Late......... again
2008-01-12 17:46:00 Does anyone want 3 guesses as to why I am so late with my post today??Frigging Eiskom AGAIN! And I almost had to grab for my vase of wine when I switched on my pc and it started doing a scan and then running a diagnostic.....Anyway all is well with my pc (phew!) as you can see so here I am!Today has really not been a good day for me. I wasn't in the mood for having a visit from my neighbour today so I left the car in the garage this morning. Therein lies my first problem. The washing machine is in there. I had to squeeze past the car to get to the machine with washing basket in hand..... Bugger and bollocks didn't I just knock all the "stuff" off the shelf on my way through! Then while I am loading the washing into the machine, I hear a VERY loud crash in the kitchen. Hadn't Lord Muck (Jake) just decided that the kitchen counter was a fun place to ski! He broke 3 tiles! I will post pics of that later. It didn't get much better after that because then the load shedding st... More About: Late

Here is your Friday story
2008-01-11 13:07:00 Saying Your Thank You's A year ago, at a get-together of a dozen girlfriends from college, I saw my old friend, Therese Gibson. When I told her I was writing a book called Happy for No Reason, which focuses on the 21 core habits of unconditionally happy people, she told me about the daily gratitude ritual she practices with her 95-year-old father, Charlie, that keeps them smiling and feeling good. Therese moved in with Charlie, who's still sharp as a tack, during a bad time in both their lives. Charlie's wife had just died, Therese was at the tail end of a painful divorce, and money was tight. They were as glum as any two people could be. But both had heard that gratitude was a great way to feel better, so they decided to sit together for a few minutes each morning before Therese headed off to work and tell each other three things they were grateful for in their lives. "It was slow going in the beginning," Therese told me. "The first time we did it, I had a hard time thinking o... More About: Story , Friday

Not tonight dear, I have a migraine....
2008-01-09 14:40:00 I know, I know, I am late. I woke up this morning at 05h45 with what can only be called a MOTHER of a migraine.... I took loads of drugs (the legal prescirption variety) and by 06h45 there was still no change so I sms'd the sod sorry I mean the boss and said that I would not be in.... well I couldn't even drive, never mind work and there was no chance of blogging either..... I couldn't see.I took another 2 tablets and went back to bed and woke up way past 11. The head is still pounding a little but at lest I can see enough to read the blogs..... and of course the comments.I will leave you with some thoughts while I go and scratch for some Myprodol.....~ Yes, but every time I try to see things your way, I get a headache.~ If you have a lot of tension and you get a headache, do what it says on the aspirin bottle: "Take two aspirin" and "Keep away from children".~ This is the reason why your headache didn't go away: That's actually pronounced analgesic, not anal-g... 2008-01-08 22:36:00 This is what I like doing best...... coming home, playing with the cats (Czardas and Vusi get your minds out of the gutter!) and then reading all the blogs and of course the comments. And then there's the responding to all the comments..... And reading more comments..And I have come to realise that sometimes the best part is reading the comments on not only my blog but on other people's blogs.Last night I was crying with laughter reading some of the comments. A thinks I have completely lost it now, he calls me "Blogkop", (that's BlogHead fro you Vusi) says he can't remember what I look like (except maybe from the back glued to the pc screen). Thank goodness I wasn't still at the office or come to think of it maybe that's why they have blocked the blog site at the office.....there was FAR too much laughter coming from my office. And we can't have laughter at the office now can we? I mean after all it is a place of WORK. My boss keeps asking me why I am laughing (poor bu...

Psychic Income vs Material Income
2008-01-07 14:19:00 People ask me all the time: "Does the Law of Attraction work?" Of course it works. But most people are asking the wrong question. The right question to be asking is: "What's my unique purpose, and how can I use the Law of Attraction to give value to the world? When you've defined your true direction in life and followed it, you're living the true secret. In the words of Albert Einstein, "Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." So let's count income in a completely different way from here on out. There are two types: psychic and material income. How many times have you volunteered for a church activity, or for those of you who have children - making costumes for the school play, helping out at the fete or volunteering for the PTA? Maybe you've donated your time to worthy causes, and you've received absolutely no monetary or material income. In this care I have a question for you.Why did y... Hectic!
2008-01-06 15:43:00 I get IOL headlines daily in my Inbox and this story caught my eye so I thought that I would post it:The Cape of Good Hope SPCA has started trapping abandoned cats at the home of a woman who has been hospitalised for psychiatric observation with suspected Diogenes syndrome, or senile squalor syndrome. The condition is characterised by extreme self-neglect, domestic squalor and compulsive hoarding of all sorts of items including refuse and animals.Allan Perrins, chief executive officer of the Cape of Good Hope Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, said they were alerted by a neighbour who had noticed the 55-year-old woman acting strangely on a number of occasions."She would strip naked in public and also imagined herself to be the pilot of a Boeing 747." The woman had recently moved into a flat complex in Kuils River with about 20 cats."She has allegedly been served with two notices to 'get rid of the cats' but reportedly refuses to do so."Perrins said the woman had been... The way to a woman's heart
2008-01-06 12:19:00 .......... is through her cat/cats..... (no Vusi, get your mind OUT of the gutter - not that cat!)So, you're dating someone who shares her house with a cat (or multiple cats). If your relationship is going to get anywhere, I encourage you to follow each of these suggestions:If the cat wants to spend an hour untying your shoelace, let him. When he gets it untied, retie it so he can continue playing.Never make a big show of brushing the cat fur from your clothes.Get in the habit of putting a couple of catnip treats in your pocket. Slip them to the cat when she isn't watching. (Note: you may have to do this through the entire dating period, because the cat will more than likely investigate and have a relationship with your pocket each time you visit.)Don't push the cat off the sofa if he's inserted himself between the two of you. If he's still sitting between the two of you when you get amorous, reassure him (mental telepathy is fine) that... More About: Heart
The power of the mind....
2008-01-05 12:58:00 The power of all of our minds is much stronger than most of us give it credit for. Your mind can either be your best friend or it can be your worst enemy. It's up to you to decide which one you would like it to be..If you are constantly worrying or thinking about failing then chances are you will fail. If you are scared that something you are about to try won't work or will go wrong then it probably wont' work or it will go wrong. I am not talking just about concern here. I am talking about real fear of failure. The problem is that we are thinking more about failure than about success. If you concentrate on failing then the chances are that you have a very good chance of failing. However, if you concentrate on succeeding then chances are you will succeed. It's what you believe that is important and ultimately what you will attract. Failure as opposed to success. Which would you like? That's why you need to train yourself to think positively at all times. Don't allow yourself to... More About: Power , Mind , The Mind

Your Friday Story
2008-01-04 13:42:00 Here is your Friday story, Good Memories: The Gift That Keeps on Giving In a world preoccupied with the quest for material possessions, it's easy to overlook the fact that the most valuable things we own are our best memories. Good memories are the gift that keeps on giving. They make us smile, feel proud, and re-experience the pleasure of past times.Looked at through the soft lens of sentiment, even the memory of cranky relatives and family traditions that bored or annoyed us at the time can be heartwarming links with our past. But whether your memories of the holiday season conjure up good feelings and happy sounds, smells, and tastes or negative feelings filled with disappointments, resentments, and grudges, I hope you'll resolve this year to consciously create lasting good memories for yourself and those you care about.Although few of us remember what we gave or got last year or the year before, the tendency is to put too much emphasis on the process of giving and getting gi... Visualisation - For attracting more money
2008-01-04 10:20:00 Morning All,In keeping with the current trend of becoming better, attracting more wealth etc, here is my other visualisation that I do every day. My boss is back today and interrupted my visualising only to tell me that I won't be receiving unexpected cheques in the mail blah blah. That's what he thinks........ amazing how when people see how positive and inspired you are, they have to rain on your parade. I have tried explaining to him (he is a very devout Christian) that The Law of Attraction spans all religions and really doesn't have anything to do with what you believe spiritually, it's a way to attract what you want in your life regardless of whatever religion you are. Sigh.......I will say this : don't knock it until you have tried it and don't always be so quick to judge when you haven't even taken the time to even find out what it's about. So.... I hope that there is someone out there today that will find take something positive from this. More About: Money

The Secret to You
2008-01-03 09:01:00 I was rudely awoken this morning at 5 by the 3 polite young men coming home from their night of revellry. Anyway I couldn't go back to sleep and as I sat up in my bed and drank my coffee and had a cig, I started thinking. I have read so many blogs where people are feeling down for whatever reason, be it love trouble, financial woes or self esteem issues....... there are many reasons. So for today I thought that I would share with you one of the visualisations that I do every morning after my meditation. I hope that you enjoy it and I hope that it helps in some small way. We don't need more money, we don't need greater success or fame, wedon't need the perfect body or even the perfect mate. Right now, atthis very moment, we have a mind, which is all the basic equipmentwe need to achieve complete happiness...Dalai Lama More About: The Secret , Secret
Cat Contraption
2008-01-02 20:37:00 Well today my son A and I finally finished putting the cat contraption up in the main sections where we know the cats like to jump over. My brother still needs to make the rest next week when he gets back to work; he just made up some as an emergency measure after the fireworks fiasco. Once he is done we will put it on the entire wall. There is still a section in the front on the left of the house where they are known to go over but I have a gate there so a special section will need to be made for that, otherwise I will never be able to open the gate again and the thought of traipsing the wheelie bin through the house is not a pleasant one. The cats haven't seemed to have noticed though that we "missed a spot", they are too busy checking out the rest of the sections and trying to figure out how the hell they are supposed to get over THAT! I am not sure if you can see properly in the photographs but basically its galvanized steel bolted to the vibracrete wall with a slight ...
The garden I want...
2008-01-02 13:38:00 Morning Blogland,2008 I know is just going to be such a great year for everyone. My son A is starting a new job, one that could potentially make him quite a wealthy young man and I am starting a new business venture (with the financial backing this time) which could potentially make me a very comfortable working from home middle aged woman.I normally visualise what I want and I think that this new business venture is the product of my visualisation. The Universe very seldom gives you things the way that you think they will, it's always completely different to the way that you pictured but the result is always the same - you get what you asked for.... I pictured myself working from home but never in a million years did I think that my chance would come from the source that it did! More on that later.Whenever I go and visit my Aunt which I must confess is not very often, I am always struck by the sheer size of their garden and I always pictur... More About: Garden , Garde
Fireworks
2008-01-01 16:07:00 Last night as I said I would I lit the fire, poured the wine and waited patiently for 2008 and was feeling very grateful to be saying goodbye to 2007.About 20 minutes before 12 I started getting the cats indoors before the fireworks started but just as I was about to, people decided to start early! Well 5 cats charged inside fortunately as the sliding door was wide open. Jake did not head for the sliding door like all the others. He was absolutely terrified, cleared the 6 foot vibacrete wall and just ran and ran. He landed up in a garden with dogs and I could hear them going absolutely beserk! I could also hear Jake scratching to try and get up the wall. I could hear the dogs were working themselves into a frenzy, Jake was silent. I started praying. I called and called and looked everywhere but I couldn't;t figure out which garden he was in as by now all the dogs in the neighbourhood were going crazy. The noise from the fireworks was deafening.I fetched a bowl of cats bis... More About: Fireworks
Looking back.....
2007-12-31 22:43:00 Tonight as I have for the past 6 years I will light the fire, pour the red wine and braai my lamb ribs and my cheese and tomato toastie. Tonight I will sit back and reflect on the past year, a year that has been very unkind to me in so many, many ways. And tonight I will let it all go and never look back because it is done, finished and cannot be changed. If anything it has made me stronger and hopefully a better person. Tonight I will look forward to the hope of the year to come; a year that is alive with possibilities not the least of which is a very exciting new business venture which I know is going be very profitable. So I will look to my dream that is once again alive and raise my glass. My dream of working from home and not for some boss, and with people who really have no interest in actually working. I will raise my glass to them too because I do not begrudge them being that way, that's who they are. This new venture, this new possibility, this dream was awoken this mor... Depression and Gratitude
