to go bet on horses - which is a pretty poor excuse if you ask me. So while she was gone, I yakked all over the clean dishes she left in the dish drainer. So there! However, her betting technique was admirable - she bet only on horses that had names that included the word "cat" or something similar. It didn't work for the Kentucky Derby, though, because she bet on Tale of Ekati and the stupid horse only came in 4th place. We have everything for Tuesdays here at Artsy Catsy!We have tabbies with tongue and toesies ....We have tummies (lots of them!) ....We have tuxies ... In memory and spirit, we have our beloved tortie Bridge kitty, Hooter ... But wait! There's more!We have a whole houseful of memories and spirits of furbabies who came before ...The lion cub my mom helped to raise ...All the stray & feral kitties we've raised ... this one is Bad Boy, and he lived for many, many years with our good friend Terry ... Our sweet ferret, Macaroni ... Our precious sugar glider, Noni ... There's lots more ... Molly McDuck, Dustbunny, etc. etc. etc., but our blog just isn't big enough. Finally Friday with Fracas

It's Finally Friday - time to relax. You see, I'm not only the Vice President of Artsy Catsy, I'm also the youngest in the household, which makes me the heir apparent. Since some day this feline empire will be mine, it's very important for me to stay in shape and maintain my emotional and physical health. I've been doing that on Fridays with yoga postures I learned from Skittles. I'd like to share them with you ... and give you the proper Sanskrittycat terms: I begin with the resting pose, known as the Cataquiver Comehitherslither ... Then I move gently into the Pussayummi Rubatummi, rotating the paws slowly between tummy and nose, which keeps them in shape for whapping ... I'm thrashing on my Gizzy with joy, because my humans are back home after leaving me for three days!
