2008-03-31 19:38:00 29 March 2008Had an interesting early birthday celebration for Si monyet XinTong outside Bangsar Jalan Telawi Lafuma shop.. instead of doing in some traditional way.. we had a very "Raleigh " style surprise outside the Lafuma shop by the road side in between a tree and a lamp post, we set up a white cloth for "wayang kulit"...had abit of shows by Adrian and Shih Chung before they show this to surprise the 21st birthday girl XinTong..Wishes XinTong a happy 21st birthday! it's today, 31st March 2008..Story of the effect of rising temperature to the metabolism of green plants with commercials.."Kisah seorang anak yang duka nestapa, kerana ibunya batuk... Uhuk.. uhuk.. uhuk.." 2008-03-26 18:47:00 29 March 2008 , the hour between 8-9pm is Earth Hour 2008. Earth Hour is an international event aim to create awareness on reducing electricity usage and lower carbon emission. It is done by turning off your lights and all other unnecessary electrical appliances for one hour. Sydney has done it last year, and it is aimed to happen around the world this year..Earth Hour 2007 has been a target for criticism.. some say that the energy save was negligible. some questioned its practicality (read it here)I would say that by dimming off all the lights for one hour does little or negligible reduce in electricity consumption.. but it is itself is a campaign for public awareness to reduce electricity usage in your daily life.Some questions for you all:Do you off your lights/fans/air-conditioner/heater when you are not in the room?Do you shut down your computer, when you are not using it?Do you shut off your electrical appliances without leaving them in stand-by mode for the rest of the day?Di...

a new template for a new chapter of life..

I finally joined Acrix and AhFoo in the black template gang.. ha :P This giant black millipede shows the theme of the template.. it will still bound to the environment with leaves, stones and dirt.. haha~I was a little bored about the previous template.. maybe i have the same taste with "MJ not Michael Jackson" anyway.. darker template actually saves more energy than using a white background template..Believe me or not? Darker screen consume less energy because white background is brighter..source: http://www.microtech.doe.gov/EnergyStar/i nfo.htm#displayhaha, I am saying this as if there were significant amount of people visiting this blog to cause the significant amount of energy safe.. haha :P I personally feel that darker background are more pleasing to my eyes, because white is just too bright and it makes my eyes tired after facing the monitor for a prolonged duration..Anyway, its going to be another chapter of my life.. i will be starting work.. i... 2008-03-17 18:28:00 It's again another month, I am yet measuring the size of my house.. yet to finish in few weeks time.. :P anyway, RIKL March monthly meeting supposed to be held on 9 March , which was also the day after the election day..Well, every Malaysian should know that this election was one of the turning point in Malaysian history.. SO, in order to prevent any unforeseen situation happen on the day after, the monthly meeting was postponed to this week saturday.. Danum Valley Part IV
2008-03-06 21:26:00 Finally, its the end of Danum Valley series..So... since, we had not much to do around field base.. we planned to trek deep into the jungle in order to start planning to rebuild the devastated and deserted Raleigh Cabin for more than 15 years.. A total of 7 days trek into the Raleigh Cabin, the group was separated into groups of 8 and 4.. group of 8 went into Raleigh Cabin while group of 4 stayed at field base... this decision was carried out because due to some medical reasons.. anyway.. of course i was in the 8 person group.. i wouldn't want to stay at field base doing nothing.. i will definitely bored to death..At first we trekked to a waterfall camp (Purut Camp) where most visitors would stopped and stayed.. this part of the trek was easy with some mild hills and valleys along the route.. but not too hard.. we stayed for one night at Purut Camp..the next day, we went in deeper into the jungle.. this was the toughest part of the trek, and not much people came in here other than ... Danum Valley Part III
2008-03-03 20:08:00 Here comes the long awaited Danum Valley Part III!! Well, its not the end yet.. maybe part IV, V & VI?!!Anyway, while we were still working hard on the trails.. the LOOP came to visit us (fyi: the LOOP means a Raleigh International white land rover vehicle which wander around Sabah visiting project sites once every phase)So besides providing more chocolate, ie. sneakers, mars bars.. toffee luk!! supplie, the main purpose of the LoOp was to attend the opening ceremony of the newly built bridge.. erm.. NOT by my group.. but done by the past three years expeditions.. YET we get to witness the official opening of the bridge by expedition leader Laura..A 'jungle cake' with "Laura" sitting under the shade beside a christmas tree and Malaysian flag... it was bought from the town for the celebration..Laura holding on the cake.. everyone was waiting anxiously with their mess tins 'three bowled' for the cake!in the meantime, we had a 'jungle ball' party.. was limited by "Raleigh rul... More articles from this author:2008-02-26 08:04:00 Another community Post-IW project by Alpha from last year IW..Group Alpha fund-raised and fund the trip to bring the children from Precious Children 's home to Zoo Negara..It was a success, you can see it from the number of volunteers taking part.. a group of 40+ people with 20+ children, most of the children were taken care 1 to 1 by one volunteer.. I didn't get one due to number of volunteers..The crowd in front of the main entrance..most of them are very obedient until they saw some junk food stalls in the zoo.. haha :PThis is Vincent's son aka "Naughty Aaron"..Since I didn't get any son or daughter to take care of.... so i would rather mingled with some animals instead.. :PSo i went to multiple animal show to look for some talented animals..Found a clever little white parrot..But then, this cunning little parrot stole my RM1 flew away and afraid of facing me face to face!!The seal lion was good in Slam dunk!The hornbill stood majestically on its throne seat..The eagle was too...
