Street Scene - New Orleans, Louisiana

Found this monotone scene while walking around New Orleans , Louisiana while I was on a shoot down there. The only photoshop i did to this was bringing the contrast up a bit. I was at an event a couple weeks ago and the keynote speaker happened to be <A href="http://www.carville.info/" target=_blank>James Carville</A> - A.K.A. The Ragin Cajun. Katie - Lawrence Kansas

I reposted this photo on my website after looking around for a few other shots to post onto it. This was shot in the great town of Lawrence , Kansas where I lived for 6 years and miss it very much. The model is Katie , a girl I shot with last summer. We did a shoot near the river and I used at 10.5mm lens to shoot this with an on camera flash to bring down the background a few stops. I dig it. Hawaii Ocean Part 2

Part 2 of a series I am posting on Monday. Surfers on the Pacific Ocean in Kauai, Hawaii . I don't know what to call this, maybe landscape? I like the position of everything in the frame but I do not like when I shoot wide open shots how I have to crop in camera. When I shoot with a fisheye it helps but it is still frustrating. This was something I did back in college for an assignment. It is a photograph of my hand with the obvious photoshop work done to it. I found this while going through an old portfolio and through I would place this online and see what you all think of it. Wide Angle Photo Shoot

This photo was shot using only a reflector and a 10.5mm fisheye lens...and a little bit of photoshop (but not much.) The photo came out looking like a lifestyle shoot but that was not the intention. I love night time photography. I shot a lot of things at night when I was in college going through art school and need to get back into it. This was shot from our hotel room in Waikiki, Hawaii. Hawaiian Palm Trees

Everyone who travels to Hawaii snaps at least one photo of the palm trees in Hawaii right? I saw this while we were on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. We were driving away from the North Shore on Oahu and I wanted to take another peak at this bay right off the highway before we left the area. I thought this was going to turn into a different photo when I looked at the area. After taking a few quick shots I lined this up and now it is in front of you. Kauai, Hawaii on Poipu Beach

Walking along Poipu Beach in Kauai, Hawaii and I see the moon hidden behind the clouds. I found a rock and posted my Nikon D200 on it trying to keep it level and hold it still. I folded the neck strap under the lens to even it out and set an exposure of about 15 seconds for this image. I wish I had a tripod with me to bring my ISO/ASA down on the camera to remove some of the digital noise but I had to do what I could with what I had. I snapped a few shots of and posted this photo after a few tweaks in photoshop. Thanks for checking this out - Kansas City Photographer Aaron Lindberg.

Hawaiian Cliff Divers #2

Part 2 of 2. After photographing them off from a distance, I got closer to them and shot from above. This is one of the photos that I have from a set of two teenagers jumping off this cliff on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. I really like how this kid looks with his pose and the way that the ocean seems so far down from where he is. I wish that I had this photo wider but I was already at 17mm on my Nikon. Found these teenagers jumping off this cliff on the island of Oahu in Hawaii while on vacation. They asked me for money to jump off the cliff but I told them I would send them a photo of the kids in action instead and them agreed. As soon as I checked my email after the shoot I had in my inbox an email from one of the kids named Josh. Daddry Shield - Band photo shoot

I had the opportunity to work with a local band Daddry Shield a couple of weeks ago in the studio. They were looking for a photo shoot to promote the band through print and websites. I tweaked this photo a lot in Photo shop using a blue overtone to create something darker. I hate using that word but it will have to do. I also like gritty looking photos as you can tell perusing through my photoblog. So I pushed this photo until it almost broke, it very well could be broken in your eyes but I like the look of this shot. The best part of this photo to me is the drummer dude second from the right peaking over the shoulder of the guitarist, my favorite part! Before Curtain

I had the opportunity to photograph a dance company here in Kansas City Reach...a movement collective inc . a couple of weekends back. I decided I wanted to create something different than the performers putting on makeup or getting ready for the performance. Instead I placed my camera on the ground and focused on a few of the dancers warming up and stretching before the curtain rose. The composition on this is very top heavy but I do like how the light falls on the foot, something that drew me into this while shooting. Overworked Photoshop Golf Photo

I felt like destroying a photo in Adobe Photo shop so I started with this golf photo I took in Las Vegas while covering a golf tournament. Not wanting to completely shred the photograph and still keep some dignity with my work I figured this golf shot with a mountain in it would work. The setting was overcast just before a big rain in Las Vegas. An eerie yellowish light was filling the golf course and falling on all of the white collar workers who partake in said event. I pushed this mid-tones, dropped the highlights and opened up the shadows while tweaking the color in post. I also sharpened this with a large radius smart sharp in Photosho p . Just something else to add to this blog to try and keep people coming back, hope it doesn't drive you away seeing this overworked photoshop file. Automobile Show

This was something I shot a while back from a car show in Kansas City. I was shooting this on assignment for the Kansas City Star when I was freelancing for them. I lined up this photograph and out of the blue this father and son walked up and started looking at this old automobile. It framed up perfectly, with the entire front of the car and the element of the two figures looking in the window. Early Morning Football

Shooting low with a wide angle lens at about 6:30am is what it took to make this photograph. I had an assignment to shoot the first practice of the season a couple of years ago for a newspaper I was freelancing for. This were two high school seniors and I believe if memory serves - they were the captains of their football team. The kids were running defensive drills and I placed the camera on the ground and tilted it upward below the football players. I was very happy with how this silhouette turned out. Dental teeth

I am very fond of this photo. I had it in my portfolio while I was shooting editorial work. I dug it up and posted it here for all 3 of you to see. This set of huge teeth were in the dental office while on assignment for a profile of a dentist in Kansas City so I thought it would be cool to shoot through them. What do you think about this???
