Of being retrenched....
2008-05-22 18:06:00 Well we knew it was coming, I just didn't expect it to be today!!I was called in this afternoon and "advised" to take the retrenchment package. Ok now I know if I don't take it, then a month down the line I will be forced to take it.So here's the thing. If I take the voluntary I get a month's pay plus obviously leave pay and I get to go tomorrow so that's another week that I will be paid and not have to work BUT if they force me a month down the line, I only get a weeks pay!!!!I must confess this was a bit of a shock BUT I have to see the positive in this and look at it another way.The Universe has just given me that month's pay that I needed to get the work from home stuff going :)So I best start working my little ass off from Monday! Ok so now I am off to have a vase of wine..... anyone joining me?Supaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Wacky Wine Festival MOB
2008-05-22 10:35:00 Good morning fabulous bloggers, This is the 3rd time I am typing this post and have now learnt my lesson and typed it in a Word document first J. One more sleep to the weekend Woo Hoo! I don?t know about you but I am ready for it! Congrats to Manchester United who won last night, what a nail biting game. Jexx is going to be in Cape Town and would like to have a MOB. So what say you lot, should we give her one or what in true Capetonian style? We realize that there is a MOB on the 6th but for those who are not going or would like to do both, this is going to be loads of fun. So Saturday the 7th would be the day to do it. She has suggested the Robertson Wacky Wine Festival . Taking place in the Robertson Wine Valley, the Wacky Wine Weekend has firmly established itself as one of the Cape Winelands most popular wine festivals. It's the wine festivals' 5th birthday. From 6 - 8 June 2008 wineries from Ashton, Bonnievale, McGregor and Robertson...

The best part of the day.....
2008-05-20 21:57:00 Good evening bloggers,You all know by now that the best part of my day is when I come home to my furry kids and today was even more special.I normally have to go outside into the garden and search for Pumpkin until I find him sleeping under some bush somewhere and then he comes out and greets me.BUTTODAYI opened the sliding door as I always do and who do you think walked through the door with his little broken tail swishing in the air to greet his Human????YES!!!Pumpkin! But wait, there's more.He then stayed indoors and made sure he could see his Human wherever she went :)Now I know for sure, he finally owns me!On another note : Please go and visit our very dear Trinity, she needs our support right now. Up close and personal
2008-05-18 18:52:00 Ok so I never post anything deeply personal but there is so much going on with my life and I am a little scarce in Blogland so I thought I would give you some insight into what is going on. Work has become so unbearable that I found myself slipping into a deep depression last week that got so bad I had a migraine for 2 days. On Thursday when I got to the point where I couldn?t see straight anymore I came home and crawled into bed feeling very sorry for myself. I lay there for ages and then sat bolt upright and began to give myself a lecture which went something like this: ?C you need to stop this sh*t, the ONLY person who can end this is YOU and you are not doing it fast enough. Snap out of this cr*p and tell the Universe what you want and then go out and just GET IT.? At 5 when I was rudely awoken by Son A coming home asking when supper was, I switched on my cell phone. I had a message from a good friend telling me to phone immediately as it was work related. I... More About: Personal , Close
The journey
2008-05-17 23:20:00 The Journey When you bring a pet into your life, you begin a journey. A journey that will bring you more love and devotion than you have ever known, yet will also test your strength and courage. If you allow, the journey will teach you many things, about life, about yourself, and most of all, about love. You will come away changed forever, for one soul cannot touch another without leaving its mark. Along the way, you will learn much about savoring life's simple pleasures -- jumping in leaves, snoozing in the sun, the joys of puddles, and even the satisfaction of a good scratch behind the ears. If you spend much time outside, you will be taught how to truly experience every element, for no rock, leaf, or log will go unexamined, no rustling bush will be overlooked, and even the very air will be inhaled, pondered, and noted as being full of valuable information. Your pace may be slower, except when heading home to the food dish, but you will become a better nat... More About: The Journey

Your Friday story............
2008-05-16 10:22:00 Here is your Friday story, Push "How are you feeling?" asked my friendly neurosurgeon Dr. Alex Gol as I lay in my hospital bed in the rehab hospital at 3:30 P.M. after a torturous day in therapy. I could not yet utter a single word after sustaining a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) at the age of 19. So I nodded as if to say, "OK." Dr. Gol then calmly replied, "That's nice," and quickly left the room with a smile. As he was leaving I thought to myself, "Dr. Gol...so nice...so calm...so peaceful." I tried to reposition myself in my bed as the door closed behind him in order to get more comfortable, but something was not "right" in the hospital hallway as I heard a great commotion coming from there. (True, I could not yet speak; however, nothing was wrong with my hearing and there was plenty of screaming coming from the hall.) I wondered, "What was the problem?" I soon found out the cause of the chaos: it was sweet, serene and calm Dr. Gol who was causing it. As soon as he left my... More About: Story
FINALLY my Mob post.....
2008-05-14 21:08:00 Ok so after being distracted by various "things" I am finally going to do my MOB post.Dreamweaver is in Cape Town so she wanted to meet a few bloggers. Sponty and I arranged to meet her at Spur in Bayside (or so Sponty said) at 12.30.At 11.30 I get an sms from Sponty to say she is on her way and is Bayside........... no that's not where it is Sponty!I call her and we arrange for her to come to me and we will go in my car.We skid into Bayside parking lot at exactly 12.30, walk excitedly to the Spur and can't find Dreamweaver. Sponty calls. "We are sitting at the window" says Dreamweaver. Huh??? What window?Eventually after much discussion I insist that Sponty hands me the phone. Dreamweaver is at Big Bay Spur!!!!!! "Well it has the word Bay in it" says Sponty. After much rolling of the eyes from me we zoom off to Big Bay and there they were. Dreamweaver and Spouse A. What an awesome couple. Dreamweaver has this naughty twinkle in her eye with a wicked sense of humour to match and Sp... More About: Post , Finally

My 12 x 12
2008-05-12 19:14:00 At 6 am I woke up and the first thing I saw was this. I was greeted by Leo and Miaghi?.. ?Don?t wake up now Mom, it?s still dark!? I stumbled to the kitchen and opened the fridge to what I could take to work for lunch. Err, not much in there. Work we?ll skip entirely?. Same sh*t, different day! When I got home, even though the weather looked like this? I went outside for some pet therapy Pumpkin played with bally things. And Jake and Columbus stalked each other. Bacardi thought it might be safe to watch from a distance. Big Daddy as always kept an eye on the ?kids?. And Littely is feeling a bit sorry for herself, she has a sore eye but the antibiotics are helping. Renegade thought about joining in. Magoo was only interested in ?bathing? Leo of course thought it was safer NOT to come down from the wall unit. Indoors, Son A err ?watched TV?. All in all it wasn?t a bad day, once I got home of course J

It's the weekend baby!!!
2008-05-10 11:06:00 *Shew* This week really did seem to drag on after all the holidays we have been having. I won't talk about work other than to say I really need to get out of there!Ok so it's the weekend, YAY!I have been thinking lately of the benefits of pet therapy and wondering if I could start something along those lines using my cats, they love people contact too. After a bad day at work (which in my case lately is most days) there is nothing like coming home to a bunch of loving, purring cats. Last night while chatting to my Blanket friend, I got to touch Littely and would you believe it - she actually purred. Man she has a loud purr for such a little cat!Winter must be here because last night ALL of the cats were in and sleeping in various places in the house by 10PM!Anyway, got loads to do and I am off to meet Dreamweaver for lunch in about an hour and a half, looking forward to that.I hope you all have a fabulous Saturday :) More About: Baby , Weekend
Your Friday story............
2008-05-09 13:18:00 Here is your Friday story, Wealth Comes In Many Forms My mentor, Bob Proctor, once said, "Don't cry over anything that won't cry over you." People will often create tremendous suffering for themselves just because they're in debt or have lost money. They'll generate intense feelings of anger, sadness, and fear, all of which are destructive and actually make it more difficult for them to regain the wealth they lost. Because they're upset, they may fight with their spouse over money or become severely depressed, not realizing that the power to create abundance for themselves once again is always available to them. When you understand that money is simply one form of the tremendous force known as abundance or wealth, and that you can always receive riches from our ever-giving Universe, it becomes easier to let go of negative feelings about money and the destructive belief that material wealth is more important than other manifestations of abundance. Ask yourself how much money you... More About: Story

Negative feelings....
2008-05-05 11:47:00 When we carefully examine our negative emotions we always find them directed against some other person. Even when we seem to resent our circumstances we secretly or openly blame others for those circumstances. So it is important that we clarify our feelings as they relate to other people. It clears everything in a surprising way. It is strange how human beings miss the most obvious facts about their negativities toward others. A hateful man seldom reasons, "Hatred toward others makes me miserable, so in the name of common sense I'd better abandon it." Rarely does a resentful person think, "Resentment of other people drains my strength and destroys my mental powers, so I'd better clear it from my life." Negative feelings so cloud a man with darkness that he cannot see what he is doing to himself. Sooner or later, all of us must see that negative feelings toward another person is like tossing dust at him while the wind blows against us. It all comes back. This is not merely a morali... Another MOB Cape Town style....
2008-05-03 15:39:00 On Wednesday my phone rang and a voice said ?What are you doing on Friday night??. ?Nothing? I said. Plans were made and on Friday afternoon I zoomed off to Meezie?s to help her prepare for the MOB taking place later that evening. Once I got there, vegetables were taken out and I proceeded to chop carrots, eggplant, onion, potatoes?.. the list is endless. And I chopped and chopped and chopped?.. (Note the Food24.com recipe) Of course, there was time for me to have a ?quick? drink or two?. Gotta have refreshments right? The stove was on, the pots were on and we were ?cooking?. Of course, there was a LOT of stirring?? but that?s another blog entirely. The table was set. So? I rushed off and went home to shower and change etc and raced straight back?. Boy was I surprised. Your Friday Story....
2008-05-02 10:28:00 Here is your Friday story, It's a very long read today peeps, but, well worth the read. The Daffodil Principle Several times my daughter had telephoned to say, "Mother, you must come and see the daffodils before they are over." I wanted to go, but it was a two-hour drive from Laguna to Lake Arrowhead. Going and coming took most of a day - and I honestly did not have a free day until the following week. "I will come next Tuesday," I promised, a little reluctantly, on her third call. Next Tuesday dawned cold and rainy. Still, I had promised, and so I drove the length of Route 91, continued on I-215, and finally turned onto Route 18 and began to drive up the mountain highway. The tops of the mountains were sheathed in clouds, and I had gone only a few miles when the road was completely covered with a wet, gray blanket of fog. I slowed to a crawl, my heart pounding. The road becomes narrow and winding toward the top of the mountain. As I executed the hazardous turns at a snail's pace, ... More About: Story
Sideview's Weekend Challenge....
2008-05-01 14:13:00 Sideview has issued us with a weekend challenge which is right up my alley! ?The temperature is indicated by the length of the sleeping cat? This weekend is a chance for all of the cat people and photographers to take a picture or two and post them. For the others it is a research project online or elsewhere. Visual evidence for and against. In my household of course, it's more of a sleeping cat indoors especially with the ferals who now have the freedom of the outdoors. I have noticed that cats will sleep more in times of intense heat or intense cold so I would have to agree that the temperature is indicated by the length of the sleeping cat. The little ferals favour the cold weather for play time and will sleep in the warmer weather. Today the wind is quite cold so all of my lot are sleeping indoors, they don?t seem to like the wind very much. They seem rather surprised when a sudden gust of wind comes up behind them. In order of age, here are my sleeping cats..... More About: Weekend , Challenge

Cats and trees....
2008-04-29 10:47:00 Hi All, Hope you are all well and enjoyed the long weekend. Mine has been busy as always with things cat like?. I managed to ?coax? one Renegade cat into the back garden and on Sunday she came into the house of her own accord and there she stayed until this morning. Pumpkin is doing great and getting tamer by the day although he does like to scare the c**p out of the human by hiding and then pouncing and hissing!! I hissed back and that seemed to stop him in his tracks, LMAO! Columbus and Littely are in their element what with all this freedom with the sliding door permanently open and having access to the great outdoors. My lot have become like kittens again especially my 12 year old bitch biker cat who runs, stalk and pounces and has even attempted climbing the tree a few times. Sponty and I had a fabulous MOB on Saturday evening at Rockybaby who as always was a perfect hostess and not to mention her Darling Hubby who kept us ve... More About: Cats , Trees
Quick Update
2008-04-23 22:12:00 Hi all,Life is a bit hectic at the moment so this is just a quick update. As far as the work front is concerned my whole sad story has been sent via an email and a labour attorney will be taking a look at it in the morning and advising me on what should/shouldn't be done. The regengades: I haven't seen the white one for a while so I guess she has found a really good hiding place but the little tabby and white comes right up to the front door and just stares at me. I have taken to leaving the front door and window open in case she decides its time to come in.Pumpkin is completely tame and sleeps on my bed all snuggled up. He comes for his bit of human love every night and now when I walk around the house, he follows me. Littely is still a bit skitterish but is also sleeping on the bed ON the human but still not sure about being touched so I will need a bit more patience there. She is however very fascinated that Pumpkin seems to be doing an awful lot of purring around the... More About: Update , Quick
