Leaf photos with my compact digital camera
2008-01-08 07:46:00 My father bought the compact digital camera, Canon A570 IS, for my sister. It's such an handy and budget digital compact camera, however, its performance is very good. You can play with creative modes which are M, AV, TV as same as DSLR camera and many auto modes.I took some leaf photos with this camera and I hope you will love my photos from our small compact digital camera.1. Light passes thorugh a bambo leaf. 2. Natural texture when light passes throguh big leaf but I don't know what the name of the tree is. I guess it must be the same specy as a palm. 3. High contrast color, green and black shadow. You will feel amazing while you take leaf photos. 4. Use high F stop (Aperture) number as F8 and you can create the star effect when the ray of light passes through a hole of leaf. 5. Let's try to move your camera while you are taking photos. Set manual focus and rotate a focus rig until your photo shown in view finder is blurred as much as possible.2. Set Aperture, F, to the lowest F as much as your lens can do.3. Flash Diffuser : Do It Yourself

Now I have my technique (Do It Yourself ) for making priceless flash diffuser and it works very well. I have some photos that I took with my home made flash diffuser.1. Find empty white film box and make a hole. See pictures below: )2. Put it on a pop up flashThese are some photos . I took these photo at Motor Expo in BKK. The Motor Expo was exhibited in exhibition hall, Meaung Thong Thani, BKK. I always used my pop up flash in order to get nice photos because lighting in the hall created hard shadow on models' face. How to photograph fireworks
2007-12-08 05:36:00 During this celebration period, there will be many fireworks show in many places. Therefore, there are a lot of opportunities to take fireworks photos. I am not professional but I would like to share my basic technique of how to take fireworks photos from my digital photography point of view.What do you need for taking fireworks photos?Camera: the one that has ?Bulb? shutter speed is preferable.Wide and normal zoom lens: 10-22 mm, 16-35 mm, 18-55 mm, 24-70mm, etc. Zoom lenses have more flexibility to frame your photo. However, there are no solid rules which focal length should be used because it depends on how far of you and fireworks, how big of the fireworks are, etc.Tripod: You really need it because of long shutter speed while taking fireworks photos. You must keep your camera still otherwise your photos will blur.Remote switch: It helps you to keep your camera completely still while photographing fireworks shots. Modified remote switch for Canon EOS 300D, 350D and 400D
2007-12-07 01:08:00 I read about how to create a modified remote switch made from Motorola Head Phone from the digital photography board in Thailand. It works very well and you can do it easily.. 10 mins job : ) As I know, it works properly with Canon EOS 300D, 350D and 400D.Let's start1. Buy Motorola Head Phone, there are 2 black rings at a head phone jack.2. Take the cover off and you will see a speaker phone line and head phone line.3. Cut them off4. Reassemble the cover5. Here we go. When you press the button, it will automatically focus. If you press again, it will shoot a photo. If the camera already focuses, when you press the button it will shoot. It works OK and very economy (3 US$ for Motorola head set) .I used it when I took my fireworks photos and an example is shown below.
