Model Alex came in with a bruise on his waist that was resulted in a recent basketball game. He told me that he played Division 1 football at the highest level of competition. I am not sure what he meant, but understand that getting injured may just be part of his daily life for being an athlete.When I submitted pictures of Alex to DNA Magazine, I decided not to photoshop off the bruise since I thought it was sexy. However, the bruise was erased during the final editing, to reflect want I wanted to express in the series: a moment of zen, a moment that is so pure when the past and the future have been forgotten. Eric is the very first model for my project "If You Can Make It Here". On the day of our photo shoot, there was no make up artist or wardrobe stylist on set, just him, arriving in a cold December morning and wearing his own clothes. But the camera loved him! The first picture below was the second shot we took on that day. As I am working further into the project, sometimes I regret that I did not develop a story line for him prior to the photo shoot.
