I m back from Sabah: The Land Below the Wind
2007-12-25 18:08:00 After a long 3 months in Sabah , i m finally back to the civilization, no more jungle and villagers life.. Sabah's expedition is the best i have been so far, far better than any traveling i did in Europe.. Would love to get back there to meet all my fellow friends in Ambong, Batu Puteh and LongPasia..Majestic Mount Kinabalu will always stood tall in Sabah!Fellow RIKL expedition mates back in LCCT in Sepang..Watch out for more of my upcoming posts on Raleigh Sabah Expedition.. 2007-10-01 02:00:00 In 30 minutes time, i will be departing from my house to LCCT to fly to Sabah to start my 3 months expedition in Sabah... So i will see you all back after 3 months, don't miss me ya!I am in the newspaper!! I was one of the 3 person who appeared on last monday The Star Rage.. Don't you think the 3 Orang utan were placed there on purpose??!! :PYesterday Jumble Sales was much better.. we manage to earn RM 789 in total & there was no RAIN!!Due to the experience we got from last week, all the stuffs were more organized and labeled properly..It was a hot and hectic day but yet lots of customers..Carefully sorted clothes, mostly by Shih Chung..The man of the match is sorting clothes again.. :PA really thanks to Shih Chung, Christal, CK, Xin Tong, Bee Li, Pei Ting and all those who turned out for our fund raising events in 1utama, Mont Kiara and HELP.. 2007-09-28 20:12:00 22 September 2007 - Raleigh -ing for a Cause (Fund raising event in 1 utama)The front set up with Happy Booth selling tanglung and accessories & Bake Sales selling cup cakes..RIKL information counter with laptop displaying slide shows and selling T-shirts, second hand books sales was situated beside on the left of RIKL counter (not showed in this photo).First round of hot dog eating competition; started with RIKL members i.e. Yen, ShiChung, CK, Vincent & myself.. :PIn the end, although we didn't get to raise as much money as we expected but we did able to get a list of people interested in joining Raleigh..23 September 2007 - Bazaar in Mont Kiara (Jumble Sales) & Mooncake festival in Angels Children's HomeJumble Sales in Plaza Mont Kiara started on 9.00am in the morning.. where Vincent, Li Vyen and myself moved all the stuffs in and pick up a box of toys donation. First one would be today's midvalley for my own b'day.. nothing much, just had a lunch with Acrix, Acrelaine, AhFoo, YingJia & SiauYong.. Went over to La Mian Xiao Long Bao to have a lunch..Everyone's dishes..Dining mates~AhFoo & SiauYong.. AhFoo just got himself a brand new Canan DSLR 400D.. which only cost him like RM 2300, quite a good deal rite?! Where's urs Acrix?!!Acrelaine, YingJia & Acrix..After lunch, Katherine met up with us.. then later on 5 of us (foo, acrix, yingjia, siauyong & myself) went on to watch a movie called "Hairspray" by John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer & Queen Latifah..Went on to buy some expedition equipments before heading home at about 7pmWent home and opened up the b'day present i got from Acrix, Acrelaine, Samantha, Katherine, SiauYong, YingJia & AhFoo.. 2007-09-11 00:16:00 Have got lots to update yet, too little time.. been busying on fund raising stuffs every single day... although i have been collecting junks and second hand stuffs for a month, it's seems like those that i have got are still not enough to earn enough for my expedition.. so if you're reading this and living around KL, you can always approach me if you would like to donate any of your unwanted junks which still has second hand value..Btw, the jumble sales for these second hand stuffs will be on Plaza Mont Kiara Flea Market on 23rd and 30th September (both sundays).. Was really grateful that some of my friends who take great effort in 'digging' their stuffs out for me.. particularly Acrix, Acrelaine, WenMing & WenLing, LeeLee & BeeLi.. and any others who's still digging on their stuffs..Here's just two photos as a wee update, just got these photos from the studio last friday...that's all.. :P update more when i have the time.. cheers!! 2007-09-01 21:36:00 Our country is 50 years old now!! I am not as patriotic as Joe who asked everyone to register as NEW voter.. :P (visit HERE for more info).. Anyway, i did do something to show my love to the country....... i went to Putrajaya to take fireworks photos at the hill beside the Prime Minister office building, together with CheeSung, a professional photographer who is currently working in a studio..There's a breathtaking view from the hill.. you can almost see the whole Putrajaya from the hill, to be honest i have no idea what's the name of the hill, but i am pretty sure that Hotel Shangri-la Putrajaya is situated on the hill as well..The Prime Minister's office.. very huge building.. do they really utilized every space inside?!Okay, here is the first firework when its officially 31st August 2007.. Then we only realised that we were on the wrong hill to take photos of the fireworks.. 90% of the fireworks were actually blocked by the Putrajaya convention centre!!This 'rambutan'-like ...
